I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Extraordinary Smiles was concerning enough that I feel other parents should be aware. I contacted the office to get information about my daughter's dental appointment. Despite the fact that I share legal custody, I was initially told I was not listed anywhere in her chart and that they could not release any information to me. This required multiple emails and calls just to verify basic information about my own child's visit. During that interaction, a staff member began referencing a different child's name while attempting to locate my daughter's information. I stopped the conversation immediately because it appeared that the wrong chart may have been pulled up. That kind of situation involving children's medical records should never even come close to happening. Eventually I was able to speak directly with the dentist to clarify my daughter's appointment, and the information I received from the dentist differed from what had previously been communicated to me. The overall process left me with very little confidence in the administrative handling of patient records. Parents trust healthcare providers with sensitive information about their children. Based on my experience with the office staff, the confusion around patient records, and the difficulty simply obtaining accurate information, I have decided to move my daughter's care to another dental provider. read more

I am shocked, My tooth broke off in the back of my mouth SMILES caped a few years ago. The hole top tooth broke off and a sharp shard cutting into mouth and could not talk. I was so thankful when I called and it was closed I had a immediate response by message, I could not talk but I was able to communicate by messages. I was blown away with 0 response back from messaging and (3 days later) I was able to somewhat talk and she told me (I HAD TO TALK TO A REAL PERSON AT SMILES) Not to make an appointment or communicate through messaging. WHAT!!!!!! Now I find out ER wont pull, they will only suggest where I might get help. Todo I don't think where in the US anymore. Tooth broke off Wednesday calling and texting. Today stated calling Friday lunch time still can't get in anywhere 2 hrs away not even the ER. do not go to this dentist!!! he is a grifter and he does his best to focus on maximizing his insurance billables NOT focusing on doing what's best for the clients - in my opinion. Went there with what's called a "hot tooth". The assistants took x-rays and eventually I was written a prescription to kill the infection before extraction. I cannot recall what it cost me at the time, but it was a solution for a headache inducing toothache. I beat the infection, go back for the extraction and am told that the tooth extraction would be approximately $400 AFTER insurance. AFTER my insurance was charged, it would cost me approximately $400.....(I wrote it twice because I'm still offended by the suggestion). I immediately left the building. AS PER USUAL,they tried gaslighting me, but I told them to go eff themselves in a very stern yet cleverly worded way - with zero profanity used! Went to another dentist....$15-20 bucks...not even kidding.....I still have the receipt. ALSO, this dentist was spiteful and vindictive. He took his sweet time forwarding my ALREADY PAID FOR x rays. I think he finally figured out that I was setting him up for not only a lawsuit, but setting him up for his industry's ethics board and the rejection of his license to practice. I called my insurance provider multiple times to have them reach out to the dentist asking for my x rays. I had the new dentist calling asking about my x rays - creating a paper trail by multiple sources. Eventually he figured out what I was doing and he FINALLY sent my x rays. Scumbags don't like being called out for their scumbaggery.....but we consumers are tired of being manipulated and exploited. I have receipts for any libel suite this dentist might want to think about bringing.....if he's smart, he'd want to avoid a counter suite. If you go to this dentist - especially after reading this, then you deserve to be exploited. read more

I took my Mom to them, after my Mom got a mailing from them, saying how great they are. She got a tooth pulled that bled for 2 days and a temporary cap on a chipped tooth. They made an appointment for three weeks, when the permanent cap was supposed to be there. We went to get the cap put on, she was in the chair when they realized they didn't have the cap, so they rescheduled her for the following Monday. Friday came and they cancelled the appointment and rescheduled it a month later, so my Mom will have a temporary cap for almost 8 weeks. read more

The first time I called I had to leave a message asking for an appointment asap for a toothache. Three days later someone called back and left me a message, too late. A few weeks later I called to make a general check up appt. A man I spoke with said the office manager was out to lunch and would call me back later. It has been about three weeks now, I don't think they are going to call. read more

I messaged the office to see if they are accepting new patients and a call was quickly returned with a message stating that they are accepting new patients. I returned the phone call promptly, and indeed they are accepting new patients but can't schedule a cleaning for at least a year. I needed other dental work and they said they could most likely schedule me for an exam the following week and gave me a date and said they would return my call by the end of the business day to let me know a time and they still haven't returned my call. Not very professional. At least provide a courtesy call to say that you clearly aren't accepting new patients or some form of communication would have been the professional thing to do! read more
