When I opened this unit, a 5x6 in 2022, the price was an intro of $78. It then went up to $95 monthly. By the end of 2024, this same space is now $140, basically double my original intro price. A late fee is $21, which as a retired Veteran hits the wallet pretty hard. You only get a payment reminder after you're charged the late fee, and various other nefarious or disadvantageous practices for the customer, advantageous for the business. I don't recommend Public Storage. Management never calls back, everything is automated now, little human contact and messages from the contact people are very cryptic or vague on purpose, it seems. read more

I was not thrilled when my rent was raised and was looking for other Storage Facilities but they were more than accommodating and understanding that I am happy I stayed. These are heartless people. Nobody is an individual. You are nothing but $$$ in their eyes. PS upped my rent this month from $316 to $440. A very sizable increase. I argued for some time (first late fee) to keep it down, but they refused. I never agreed to pay that amount, so, I paid my normal amount for the month, and I'm vacating the unit. They have already denied me free access to my unit, meaning I have to wait until someone in the office is here...really cuts into my working hours. I rented a U-Haul Thursday morning and I still have it. Why? Because I've been loading this 10x20 unit by myself!!! Nobody has helped. I am on day 4, I am exhausted and Breanna tells me I need to vacate by 4:30 pm or she's going to call a tow truck. Really??? I could see if I was sitting around, doing nothing, or trying to get over on PS, but, I'm not. I am legally disabled, and I have been doing way more than I should be doing because I've had no help. The fact that she is worried more about following the "rules" than understanding that a disabled person should be allowed more time and deserves to be treated with respect to their disability (as opposed to receiving threats first thing) shows me clearly that this company cares more about money than the people who provide it. FYI: I am getting a 10x15 climate controlled unit for $219 in EDH. Yeah, PS, I will not be missing you at all. read more

THE SETUP Public Storage is one option for a person, a family, or even a group of friends to collectively gather items to put away into storage to get out of your way at your home(s). Sometimes it's not easy to just toss a piece of furniture, or let go of grandma's antique china hutch. So this provides an option to hold onto those items in the meantime. I rented a storage unit. They told me I have to but their insurance. They don't let you use your own insurance. Floors are filthy and on top of that. I kept a trailer outside for a few months and it was broken into. The truck a few f as pits away was also vandalized and they cut his brake lines in an attempt to keep him from moving it. Here's the best part. One of the shed units has a homeless woman living in it. She put up 4th of July decorations!! I guess it's ok for indoor storage but outdoor storage is a joke. read more

Was a no brainer. Left a storage unit in manteca, to come out to Sacramento. I had reservations at 57th location. I realized I went to the wrong location, when the storage manager says "oh im sorry your reservations is at another location" she told me she could change it, because this location is closer to my new place. Horrible, horrible place. Someone broke into my storage!? Called the police, which I had to wait almost three hours for. And even though the manager wasn't working at the time, she on the premises. Her and her husband came outside to smoke a cigarette. The husband only came over to say something to me only after I snapped a photo of them. The manager got in her car and left. After the incident (which I never talked to the manager about), I noticed that she started acting all weird with me. I decided then to get my things out if there. I never pressed any charges or fooled around about it because it just seem like too much of a hassle. P.s. this was back in 2010, so I don't know if there someone new or not. Hopefully there is because it's been several years later and I'm still pissed off. I have video and pictures to prove it. read more

The staff here is very attebtive, kind and thoughful. Upon move-in she insisted we borrow her dolly hand-truck. Then when we noticed the light in the unit was out she was very gracious about it and had it fixed. Not once has she been rude or unkind. Very nice lady. The unit is clean and tidy and so is the property. If I needed another storage unit I'd definitely itely come back here.
