I made my reservation online through SelfStorage.com. It was quick, risk free, and easy. I was only disappointed that this facility only allows you to hold the risk free reservation online for one day. But once I was in the office, it sounded like they can extend that once completing your contract. Their prices are reasonable, the site seems very secure, safe, and clean. Safe part of town. Haley, their front desk manager, I believe, was INCREDIBLY friendly and accommodating. She has fantastic customer service and genuinely seems to enjoy her job and care for her clients. I feel very pleased with my decision to rent here. Thank you Haley for everything! She deserves a raise!!

MyPlace Storage took over and there have been many problems before and after the switch. I'm done…read morewith their customer support, which is lousy. They have had acknowledged problems with their new online portal and I was not getting billing notifications. There was an overdue bill and they called me (which was nice), but when I went online to pay, I could not login. I tried resetting the password, waiting a few days, tried again, called customer support - nothing worked. They said the local office was open, so I went over to take care of the bill and get some things out, but a guy there said the office was closed on Wednesdays (this was new, but customer support just told me they were open). Then I found they put a lock on my unit. I couldn't get in and nobody was available to open. (The guy that was there couldn't do anything.) I've called customer service twice, but no help. They just take my number and say they'll call back, but I've heard nothing. This is all on a business day. The rates have gone up twice in the past several months and there are cheaper places, so I booked a new storage unit at a different company and am moving out. Now, they're claiming they need 10 days notice, but their own letter says the new policy doesn't take effect until next month! These people are idiots and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. These kinds of things have been happening all along, but the new management is only making it worse.

While preparing my 86-year-old mother's home for repairs after water damage, I contacted this company specifically for packing-only services. I clearly explained that we did not need anything moved, only clothing and miscellaneous items packed. Their website advertises packing-only services, and when I called, I was assured that they could accommodate exactly what we needed. They quoted $205 per hour for a three-person team and scheduled a date for an in-home assessment and for the actual packing. The assessor came to the home, took pictures, and seemed visibly annoyed when they learned that another company would be moving our furniture into a POD. Still, nothing was said about packing services being an issue. Two days later, I received a call stating that they "do not pack only" and would not be providing the service. I was stunned. I asked why they told me otherwise, why they came to my home for an estimate, and why they scheduled a packing date if they had no intention of following through. Their explanation was that the website is "national" and not all locations offer packing-only services despite the fact that they clearly advertised it and initially confirmed they could do it. The truth is, they do offer packing-only services; they simply refused to honor it because we hired a different company to handle our furniture. The items they were scheduled to pack were not even being moved out of the home. I have never dealt with a company that so blatantly misled me. This entire situation caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time as we try to support an elderly parent and repair her home. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've had with a packing or moving company, and I felt it was important to share.

It was a lot easier to put extra furniture and boxes of kitchen supplies from the moving truck to the storage than up and down stairs to the attic or basement, and the furniture was unscathed in a few rains that would have ruined it in a flooded basement. We've been able to just "grab the other one" when something in the kitchen wears out too. The price is competitive and fair and when the price has gone up, a few times in the last 10 years, I'm notified ahead of time. Mark and everyone I've spoken with there, whether it was with questions about my unit or to pay my monthly rent, have been friendly and knowledgeable. I've always felt my belongings were safe and that I was safe when I visited my unit.
