Horrible customer service. Have had unit for a little over four months and the rate doubles. They noted it's a web rate and as long as they notify us 30 days in advance. They seem to want to argue with you over anything else. Was rudely asked how much longer I would need the unit for my elderly father in law. Like, who the heck says that? Also told by their workers THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT. Do yourself a favor. Stay away. Read the other complaints. They bait and switch. Horrible company who will be reported to BBB. I dont know I couldnt tell you cause they wont give me a price break down and to top it off there selling my stuff even though i said I will pay but want to see a breakdown of the bill. I had a "district manager" intervene and was zero help. He couldnt send me an email with the breakdown either. Rented a storage from 1353 Florin road over 2 1/2 years ago. Went to go check on my unit and found my storage ransacked with my $2500 tv missing. The storage lock did not seemed to be tampered with but someone had been in there. I told the store manager about the missing TV and asked if they have a master key to any of the storage unit and they replied no we do not. They replied just make a police report. WOW. They do not have security camera inside of the storage unit only on the outside. I highly recommend not to rent from this location. I believe someone working at that facility broke into my storage unit. They full of BS. read more

I went into the office to buy a lock. I was in a hurry because my items were insecure in the unit (I bought the wrong lock) but there was an older woman ahead of me. She was taking her time telling Tasha about a medical issue or an injury she had recently. She was taking her time chatting her up while I waited behind her with the lock in hand. How Tasha handled the situation was beautiful. She balanced the needs of two separate women with such grace. I've worked in hospitality and public service for years and I definitely took a note from her. Tasha was making eye contact with me and gave a subtle nod to signal that I wasn't ignored, but she gave so much respect and dignity to this woman that seemed to just need an ear. Tasha quickly helped me out, then returned her attention to this woman, who she addressed by name. I haven't had much storage experience and I didn't expect this kind of care and attention. Above and beyond Tasha and Napua have always been. Besides having fresh cold filtered water on hand at all times, they both have been super flexible in every way assisting me in my complicated move. I've spent at least 2 hours in their office Witt all my needs... and every single time they deliver above and beyond any standard expectation. Even yesterday I came unprepared without tools and sure enough Tasha brought what I needed with me barely needing to ask, plus she made herself available to make sure I was safe as the job whilst disassembling a very large piece of furniture. I spoke with Tasha on the phone who provided me with plenty of details as to which units would be available; she was very kind, helpful, and offered up some ideas of potential spaces noting the difference in access points(10x5 vs. 5x10). Upon arriving to the unit I met with Napua who was super friendly and helpful. She answered all my questions and gave me a solid overview of my options then took me on a tour. I was relieved to see how clean the building was, and most units are accessed internally with climate control. Overall-awesome experience and reasonable pricing!! EXCELLENT experience! I have never been in a storage unit. I saw horrid experiences on these new-fangled reality shows, and thought, "Oh my goodness, my pristine furniture and well-packed boxes may come out infested with...ugh!" That caused me to search and search for a storage facility with utmost care. You can not get better than Extra Space Storage! I chose this location versus one closer to me, due to its location. East Sac is a great location, Right off the freeway made it convenient as well. Upon renting, I was impressed with the fabulous service (Tanya?), security measures, and cleanliness. I rarely feel compelled to make time and leave online reviews. It's even more rare that I consider a business or service to have earned a five star review. That said, Tasha and her crew have proven, over a significant amount of time, that the service they provide is deserving of a five star review. At the least. As a small business owner, I've come to rely on Extra Space as a significant partner in my day to day operations. I use this facility to store my business's inventory. Inventory that is fragile, incredibly valuable and that honestly, represents everything I've worked hard for years for. I was hesitant to trust any place or business with this and only, over time, have come to a place where I have complete confidence and trust in storing my inventory here. So much so that as I've grown my business, I've expanded into multiple units. I can honestly say that the service they provide allows me to be successful in my business and without it, I don't think I could operate on the same level, if at all. I depend on the service ES provides as much as any other and it's contribution to my success is unmeasurable. Having spent so much time there, I've seen it all. I'm not here to tell you that issues never arise or that drama never occurs. It's a facility visited and used by a wide range of people, each of whom bring their own issues along with their belongings. And obviously, the facility is located near downtown, near the river and there is no lack of unhoused people in the area. Anyone familiar with any part of downtown or the surrounding areas for that matter, is familiar with the encampments that flank these neighborhoods and the issues involved with them. It's 100% impossible for ANY business or residence in and around downtown for that matter to NOT have dealt with the consequences of our city's unhoused neighbors and the issues that result from that. It's unavoidable and any business that claims otherwise is lying to you. So please know that I'm not here to paint a dishonest picture of anything. I've seen these issues play out and I've seen how they're handled and I've been impressed with Tasha specifically in how she handles business, no matter the challenges. Also, being there so often and for this long, I've spoken with dozens of other people that rent units there. People moving in, people moving out, people downsizing and people like me, expanding into multiple units. I've never heard anything that wasn't in praise of Tasha and that spoke to anything but praise for the service she provides. As I said, I'm extremely comfortable and confident in the ability of ES to safely store my assets and more than any other facility I've used, I feel safe and protected when on site. This is a huge part of my experience and I want to highlight the level of security and the overall "vibe" of the facility. I have an unparalleled trust in ES and the service Tasha provides. Compared to the other storage facilities I've used and compared to all the other services, partners and providers I rely on daily to operate my business, this ES Storage operates on a level that surpasses them all. I just can't recommend them enough. I'm probably one of the few folks that are on-site daily. For a long time now, I've seen firsthand how the business operates, how it's maintained, how clients are treated, how challenges are dealt with, etc.. I'm often there very early in the morning and very late at night. I've had work to do that has kept me there, working from my unit(s) for the greater part of the day. From what I can tell, I often spend more time on site than the vast majority of folks who have storage there. I believe I'm as knowledgeable as anybody to speak to the level of service Tasha provides and I've intentionally waited to share my opinion until now. I wanted to make sure I developed a deep understanding of how the business operates and after being on site, at all hours of the day, 98% of the days, for well over a year, Ive seen enough to say that I believe you will not find a better, safer, cleaner, more reasonably priced, more accommodating and just plain friendly storage facility in Sac. At the least I can say that of the five storage facilities in Sac that I've used over the last couple decades, that this Extra Space facility is far superior to the others. In every possible way. Not only did they double the rent I was given a 30 day notice that all rents would go up at the busiest time of year being December 1st. Good news a new mini storage opened up at McKinley Village. If anyone needs a very highly competent wonderful customer service employee go grad her. My entire life I've worked in customer service and I'm 58 years young. She went way beyond her duties and job helping me. She changed units to a bigger one immediately she took my key from the movers and printed a time log and had it setting for me at the front desk this morning. Whatever you do, do not do business with this company. My storage unit was broken into by the people who lived in a neighboring unit and I basically lost all my valuables. And the storage facility couldn't do anything about it. The thieves were able to stay in the unit after hours and break into multiple units. They sawed a hole around the locking mechanism which rendered having a lock useless. So much for paying for a secure place to store your valuables. The icing on the cake for this place is that they raise your rent by banking on the fact that you wouldn't go through the trouble and hassle of moving your stuff out since you just moved it in. I started at $89 a month and not even 2 months in the price doubled and just kept going up. Just a little under two years and they tried to raise my rent to $291/month from $218. Freakin ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and just store your stuff at home or find a place that actually wants to keep their customers. The only good thing about this place was Tasha. You're great Tasha but the business you work for sucks. Also, if you're planning to move out of your unit because they sent you a notice that your rent is going up again for like the 10th time. They won't prorate you for the rest of the month that you paid for. And if you're moving out earlier than your final day, they can rent out your unit that you just basically paid for for the entire month. How's that for great business practices. Go F yourselves in the extra empty space you'll have when people start realizing how horrible your company is! read more

Been renting here for a long time- facility is clean and well maintained but the prices escalate quickly if you have been a renter for a while. Unfortunately that's the downside of downtown storage space. If I was just rating my experience with renting and costs I would say 3- too expensive for 5x5 ($121/mo). However, I had a wonderful experience with Tasha in the office and she helped me by getting me into a new unit (had to move all my stuff to new unit, didn't get discount on existing unit...) but it saved me a good amount each month.
