They informed us that we needed additional parts, and insisted we pay the $330 invoice IN ADVANCE. We refused to pay for an incomplete repair, so we paid them the $75 for a service call, and we were informed that they would be back out on Monday to finish the repair. They did not return the following business day or answer our phone calls. This is the most crooked business I have ever seen. All the reviews about being scammed, being price, gouged, and doing a bad job are all correct. They came out to my house and immediately told me I needed an extra part To install my stove top. They return later to install the stove top and I kept asking where the part was and he said he had it. I let them work. The stove top is installed. He showed me how it turned on and it worked properly, but he managed to do the "smoke &mirrors trick on me" when I wanted to look under the cabinet for the extra part. He pointed out what looked like a new coil that wires would run through and got my attention elsewhere. After he left, I looked under only to see that that part had wires running out of it not securely positioned like most electrical work is done. A lot of tape was wrapped around the wires. And for this, he also charged me an extra amount for installation because it was an electrical appliance he was installing.AND he wanted cash. Fixed our fridge - sort of, but not really. It will cool, but it will not get down to the appropriate zone for proper refrigeration. The technician kept insisting it was the thermometer in the fridge, so I bought several other, well-calibrated thermometers that all indicate that the fridge is not getting cold enough. The technician was responsive at first, but then stopped answering our calls or messages, which seems to be a common theme with reviews. Going to report them to the BBB. Do NOT use them. Without even looking at our fridge, he automatically ordered new parts that were conveniently not covered by the warranty. Do not use this business. I contacted them for warranty repair work to my washer. This business does not return calls. The technician arrived a week after the part was ordered with a defective part. A second part (since the defective part could not be used) was ordered. The morning after the second part was due to arrive, three customer service representatives for the washing machine manufacturer informed me that the part was delivered to Extreme Appliance the day before by UPS. The technician claimed the part never arrived. He also claimed not to be able to reach anyone with the manufacturer about it though I had no problem reaching three people there about the part. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I was assigned to extreme appliance repair for my refrigerator repair through my home warranty company. They had no issue coming to my house for the diagnostic visit and collecting my $70 payment from the home warranty company. They also tried to convince me to pay them directly for the repair and not to use the home warranty because they claimed they would give me a lifetime guarantee on the parts and that the home warranty company would not. Very shady. However, they did not show up for the actual repair. I called for days after they no showed before I was able to reach them and they only picked up after I blocked my caller ID. They told me their technician had a bad car accident and was in the hospital and that the refrigerator part was damaged in the accident. If this was the case, I pray for this man and his family and hope that he is okay. I'm just not sure why I had to harass this company for several days with calls and emails before they informed me of this. When I finally reached them, they apologized and said they would come back in a few days with a new part (that they would order). They again no-showed for that appointment as well, didn't call, and haven't answered any of my calls. They also only seem to schedule appointments on Thursdays, and then don't show up. This company is fraudulent. They come for the diagnosis just to collect the $70 and to convince you to work with them directly and cut out the warranty company (so that they can charge more money). read more

Our home warranty used this company to repair our stove and refrigerator. I had to work so my wife stayed home to meet them for the initial inspection. They sold her a water filter for $52 plus a $43 installation fee. This filter sells for $13! When they came back to install the parts I explained that we had five filters on our home and didn't need the $95 filter. They installed it anyway. This is in my opinion a deceptive practice. I would have given this company five stars until recently, which is why they get two stars instead of just one. First the good: They had come to our house a couple of times at the recommendation of our home warranty company to fix a washing machine, and had gotten the job done when another company had not. They explained things clearly and were responsive. It did, however, take several days for the part to come in and to schedule subsequent visits to fix the issue, which should have been a sign, but the washer was fixed. A year later, when our dishwasher was having issues, it turned out that the warranty company no longer worked with them, but I decided to hire them anyway and pay the costs because they seemed knowledgeable and honest. Big mistake. The tech fixed the issue quickly, but did something strange with the washer hoses, basically disconnecting and changing the drainage location and cutting off a large piece of hose. I don't know much about this kind of thing, but from reading online, it seems like it wasn't the right approach, and it might even be against building codes. Anyway, it got backed up within a couple of days, possibly because of this, and when I called to get them to come back (free of charge, as per their policy), they scheduled a date four days away. The next day, they left me a message saying they had to cancel that appointment, but didn't give details on how to schedule another appointment or when they could come back out. I called back for three days straight, leaving messages asking to make another appointment. No answer and no response. At this point, I was without a dishwasher and had to call someone else to fix it. I sent an email on their website explaining the situation, and the next day, they did call to make an appointment, but with no explanation or apology for dropping the ball, leaving us without a working dishwasher for several days for something that the repairman probably caused. read more

My wash machine quit draining and I received a recommendation from a co-worker for Extreme. Despite that they are all the way in Alvin, they came out to my home in Cypress on Saturday. They showed up within the window given me with more than enough time to assess the issue and correct it. Unfortunately, they didn't have the drainage pump on hand that was needed for my machine. I don't see this as an issue. They ordered the part and returned in a timely fashion when I rescheduled with them to come out the following Tuesday. The techs were courteous and fixed the problem. They then proceed to say that they need to order parts that seem to take months to come in. Once they have "received" your parts, they skip your appointments, and will never answer your calls, as they know why you are calling. We have filed a complaint with our insurance company to hopefully have them removed from their approved vendors list. Initially showed up, diagnosed the problem and said he will order the parts. It took them over 6 weeks to order the parts, and when he showed up again (After numerous calls from us) he realized he does not have all the parts. We had to wait 2 more weeks for them to get all the parts. After calling them over and over (They never answer or return your calls), they send the technician again. Guess what? His car broke down on the way (Or so they said). Waiting again for a new appointment - they don't call to schedule, we had to call again and again. The next appointment, the technician calls and says he had an accident on the highway and that his car was towed. Now the parts are in the car that was towed. They never call to apologize and reschedule. We had to call again and again to try and get the technician over. A never-ending story 2 1/2 months to repair a dishwasher. Stay as far away from Extreme Appliance. They are not to be trusted. They sent a technician out yesterday and I was told it would be within 4 hours and he didn't arrive until 6:45pm which I didn't make a big deal out of it. He inspected my refrigerator and said it was burnt in the back and the power surge had caused it. He stated he would submit the parts request to the warranty company and will come back install parts. I called the next day and spoke with a Jessica after several attempts to reach them she finally answered the phone with an attitude. I just asked why the tech haven't submitted the claim to the warranty company and she stated they have 24 hours to submit the claim and he was still researching. She didn't like me asking why it took so long and 30 minutes later received a call from the tech and he said they didn't approve the repairs because he lied and told them the damage didnt have anything to do with the power surge and he totally flat out lied. I had several people @ my house and they know he said it and couldn't believe he changed the diagnosis because I was only trying to see why it took him so long to submit the claim.
