Trying out paintball was one of my bucket list. I was able to cross that off of my list during one of my friend's birthday party where we celebrated at Extreme Sports Complex Hawaii. One of my friends prepared the reservation and each of us got a paint gun, 100 pieces of paintballs, and protective gears (face covering and chest plate). The paint gun was heavier than we thought. They also have us a holder for the paintball pellets. The face covering was secure but the chest plate was pretty flimsy and doesn't have a straps to secure it to our body. Meaning, when it is a little windy, the chest plate would flap and hit our faces. At the Extreme Sports Complex, we had to play as a large group. We originally thought that we would play just among our groups, but we actually had to play together with other groups as well. We were a group of 10 people, and other groups were about the same size as ours. There were about a total of 40+ people attended that day. Throughout the day the referees would create a game scenario such as capture the flag, king on the hill, pros vs. amateurs, rangers vs. hunters, etc. Each rounds were different and a game would take about 15 minutes. We can choose to participant or sit out for that round. I do recommend to wear thick and long sleeves clothing as well as gloves because the paintballs pellets really hurt. For me personally, this is something I would not want to do again. The play area had shipping containers, wooden boxes, barrels, tires, etc. as the barrier. It was fine for a couple of rounds until the third round, someone shot my fingers and my knuckles started to bleed. I had to walk out during the middle of the game and one of the referees escorted me out of the playing field. The referees were very friendly and they prioritized safety above all else. The one escorted me out gave me a bandage and helped me carry my paint gun. He would also check up on me a couple of times before going back to the game. I had to sit out for a couple of rounds to take a break. By the time I was ready to participate the next round, it was past noon and the day got really hot. I had a hard time breathing during the middle of the round because of my thick clothing and the face covering. It was just me personally since I was never an athletic person and my stamina was not great. This place hours of operation is on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. They also sell cold drinks and foods such as hotdogs or nachos. They have 2 portable potty, where the female one locked and you need to request for the key. Overall, this place is great to try out and experience paintball. My friends did enjoy the games. The only issue we had were that there were experienced paint ballers, military personnel, and veterans that were great at the game that us amateurs (first time participants) had to go up against. It was literally a slaughterhouse for us amateurs. There is a new game for each round until they are closed. After that day, our group was bruised all over. Some had bruises worst than others.

    Midway to playing!

Had an amazing time with our group of friends! Our friend was leaving us, so as a going away party for him, we decided to try our hand and play paint ball! It was a lot of fun! They where very kind, and let us take breaks in between as long as we needed to! For our final game, we had the our friend that was going away do a game called "Ranger". They let our friend use our game masters special gun and we thought it was a really nice touch for him. It was a really memorable day for us, we will definitely be coming back again soon! Highly recommend for big parties and even small groups of 4, but the bigger the better!

The staff was amazing! we got lost and had to start at a later time and they were super accommodating. i came for my birthday celebration and all of staff was so sweet and let us go an extra round! it was definitely a memorable experience, would come back again. i'd recommend extra clothes cause the paintballs can be ruthless depending on the distance.

It can be very intimidating going to somewhere where everyone seems to know each other. It can also be very rewarding being invited to be part of that community. My kids wanted to try it out and Aunty Paulette was so welcoming that enough cannot be said about her and her genuine Aloha spirit. Aunty went above and beyond to make my kids feel comfortable, get them situated and advise them on the do's and don'ts. They preach safety, are thorough on detailing the rules and change up the games to keep things interesting. My daughter was so shy that she just froze on the field and didn't fire any paintballs and was stuck in one position in the back. I tried coaching her from the sidelines but she wasn't budging. All of a sudden one of the referees aka "Sumo" stood in front of my daughter and walked her to a bunker and literally showed her how to hide and pop up and down. She was still slow to pick it up but her confidence grew exponentially. Another wahine (Lovely or Lovelette) was extremely helpful as well as she manned the equipment table. I don't think they make a ton of money as a lot of people bring their own equipment so DO NOT bring your own paintballs or avoid any of their fees. Aunty Paulette you and your team are a blessing to all beginners. We will definitely see you again.

Came for airsoft, and they didn't disappoint. There were plenty guys of all shapes and sizes, and we all had a jolly good time. The rules were very reasonable, and the staff were so friendly that they blended in with us players while still doing their job well. Everything was as chill and friendly as advertised, which deserves a fat 5 stars or more in my book. Oh, and their shop? They got the best deals on the island, braddah. Better than Amazon.

Tall grass area of the larger field, multiple ways to cross over, makes for great concealment.

Me and my kid played airsoft here yesterday for the first time and were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and great layout of the field. All the employees were very helpful in directing us where to go and the steps of signing in and paying, as well as where to set up our things. The safety briefing was clear and concise, safety is clearly their top priority as well as the customers enjoying themselves. The area to set up was nice and shaded, our head ref Christian was very friendly and had the games running consistently and had enough variety in them to keep things interesting. The amount of other players on a Saturday was less than we were expecting but Christian told us this isn't normally the case and typically there were more players. The amount there was still plenty enough to have the games sufficiently full and everyone was very honest while playing. All the players were also welcoming and friendly while we were in the staging area and on the field, very nice feeling of compadre. We will definitely be back for more!

I attended a boys 14 year old bday party here today and must say I was impressed. Recommend you search Groupon first because they have the best deals for 2/4/6/8 participants that include the equipment rentals and 100 paint balls. Without a groupon expect to pay 45$ for equipment rental (which includes unlimited air) + paintballs (55$ for 2000). **You Must use their paintballs all others are NOT allowed** Today was Sunday they opened at 11am....however allow time to gear up and listen to the safety meeting the actual 1st games didn't start till about 1145-12. This paintball location can be found on Google maps pretty easily follow the signs its behind Costco kapolei towards kalaeloa side. Parking is provided there. Pros: staff was knowledgeable and friendly to both the regulars and newbies. -they are very strict on gun and mask safety which as a parent much appreciated -pretty well organized rental area and check in -multiple fields to play in that serves both beginners and advanced players -mandatory safety briefing before play -relatively affordable rates. 55$ for a case of 2000 paintballs sold there. 20$ entrance fee if you have your own gear and gun. IF not you can rent for 45$ -you can bring your own coolers with drinks and snacks just need to clean up after yourselves. -multiple covered tables however no lockers Cons: location is pretty far out on the westside but it's worth the drive! -no food service but you can bring your own TIPS: covered shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirts are a must. Might also be good to wear a cap or beanie under the mask rental. -bring snacks and water HAVE FUN! I plan to buy on Groupon and participate next time! My son and his friends had a blast!

Fun day with the fam, celebrating my nephews 12th birthday.

We bought a couple of Groupon and the whole family came out for our nephews 12th birthday. Some of our group had played paintball before but this was everyone's first visit to Hawaii Extreme Paintball. Everyone at the facility was super nice and helpful. We all checked in and were given guns, 100 paintballs each, a vest to protect your core and full face masks. With our Groupon we also got an additional case of ammo and it lasted us the rest of the day, although we didn't all play every game and if we had we would have needed to buy more. In addition to the equipment they give you, you are required to wear close toed shoes and I would recommend shoes with good traction that you aren't concerned about getting gross and dirty. I would also suggest long sleeves, long pants, a brimless hat, and gloves. Protecting your skin from getting hit is key! They give you a safety brief, emphasizing important rules such as never removing your mask on the field, where not to aim on a person, etc. The rules were thorough but not so restrictive that they keep you from having fun. Ok we are all geared up and ready to play! The field was pretty cool. A nice variety of shipping containers and smaller wooden structures to hide behind as you moved up the field. I think we played about 5 games and each game had a different objective. They divided us into teams, somewhat randomly, but you could ask to stay with your group if you wanted. There were always at least two refs on the field and they were there to monitor the game and help if you had any problems. My gun jammed at the beginning and the ref came right over to help. Outside of the game the facilities are pretty good. They only have porta potties and they did habey one reserved for ladies only which was nice, but of course a real bathroom would be even nicer. I changed clothes after playing and changing in the porta potty wasn't the most comfortable. They were still cleaner than most beach bathrooms though so I will give them that! They have a large covered area with plenty of tables to use. They also have a couple of covered areas you can reserve for your own party. It was nice that we didn't need to bring chairs or a tent or anything. Overall it was a really fun day. Some of us only played a few games and spent time observing games or just hanging out. We all got a few bumps and probably a few bruises but for the most part the paintballs are a quick slap and not an extremely painful experience.

Bleeding skin from bb shot thats over the fps limit

Great place but some people are going way over the fps limit. This one person shot my skin and now its bleeding

First time paint-balling and it was a blast. There was a scheduling mistake on their end that caused us to have wait for the staff to arrive for almost 2 hours while we were toasting in the sun. Everyone from my group was pretty upset and a few wanted to leave, but the staff member finally arrived and apologized. They made up for it by compensating free paintball rounds valued over $100. Now that's a real owner who recognizes their own mistake and makes up for it on their own. Other than that, there's ample parking, there're different games on 3 different fields. I wore long thick jean pants with a long sleeve shirt, a t-shirt, boots, and a hoodie jacket plus their thin vest equipment that's part of the rental. There's shade on the property and there's portable-potties. There are no lockers so secure ur items in your vehicle. There's no food places in the area so bring snacks unless u don't mind driving to the small malls. U can rent the equipment that includes the gun, unlimited air, the ammo container (pods) and holster, mask, and vest. The weapon is super easy to use and the staff here are real strict on safety so you'll be fine. The paintballs do sting when you're hit, depending where you're shot, but u just gotta "man up." Highly recommended to try this place out. They are good for kids too.

This is a very fun place to play paintball. The field was great and had many obstacles to hide and cover. The field was very fun to play in as it is very tactical. I went here with my boyfriend and had a super awesome time. Staff were very nice especially the referee. We competed against very competitive players and was very scary and thrilling. Apart from the many bruises and blood we had it was fun. Feeling the sharp pain when you get shot, the burning feeling on the affected area after hours of being shot and screaming on the field is common, but hey it was all worth the pain as it was very fun. My son has had a hard time figuring out what he wants to do as an extra curricular sport. He's…read moretried flag football, judo, soccer and basketball. He was really enjoying basketball and didn't seem too keen on soccer (and actually hated judo although he was doing it the longest). Enter Nemesis Soccer Academy, founded this past summer (2018) by Ben Villaflor, who was a great soccer player in Hawaii. My son first said he was not interested in playing but decided to give it a shot because he found a pair of soccer shoes that he wanted to buy (and I refused to get it unless he played club soccer). Ben's vision and philosophy might be different than other clubs. The focus at my son's age (8) is on development of the individual player. It is to develop skill at your age and your ability - giving you the tools to grow as an individual. Yes, you are very much part of a team, but you're developing your ability in order to be the most successful you can be when all is said and done. Focus and the goal at this age is not on winning and goals - it is about developing skill, protecting the ball, being aggressive on the ball, ball control, touches on the ball and all the good stuff that comes with it. Yes, they will learn more to the game as the years go on. The boys at this age are given equal opportunity to touch the ball in games, play different positions and learn from each other. I'm shocked by how much skill my son (and really all the kids on his team) have picked up and have been able to use in games, and how much they have grown just in 3 months. Many on the team came from previous club teams so I can't speak to how it differs as my son didn't play club soccer before. But I've seen so much growth, enthusiasm, smiling and great attitudes. The boys are developing friendships, confidence and so much more. In just 3 months, my son went from not wanting to play to someone who will not stop kicking the ball around... the house, the park, I've found the ball in his bed while he's sleeping - it's everywhere. He even wrote a paper in school about soccer! The coaches have been amazing and the parents are equally as amazing too! We're grateful for an opportunity to be a part of this club!
