I've been to many storages throughout the years. This was overall a nice location. My initial interaction with this storage was good but after sometime I had a very unpleasant customer service experience with Erich. He was extremely rude and unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this location. I recommend saving yourself the headache and heading over to public storage next door. Was here for 2 months paying $80/month by the 3rd month the payment was $180, no notification was sent out about the price increase, when I called they said it was due to inflation. They also have mice, once I moved all my stuff out to a cheaper storage unit, there was mouse poop everywhere. Do not use this place. read more

I would give zero stars if I could, not only do they go up on rates continuously but they are horribly infested with rats. I rented two units here for over a year each and when I recently retrieved my belongings both of my units were horribly infested and all of my things were completely ruined. I had storage units here off and on for 6 years up until a few months ago when I moved out of state. When we originally rented, the staff were professional and helpful. But in recent years, the on-site manager changed and the customer service went downhill. The on-site managers park at least 3 cars across the way from their two garage. So when you turn right into the property, it can be hard to get past their excessive amount of cars especially if you're in a moving truck. Every time I came to the property there was piles of dirt and glass up and down the hallways, there weren't always carts at each door and I'm pretty sure that some people lived in their units. You could smell weed in the hallways on many occasions. And the doors wouldn't stay open with the door magnet which makes it pretty difficult to bring your stuff in and out of the building. They need new management who cares about the property. read more

Issues, questions, and concerns are dealt with honestly and directly by competent managers at Security (I contrast these two because I have units at each). Eric, the manager at Extra Space, is amiable but feckless and dishonorable. He makes promises he cannot keep and then throws up his hands and says "call the 800 number. I can't do anything." Blah, blah, blah... With better local and corporate management, this place would be fine. But the leadership void is massive and overwhelms the positive attributes this place has to offer read more

My Husband and I have been renting a storage unit here for a month now while we live in a small apartment as our new house is being built. Summer was absolutely AMAZING at check in! I came over right before the moving truck to get us checked in, and the whole process was quick and she was super friendly and helpful. It's so nice to see a welcoming face during a time of uncertainty and when you are dead tired from moving all day! It took about 10 minutes to get checked in, take a tour of the unit, and get our keys. The facility itself is clean, and feels safe. There is a manager living on site to watch over everything while you are away, a gate with a code, and a fence surrounding the whole property. We selected a 10x20 outside unit which was perfect to fit 90% of the furniture for our four bedroom house. We have a month left at this storage facility and so far so good! It's easy getting in and out of our unit, and we have had no problems. Pro tip: If you are going to cancel, let them know before you make your last payment and they can prorate your last month. But if you already make your payment and then let them know, there's nothing they can do. Pro tip #2: Rent a unit here instead of one in Roseville. It's significantly cheaper. We got 50% off our first month, and $176 per month after that for our 10x20 unit. read more

My very good friend finally got a nursing job and moved from Southern Ca to Northern CA. Had all of her stuff for her first house in storage. Furniture, washer/dryer, clothes, her military documents and memorabilia, photos/books. All to be destroyed by rats and covered in fecies and urine. When confronting the attendant lady about the issue, she had a "not my problem" attitude. There was never a: I'm sorry for your loss, or anything that sounded endearing. No refund was given, no offer for free storage in another location, or any type of offer to help make it up. No one helped clean up or move all the rat mess. What a horrible company. If you want your stuff to remain usable I highly recommend picking a different place! read more

Our storage needs were met at this facility. Clean, easily accessible, and we felt our items were safe during this time of transition. I do, however, think that they have a ridiculous policy in their contract that states if you don't notify them before you pre-pay your month, you don't get reimbursed a pro-rated amount. We were in the process of closing on our first house, and since we didn't know exactly when/if we'd close, I didn't want to notify them we were moving out, in case things didn't go as expected. I ended up giving a week's notice, more than the required 2 days, but even though we ended up moving out on the 16th, we still had to pay the remainder of the month! I think this policy is crazy because once you move out, they're going to rent the unit to someone else and basically get paid double. Makes me feel a little cheated out of money. I guess just beware of this or only use this facility for your storage needs if you feel like you'll know for sure when you'll be moving out. Or else, you may be paying an extra $100 or so for a service you no longer need. read more

Terrible experience with this place. I am a current customer at the time of writing this, but soon to be ex-customer. I rent a 10x20 there and I needed more space. I reserved a 10x30, I even got a confirmation email with an appointment number, the size of the unit, price per month and the day to move in. I went in there on that day and was told they had given my RESERVED unit to someone else. I could not believe the disregard in which I was treated. The dumb woman behind the counter said it was because this other person came in first with the money. I was first with my RESERVATION. I guess the dumb bimbo has no idea what reserved means. After calling corporate and complaining, all I got was half-baked lies and excuses. I am pulling my stuff out of that place and taking it elsewhere. I am done with Extra Space Storage. read more

Just rented an RV space here and asked about cameras and they said they had them. Well our RV was broken into between 6/16 and 6/20 along with at least 10 other RVs with broken storage compartment locks, I feel bad for Summer at the front who is going to have to deal with irate customers.. our locks just themselves are 700 to replace!! the owner is going to have to bite the cost for not have adequate security or camera footage as described when we rented the space read more

I stored my RV at the Roseville Road Extra Space for about three years and was content until the one year lease expired. They would not renew it and started raising the rent like clock work almost immediately. Five dollars here, ten dollars there and it added up fast.They raised the price twice in 2012 alone and the last increase was roughly 10%. I was lucky that it was an RV and not a unit filled with stuff. I found a family owned storage place nearby for half of what they planned to charge me. The new place also offers indoor RV storage for what they wanted to charge me for outdoor storage. Beware of staying beyond the one year lease, especially if you plan to store something that does not have wheels. I believe they count on people accepting their unreasonable price increases because it is too much work to move stuff. Thank God my motor home has wheels and it was a pleasure to move it to a new home. read more

I have been to and used plenty of storage facilities and by far this one is the best! Very clean and easy to get around with a vehicle. The units are each alarmed so if someone opens it a alarm sounds. The office is very clean and updated. I like the monitor on the wall where you can see the alarm status. The Office staff is very helpful and I have a few problems with money and they took care of it with no problems, A bathroom would be nice. Other than that I give it 5 stars! read more

They were great in reserving and holding a unit for me eventhough it was the last one. I couldn't get there until my move in day and they held it no problem. When I arrived with the moving truck full of my things, they took me to the unit first so the movers could unload and we went back to do the paperwork.
