Their diagnosis was we had a bad compressor and it would need to be replaced at a cost of just under $6,000. Having relatives in the HVAC business in Arizona I knew that compressors are expensive. We had replaced our HVAC system, including the variable speed furnace, in California the year earlier for just over $9,000 so I requested a quote to replace our entire system since their $6,000 estimate would or should be a majority of the entire cost. Imagine my surprise when the bids we received ranged from $17,000 to $27,000!!! At these prices it was time to get a second opinion....and this is where it gets really ridiculous. After getting a recommendation from another homeowner within our community we had Ben Henry HVAC out to check our system. What he found was that we had no electricity running to our condenser/compressor, that the electrical line from our electrical panel in the garage to the outside unit had failed/been severed. Ben suggested we have Dave Williams of Crux Electrical out to repair the line which we did. Upon restoring electrical power our system worked fine, there was NO COMPRESSOR ISSUE AND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ACTUAL HVAC SYSTEM!!!!!! When I shared the Mountain Air bid with my HVAC experienced relatives and with our HVAC guy in California they all laughed and remarked we were being ripped off. As I said in my final communication with the sales folks at Mountain Air, "So you guys are either incompetent or have low business integrity...leave it to you to decide". The positive outcome of this entire debacle was we found two great contractors in Ben Henry and Dave Williams. We upgraded our furnace with a variable speed motor by Ben Henry and it's been a game changer.

They also provided us with at 3 options to fix the original problem plus cost options to prevent the future problems from happening. Jim (the cost guru) had excellent customer service and was so willing to help in any way he could. Kevin (the inspector) was very knowledgeable and answered all of my random questions that came from being a first time homebuyer. This is now my favorite company to go through and I look forward to working with them in the future.

I had called these guys to my home in Harrisville about a month ago on an emergency. They came in a flash to our rescue and signed us up for a maintenance plan. Brycen was great and made what I thought was going to be a home re-finance job into something we were able to handle. So today, Tony came by for an inspection and made sure my sister's HVAC system was running as it should. I had her sign up for the same plan as ours. Tony was also very friendly and reassuring. Being senior citizens, sometimes we are not treated well - but these guys? They made us feel special and that's a big deal to us. Tony was not rushed and explained everything to us. I have dealt with one of the "BIG GUYS HVAC" companies in the past, and was very disenchanted with the whole scare tactics they employed. Our neighbors had had great service from Fremont Heating & Air Conditioning and recommended we give them a call. John Fremont was able to come out the next day. Although he concurred with some of the problems the previous company saw, we felt he took a much less rash approach to the situation. We did end up replacing the heater (at a much lower cost) because the most expensive part needed replacing and the heater was over 15 years old. But the A/C only needed a $20 part replaced and it was good to go. The work was done quickly and professionally and we couldn't be happier. When that A/C does decide to give up the ghost, we'll be calling Fremon Heating & Air Conditioning to do the replacement job.

So I called ERS to cancel my appt. Which I feel is the polite thing to do so they can schedule other customers. Well after canceling they hung up on me. No, thank you for calling, no good bye...nothing. money aside, I will always pay the higher bill for good customer service. Politeness, courtesy and professionalism has value and I will always pay for it. Kearsley was prompt, polite and professional. That's who I'll use from now on.

We recently (Dec. '25) purchased a home from an elderly widow in Millcreek. She had new heating and…read moreA/C installed in (Sep. 25) but in June we started the A/C and it froze the evaporator coil. Our regular HVAC came out to inspect it and determined that it was low on refrigerant. Also, the main concern was that it was mounted improperly between 2 sheds with inadequate ventilation. Anderson HVAC sent out the tech that installed it and he said that he wouldn't have installed it there if it was his home. The opposite side of the shed has ample space and is open. He charged the low refrigerant and said he could give me a bid to move it to the correct location. He told me that it didn't have a permit from Millcreek City and Millcreek told me that "he absolutely needed a permit" especially because of the electrical shut off that was installed. It never would have passed inspection mounted in it's current location. It was installed illegally and improperly.

The refinance process was taking an extreme amount of time and it was getting hotter by the day. (it was now the 2nd week of July!!!!!) They came in and saved us just the nick of time...... before we melted :) (AKA ..2 days days before the temp reached over 100 degrees).
