As a three-time returning customer that had many family and friends that also purchased there: I was promised a "family" price on the installation of a remote starter on my newest car. I was terribly disappointed when my "family" price turned out to be $68 MORE than a competitor's ad. I guess I got no discount and no family price nor did I get a copy of the product warranty or a product box. I paid cash for the supposed "discount". I am a Trans woman and when I stopped in a week later to question the price, I was greeted with a long and condescending "Sirrrrrrrrrrr" coming from that smug face of his. Really? Who does that? His prior girlfriend needed a kidney. There was NO ONE that stepped up to the plate in the several years that the appeal was posted on social media. I did! I went into the hospital twice for his girlfriend for two blood tests. So was I wrong in assuming that I'd be treated right at his store? Guess so. I took time off work and paid for gas and parking. This all coming from a guy that posts pictures of himself with his friends on his boat in the Bahamas. He also has several expensive Hot rods. I'm not denying anyone their affluence; simply pointing out what type of person you would be dealing with at that store. I seriously doubt the validity of these five star reviews. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!! Super Disappointed, not even sure where to start. * Was quoted $400 for a 4 gauge Wire Kit. Bought same one for $86.00 on Amazon * Told to purchase 6x9 speakers. We did and was told they were wrong at checkout. (Was also condescended with the response: "everyone knows that car takes 6x8's") * Upon Dropoff, Told the gentleman was here to install Sub/Amp and Headunit. Gentleman got noticeably angry and said he only had me down for subs and amp (not the head unit) * Explained I came in person and also discussed it with the guy on the phone. He "pffffd" me and said "idk if we can get this done". Side note -The stock head unit comes out to install wires, so all he had to do was re-install the new unit (2 screws, 2 trim panels on Lincoln Aviator) which we purchased the Wire kit for * Received call few hours later with a Quote for $550.00 for full install and we say ok. * Receive Second call couple hours later and told Cars done. EXCEPT for the Amp and Subs (the main reason I was there) Was Charged 280.00 for the head unit install but they didn't install subs or amp. ZERO STARS! Stay Away! Extreme Car Audio did a complete overhaul July 2019 of my entire 2019 F-150 audio system and added a sub woofer and amp. What actually was installed was what they had on shelf, and not what was written up in itemized statement AND paid for as written in original statement. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR AUDIO INSTALL! The entire audio system was never tuned, balanced, or grounded properly by their technician Jordan. When I followed up with Extremely Poor Car Audio to continue my system upgrade in May 2020, their technician I spoke to, Jordan, who was the same technician in 2019, requested I opt out of using the Weymouth Shop and deal with him directly. He informed me the owner Don "Isn't honest or reliable to what he says or writes up in estimates." With that info, I chose to use Jordan once again to fix the issues, as he was original installer I had from 2019. I made a huge error! Jordan on his own, ended up even worse, and completely destroyed what he had installed the year before! In the end it took me almost 1 year to get my custom audio system to perform as expected, and it only performed as expected when I finally went to another audio installation company in Stoneham Ma. I have an older Lincoln Town Car that the stereo died in. I contacted more than a few stereo installers that told me everything from, oh that has an amp in it and needs special wiring, to I'll call you back tomorrow, never to hear from then again, to we can but it will be between 500$ to 700$ . I happened to be in the neighborhood and saw Extreme and went in . Don was extremely helpful and said no problem,set up a time for install and was great!! And the cost was more than reasonable!! Previous to my visit I bought a cheap amazon radio and had it installed by a mobile installer. What a waste of money! Then I went to Best Buy in Kennesaw- what a waste of time. Went into extreme and explained what I needed. Guy up front laid it out for me and gave me an estimate, set an install and gave a deposit. Had it installed, there was a glitch with my trailer brake, this was due to the previous installation. They had me come in right away and fixed the problem. Works great! While I was waiting for my truck a guy came in to get a radio and parts for his amp. The front guy spent a ton of time with him and even wrote out instructions on how to hook up his audio system. I had a really positive experience with Extreme Car Audio this week. Had made an appointment to get a remote starter installed by a guy from craigslist and he flaked out (Just-In Audio, Wareham). Called Extreme in the morning and spoke to the owner Don. He was really helpful and knowledgeable about his products. He fit me in that day and had a great Viper remote starter installed pretty fast (less than an hour). He also explained how it works, some tech behind it, and gave me the reassurance of a good shop being behind the install vs a fly by night guy. At first glance my boyfriends system hook up seemed to be installed properly at a good price. Through time he experienced nothing but issues, and a short time at that. They did not ground the amp against the metal which is the proper way but grounded it against paint which made the amp burn out and literally melted the fuse. They ran the power and audio wire together on the same side so you could clearly hear the engine running through the speakers. Terrible job , service seemed nice but they clearly do not do an efficient job. Even referred a friend who experienced the exact same issues !!!! read more

I lost my car key and starter fob so I went here to purchase a new fob. I was bummed out from having already spent $410 to get a new key but I must say I was pleased to hear the fob was only going to be $50. The new fob was programmed as I waited which was only about 10 minutes. Staff were friendly. read more

Very unfortunate for Extreme Car Audio to receive this rating considering I had a great first experience. About a year ago, I brought my own stereo deck to be installed here. The guys were very helpful and even waited for me when I was running late for my appointment. Everything was done in a timely manner and pricing was fair. Now more recently, my deck was stolen from my car so I needed a new one installed ASAP! I go nuts driving without music, I felt miserable. I called Extreme Car Audio right away asking when is the soonest date I can come in. The employee told me to call back the next day to see if they have parts/wires for my car. I called back the next day, same response from another guy... by then I was irritated that I had to wait another day to know. After the third call and an employee being extremely rude and blatantly annoyed with me, I gave up. I was highly disappointed considering they were extremely helpful last year. During that whole week while I waited for the damn place to give me an answer to see if they can even install my deck, I could have went to Best Buy to have it installed the same day. That is actually what I ended up doing, kudos to Best Buy I will be returning whenever I need anything installed. read more

The man who owns the shop told me he used to be in a band so his hearing isnt that good...not a smart choice to open an audio shop??!! I had my speakers replaced, and heard no difference after the installation. Customer service is definitely not something he has any experience in with his paying customers. The answer was $500. When it comes to the bill you going to see additional fees for parts. So what I'm paying $500 for ? For an empty box that shows the model number of the remote starter? But the best part is when I went to pick up the car with a two way remote starter, instead of 2 - two way remotes were 1 one way remote and 1 two way remote. One way remote on the 2 way remote starter? This is a joke. I did show to the owner Don the price tag where was written down 2 - two way remotes, the answer from him was I don't care. Rude. Fourteen years ago my wife requested a remote starter for Christmas. At that time there were a dozen installers in the area, including the new car dealer (Jannell), who wanted $600.00. Not having the $600.00, I checked around and found Extreme who had the best warrantee and a price less than half of what Jannell Ford was charging ! Five cars later, Extreme has serviced all vehicles in the family with only one problem (which they repaired while I waited in the showroom) ! I can see why they are still in business.... the best brands, and they service what they sell....... while 90% of the other installers are long gone. read more

Broke the rear doors on my truck and used a glue gun to fix them but never told me and the glue didnt fix the broken clips just a cheap hack job. They stripped out screws and replaced them with big bolts. not the look i or anyone was going for seeing this was done on my tailgate. My amps weren't run correctly so when volume is up over 15 the speakers cut out because the amps weren't installed correctly. I can only imagine what else i will find. Th installer is a hack and doesn't give a crap about the cars he works on. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone! When I brought this up to the owner he told me to get the parts to fix the doors and he would fix them. Parts are 80$ why should I pay for them if his hack broke them?? And why would i let that hack touch my truck?Also no apology or anything and all this shop did was take my money and do a horrible installation!!! read more

Where to begin.... there's so much that's SO wrong with this place! * Phone quote for stereo install -- $50 labor plus incidentals they might need but won't know til they see the car and stereo. * Request for iPod connector quote (iSimple) when car is dropped off early in the morning -- don't know, says Skippy the Counter Guy, we'll have someone call you (and he writes it in the book). * No one called. I phone in to check status. Told car's "all set". What about iPod connector? Oh, I didn't know you wanted that too. Well, I did, so how much? $100 for iSimple and another $50 labor for install. Whoa! You couldn't do this all at once? While you already had the car in? No, it's a totally different thing. Totally different connections. Ok, fine. (Defeated) * Pick car up. Get nailed for $222. (ummm, rip off!) Again, inquire as to labor costs. He explains how the stereo was already in and the car was in the lot. Yeah but you never called me, which your guy wrote down in the book. Genius strolls over to book to check it out. Lo and behold, there is the note to call me. I didn't see that; he didn't tell me, he says. Hmmm, not my problem. We don't make much money on these things, says he. Yeah, I can tell by the look of this shop, your tricked-out truck and your souped up website. You're really struggling to make ends meet, I can tell. * Leave with wallet $222 lighter and NO AC coming out of the vents due to the quality work they do. Do a 180 and it takes them twenty mins to figure out what they messed up. Should've charged him $50 for wasting my time! * Next day, call Truck Guys and Boomerz (both in Weymouth), explained what I wanted and asked for rough quote for labor. Both said it would be an hour to do both because they already would have the car in and opened up, so no need to charge more labor. * Call him to explain my feelings of being taken advantage of and give him one more chance to make this right before I elevate it to the next level, especially since two other reputable establishments quoted me seemingly more honestly. Alright, let's split the difference. Fine. * He takes credit card info to refund agreed-upon amount. And guess whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? No refund; he charged me AGAIN! Walked in a little after 5:30 tonight and could tell the person behind the counter was ready to go home. The owner? He (the owner?) )seemed to want my business at first and then seemed to tire of my presence very quickly after I told him I wasn't looking for anything terribly fancy for my 8 year old car. He was also very quick to tell me that he only had a few days open next week to do a radio install next week and was even quicker to say that he books up for weeks and months as Christmas approaches. This tired aggravated person (due to Trump being elected president?) ultimately told me that downloading music to my phone or using Spotify may be my best solution. Stay away. I fell for their discounted gift card. Purchased about $1,200 worth of equipment from them and had them install in my jeep. When I went to pay the final balance, I presented my gift card -- Don says I should have presented before he quoted. Don then says he has to check my install. This is what he said "good thing I checked, we installed a part (that I didn't ask for) and forgot to charge for it". So my install price went up, nullifying the discount I thought I purchased. I bought from them thinking I was supporting local business and getting a warranty. I could have saved $500 buying on Amazon -- same equipment and warranty. well, i removed my original review, i spoke to the owner, he promised to take car of the issues, call him monday, he's busy we will have to figure when we can do it. the "do it" now is blown right front speaker, but the front amp seems to be blown now as well and i have a 12 not powering up at all. i didn't spend a lot in comparison well to do folks , that said i spent over $ 3700 for my equipment, so i texdet him, first thing said by him,"were getting killed w remote seats not sure when he could it.. first review i removed i explained how one of his installers was screaming at my, for what i'm still not sure. anyway he's got ZERO time for me. i feel like a fool trusting again for the same results, now i have a ed's then 1 year old and doesn't work!!! and they put new sales over paid sales.. like i'm no one. so if you'd like to spend too much, hope nothing goes wrong it's not remote season. i have to find someone who can repair my 3500 mistake... how can companies do this? i want to support local shops... personal item before my system was installed i offered, no strings to help someone with an amazing gift... that means nothing i might be the bad guy but i can't afford a 3709 system fall be the wayside, can you? I was given a car starter that was purchased at best buy as a gift. When I called best buy to set up the installation I was told that they were not familiar with the wiring/firmware of my 2014 Mazda CX5. I brought the starter to extreme car audio and they were very accommodating to install the starter purchased at best buy. Used Extreme now twice to replace existing stereos inside of classic cars. First was a 1990 Defender 110 and the second was a 1970 Chevy Blazer. In both cases, they recommended and crafted an audio solution that gave us great sound and didn't break the bank. Didn't want to cut into to cars and any way and they worked around that requirement. Elizabeth L. 1/9/19 The radio and back up camera suddenly died on my 2013 Chevy Equinox. I brought the car to the dealership who recommended I take the car to Extreme for radio repair. The technician (Donny) said he would have to order parts for the radio. He told me the parts came from China which he later denied saying. His next step was ordering a part from Ebay. After 2 1/2 month he installed the part and told me to bring it back to the dealer as the radio had to be "activated". I took it back to the dealer and the radio did not activate.There was a $100.00 fee for this failed diagnostic service. The next step was Extreme was going to order a less expensive radio that he could install below the existing radio ( why below I don't know). Ten days went by and I called for an update on the radio which was supposedly ordered. The Extreme technician, Donny, said he was booked solid for the next month and did not have time to order a radio and could not even discuss this for the next month. I asked why I did not have a place in the line of his busy schedule as we had been dealing with the matter for two months. He rudely said that he could not get a radio or do anything at this time. I feel that this is the poorest service that I have ever seen in a business. I definitely DO NOT recommend Extreme Car Audio for any type of service. read more

I have never run into a business that doesn't want my business!!! But, I found this one. After installing a car starter that has a lifetime warranty I can't seem to get this owner to fix it. A lifetime warranty isn't worth anything if the company won't honor it. I highly recommend that if anybody reading this is thinking of going here, be very careful. Got the auto start there, and had it installed there. They did do a 1/2 way decent job. As in it's installed & it works. It could work better (car door needs to be manually unlocked when the remote starter is on.. some other small issues) but gosh were they rude. Worst service I have ever received at a store. Went in and they said that someone had called to cancel my appointment the day before. Coincidently, a new appointment had appeared over mine, clearly showing they just cancelled mine for another persons. I was very upset because I waited weeks for this appointment. Not nice people, bald guy told me it cost 300$ to install a car stereo deck even though it was only a few wires. All in all, you have better luck going to every other place than this one unless you want to be disappointed then go here. read more

Water had gotten into my trunk & damaged the radio amplifier,& after that, we found out the tuner was also water damaged. This process took about 3 months because the parts had to be shipped out for repair. Upon getting the tuner reinstalled, I noticed the trailer hitch ball and bar was rolling around worse that normal in my trunk. Upon checking it out, I found that someone had bothered to unscrew the hitch bar from the ball, left the ball, but took the bar. I know it was there, because it's been there since 2014, no one goes in my trunk, & I had just been in my trunk before dropping it off, and the only things in my trunk are that trailer hitch ball with bar and the car manual. I contacted the owner, Don about it. He said he talked to the repair tech who denied taking it. I don't know who took it - could have been Don himself for all I know. All I can tell you is someone over there stole my trailer hitch out of my car, and after contacting them 4 times over it, nothing was done except denying it. They are thieves. If you bring your car there, don't leave anything in it. Personally, I don't support businesses that do stuff like that. They will rip you off. read more
