I had a local company come out to bid on some furnace work after the company I had a service subscription with missed something big, but they gave me bad vibes, very sales-focused. Given my track record with service pros, I decided to just tackle it myself. Fast forward to last night: I woke up at 3am in a panic wondering if I'd done it all wrong and convinced we would die from carbon monoxide poisoning. This morning I called SOS Heating and Cooling, and honestly, this is the kind of service that reminds you good people still exist in this industry. Jake came out the same day. He actually listened to my concerns instead of talking over me. He walked me through everything, put my mind completely at ease, and (here's the kicker) he's the only HVAC professional I've ever met who didn't immediately try to upsell me on seven different things. Capable, honest, sympathetic, and straightforward. That's it. That's what good service looks like. SOS Heating and Cooling has earned a customer for life. They'll be my go-to for anything plumbing or HVAC from here on out. If you're in the SLC area and need someone you can actually trust, I can't recommend them enough.

They also provided us with at 3 options to fix the original problem plus cost options to prevent the future problems from happening. Jim (the cost guru) had excellent customer service and was so willing to help in any way he could. Kevin (the inspector) was very knowledgeable and answered all of my random questions that came from being a first time homebuyer. This is now my favorite company to go through and I look forward to working with them in the future.

To our recollection we have never posted a negative review, but our experience with Blue Best…read morewarrants one. We met with Blue Best late in 2024 to discuss our concern with air temps in our house, specifically temps in our living room and kitchen, which have high ceilings and southern exposure and become uncomfortably hot in summer. We were very clear about our concern, and the salesperson spent hours assessing our home and assured us his proposed system would solve the problem. We accepted the ~$14,000 bid to install a heat pump solution based on that assurance. By summer 2025, the living room and kitchen were still too hot on most sunny days. Despite many service visits and repeated adjustments (baffles, registers, fan speeds, etc.), the issue was never resolved. Blue Best ultimately stated the system was operating as designed and implied the problem was with our home, not their installation.  In our opinion, Blue Best is very good at selling a solution, but not so good at ensuring that solution meets what the customer needs. Two independent HVAC contractors opined: -Our ductwork is in good condition. -The thermostat, furnace, and compressor Blue Best installed were not properly matched. -Basic industry-standard load calculations (e.g., Manual J) were apparently not done, which would have shown the system was undersized for our home's layout, windows, and sun exposure. Blue Best has declined to remove the system or refund our payment, instead relying on fine print in the contract. We are now pursuing legal options. We have since spent ~$12,000 on a mini-split system from another contractor, which works as intended. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Blue Best and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

He came out, confirmed our AC's time of death, and arranged for Rich to come out and provide estimates for a replacement. Rich was here (again, within half an hour) to measure the house and provide us with a few options to choose from. Since I had to be away for an appointment and my husband had been supervising the visit, Rich texted me to make sure I got the quotes and answered my questions quickly and efficiently. We made our decision within the hour and the team bent over backwards to make time to install it on Tuesday. Corbin and Jesse showed up right on time today and worked through lunch to get our new AC system up and running. They were efficient, friendly, and very helpful. The AC is working fabulously and everyone (including our cat) is so grateful not to be living in a sweat box anymore. I love True Pros! They're fast, communicative, and fairly priced.
