If I could give no stars I would. I took my 6 month old Maltipoo here for her first full groom after being puppy groomed 3 times elsewhere. I explained my puppy's likes and dislikes to Kendra and she told me it may take her longer but she would go at my dogs pace. I let her know I would compensate her for any extra time, it was very important that our puppy have a good experience. When I picked up my puppy I was told there were no issues, that she did really well and only had a couple puppy wiggles that were normal. 3 days later we had to take our dog to the Vet because her eyes looked like they were bleeding. He was very concerned about excessive pressure and her having possibly been choked. Kendra was not present when I went to the shop to pick up my refund. The owner made threats of an Attorney because I posted my review and photos to warn this community of our experience. My puppy's temperament has changed- at the end of the day it's my fault that my puppy was harmed- I chose the wrong place to do business. read more

Over the years I had heard mixed reviews about this grooming place, but then I learned this is like a human salon in that groomers rent their booth space. So while someone might not click with one groomer, there are about 4 groomers to choose from. I also like that when you walk into the place, you can see all the dogs and groomers working. Bathing station is behind a wall. Dogs are individually crated when needed. When I called to request a groomer, the owner recommended one who had availability and was willing to work with my special requests. Having read a negative review, I was a bit hesitant but willing to try. Since then, I've learned that disgruntled review wasn't fully accurate. I have watched the groomer multiple times and she has been gentle in her handling. She does a good job asking questions to confirm her understanding about what I am asking to be done is accurate. To date, she has done a great job from senior to puppy. Cuts what I want and leaves what I want. She is willing to adjust for special needs dogs. They were two hours late grooming the Dog and then I went there at 4:30 to pick her up and the place was closed, WTF. They forgot about the little dog in the kennel with no food or water. I moved to Boise from Chicago at the end of August and have been searching for a groomer this entire time because every groomer I called until this week told me that they refused to or were too scared/inexperienced to groom my 11-year-old Chow Chow. I even had one groomer say they'd have to shave her down completely! She is sweet and gentle but also has allergies and needs a good groomer to take care of her skin. I will NEVER go back here and almost didn't leave my dog there at all.So rude when I entered; and girl that came to see my dog who would be grooming her so rude and did not seem warm and my dog seemed uneasy. She didn't take the time to ask what I wanted or offer options. She did not try to help make my pet feel welcome and most pets already don't like the groomer. We will not go back. Then when I picked her up she was completely shaved and they said she tried to bite them and all this stuff and groomers have NEVER had a problem with my very gentle dog. Worst dog groomers ever. I took my border aussie in there and they brought her back with multiple patches and practically shaved her bald leaving her bushy tail and her long hair on her whole head looking like a poodle. It took them 3 1/2 hrs and our dog is not even 40 lbs yet. The worst part is after having her home for a couple of hours she is limping and can't sit down like she normally can. But...not anymore and only because of the owner (Sandy) and her lack of business ethics. Yesterday we got a phone call 10 min. ahead of picking up our dog from her groom and were told by the owner that due to her lease increase, our cost was jumping from $65 to $75 (same day increase) and that further cost after today would be $80! A Nightmare! they ruined my beautiful Pomerainian's hair! I took my 1/2 yr old Pom in for the " Boo" cut. I showed them a picture & they said they new it. when we went to pick him up, they shaved him down to the skin. they said they had to cut that close cuz he was matted. which he was Not & they should have called us & asked for permission first!! you are Never suppose to cut a Pom to the skin or cut his under coating! they jabbed him a couple times with the razor. His hair has NEVER grew back in 7 mo now! we still see skin where they jabbed him & his other hair that they cut on his back will not grow at all. they ruined my beautiful AKC Pom! Such a wonderful job of shaving and cleaning a very, very furry 14 year old spite type dog. Everyone was polite and my boy seemed happy to be there. I don't know about the bad reviews but remember we all have bad days. I definitely recommend them and they are my permanent groomer now. read more

Great place and friendly staff. Took my Maltese in and she looked great. Booked a trip for my shi-poo for 2 weeks later. It was a Saturday and they were running behind. I decided to wait rather than go home and come back again later. The owner sat and visited with me and offered $5 off for the inconvenience. I didn't take it, as they do such a good job, and for $35 are one of the best prices in town. For the "individual" that posted the rude comment about the owner, I can only say: do you know she's deaf and has to read lips? Perhaps there was some miscommunication? Never Never Again. I dropped off my dog for her 6 week grooming appointment a year ago. At 5 oclock I was called by the shop to say she was finished. I drove to pick her up and found the lights turned off and the shop was locked and closed. I pounded on the door with no answer. I panicked and drove home because I had forgot my cell phone. I was sick with worry that my dog was stolen or picked up by someone else. I got home and phoned the salon with no answer. As I was about to call the police, I found their business card that had a cell number on it. I called the cell number and told the girl that answered that the shop was closed and where was my dog? She said she would call the owner and see. She called me right back and said someone would meet me back at the shop. I drove to the shop and waited for someone to show up. When the person with the keys showed up, she turned on the lights and low and behold, my dog was still in the kennel in the front of the business. She said I'm sorry. Abby was so quiet I didn't know she was still here!!! She told me the fee and I paid it. crazy huh? She then gave me a Christmas coupon for $5 off my next grooming. No thank you!! read more

This is because of the high level of customer service they provide, the amazing job they do grooming my dog, and the way the listen to what our wants and wishes are. This is actually the third place I tried, and I guess "the third time is a charm". If you are looking for a place that treats your pets with respect, listens to what you want, and also has reasonable prices, then I would highly recommend EPGS!!! This was our first ever grooming experience and unfortunately a bad one. We brought in our cute golden doodle puppy for a trim and he came back with a shaved snout. I was in shock! I know the hair will eventually grow back, but feel they should have been more clear if they were going to make drastic cuts. We won't be going back. Be cautious using this groomer. read more

I have been taking my two Shih tzu's to Extreme Pet Grooming for over two years. I am here to confess that I let the girls hair get out of control at times, living in the country, my dogs have grown up thinking they are border collies. With that being said, I take responsibility for the first few " not so great hair doos the girls got." I didn't give them much to work with, add to that my dogs are spoiled so I'm sure it was a task to groom them! Sandy has done an excellent job in "training" my girls to be calm for their doo's, they come home happy and feeling good! Sandys staff has always been very polite and friendly. She is always courteous, friendly and gets out our pet's card to make sure we want the same cut as we had the time before. We, too, have had groomers that weren't friendly to customers or the pets but the owner is definitely NOT in that category.
