If I could give Extreme Towing negative stars I would. My son's car broke down at his high school. We have roadside assistance, so we called our insurance company to have the car towed. We were told it would be 45 minutes to 105 minutes until Extreme Towing got here to pick it up. It has been over 3 1/2 hours and they are still not here yet. At the two hour mark my wife called them, at the 2 1/2 hour mark I called, at the 3 hour mark our insurance company called them. Extreme Towing does not have the ability to gauge how long it will take them to pick up your vehicle. Their revised estimates are consistently wrong. I wasted my entire afternoon sitting in a parking lot. This company is the definition of unreliable. Avoid Extreme Towing at all costs. read more

That moment of dread happened last night. My husband, Pablo put the keys in our Jeep and it wouldn't start. After some futile YouTube videos, he called me from my training class. I am a new AVP with a local bank in Audubon, just moved here from New England and this was the last thing we needed. We called Extreme Towing and within minutes a tow truck arrived. Next morning we found out he took the car to his shop claiming the dealer is closed even after I explained to him that the dealer instructed to leave keys in the drop bo. two days later he still has the car and when we wanted to pick it up the girl in the office said she can't release the car since they need to generate a bill for the two days and it may take three more days to generate the bill. I have sent a message to the owner that I am on the way there with the police and he released the vehicle immediately with a $1000 bill for tow and two days storage in an unsecured area. They got on scene and when I refreshed the service to see what stage of the tow they were at it disappeared and the service got sent to a different provider. So I called them to see what was going on with the status and she said "oh the driver was not able to tow your car, we didn't have the right tow truck out on the field. He was supposed to call you and let you know why he couldn't take your car" so I told her back No no one let me know at all. Roadside Assistance dispatched this company and the driver sounded like he was a child. He had no idea what a truck weigh station was or where it was even after giving clear directions. I mean come on people its the only freaking weigh station on 95 in PA. So basically this child, Tyler, left me stranded and State Farm had to dispatch another towing company, who knew exactly where i was and showed up in 15 minutes. Extreme towing in Aptos, Ca is a nightmare. Somehow they landed the contract to tow vehicles in Santa Cruz, Ca. They purposefully damaged my nephew's truck by removing the rail pad around the bed liner. It takes a pneumatic tool to do this. It was no accident. It wasn't done on the street somewhere. It was a reprisal because I asked them to run my credit card over the phone and save me a trip to their yard/office because I was really sick. They said they couldn't do it. I have worked retail for years and I know that it i possible to run a card for a customer over the phone. I mentioned that rather casually and they took offense to it. When I arrived there, two other big guys came into the office and just stood there for intimidation purposes. It was quite obvious. I paid them and they brought the truck around with the damaged side rail. The driver stated that "I! didn't do that", but his tone strongly suggested that he was only speaking for himself not the others. It was clear in his voice that he knew who did it. read more

Ok... so i didn't directly deal with their customer service and i actually haven't seen my car since it was towed so i don't know if everything on the inside is still there. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and rating them based off of what i dealt with. My transmission guy did all the scheduling to pick my car up from home and transport it to the auto shop. Now, I recently moved to Maryland and the auto Shop is in Phila,PA. 127 mile haul. I believe the charge was 350 (Unlike most other places trying to charge me around 550$) but I THINK that was based off of the fact that they were dropping a car off in Maryland, making the job a switch basically. The driver gave me a call when he was enroute to maryland. Then another to give me an ETA on when he was enroute to my car. Then another call when he was running behind. He arrived within the time he said he would. I was kept up to date and spoken to in a good fashion. I'll be updating this review after i get my car back. After waiting for 3 + hours, a tow truck showed up at my house. I used the All State Roadside Service Plan for the needed tow. I specifically REQUESTED the FLATBED truck be sent, but the regular wheel-lift type of tow truck showed up. The name of the tow driver was "ROB." Rob said his dispatcher did not say anything about the FLATBED truck. So he was not aware such flatbed truck was requested. In any event, when I told Rob that my car battery was completely dead and my several tries of JUMPING did not work and it needed to be towed to the SERVICE shop that I use, he said he wanted to try the Battery "STARTER PACK" to try to start the car. Well, I'll be damned.... His Battery starter (assume it was more robust, industrial strength Jump Starter) did the trick. Soon as he did that, the car started right up. Rob said my battery could have been completely drained if the dome light or the car door was NOT COMPLETELY shut leaving the interior light on. In any event,, he recommended that I drive around for about 30 min to get the battery recharged by the alternator. I followed his recommendation and the car is now back to normal. Rob saved me a costly trip to the Service Shop and I thank him for that. Rob also was very customer friendly and professional. Kudos for Rob, but the 3 + hour wait is terrible. And for that I am only giving 3 stars. Had the EXTREME TOWING provided me with an update of arrival time which is more accurate rather than a baloney time, I would have given higher ratings. But the female dispatcher giving some random time of arrival is totally not acceptable. Absolutely the worst towing company imaginable. They wouldn't allow my nephew to pick up his towed vehicle for 3-4 hours because "they were in a meeting" which caused him to be late to work by 2 hours or so. Then they wouldn't release the vehicle to him because they stated that I had to sign for the credit card charge. I know better. A huge amount of business is conducted daily by "over the phone" credit card transactions. I do it all the time for the company I work for and I told them so. All you need is the 3 digit code and the customers zip code to do it. This caused another delay in the process and required me to shut down my business to go down and sign for the charges. They pulled a stunt when I was picking up the car that prevented me from viewing the vehicle before picking it up. They said that we couldn't go up the driveway because a truck was going to back up and we had to clear out. The truck didn't back out for quite a while. They hurried us to accept the car and get out of the way quickly for this. They intentionally damaged my nephews' truck as recourse for my differing with them about being able to run my card over the phone. I have worked as a service writer in the auto industry and as an assessor of damage to vehicles for years. I could tell exactly how and when they did the damage. I am filing criminal and civil charges against them. read more

my insurance company/State Farm used this facility to tow my vehicle after needing Roadside Assistance. Initially they were great, advising they knew exactly what the problem was, nullifying a prior claim (from a rip-off Auto Shop) that my "catalytic converter was bad." I was ecstatic thinking I had FINALLY found an honest/efficient Shop for Maintenance... sadly, things did not end on that note. After having my car for week (when previously advised it would only be 2-3 days) I was told "the wrong part came in," moving the completion time (and day) several times, AND I had requested an oil change while my car was there... I was told "we'll throw that in for free because of the delays." Finally, when I was able to pick my Vehicle up today, I was told when I went to pay they forgot to change the oil, we're about to charge me for it anyway, and was told "they forgot." Then didn't know how much to charge me for everything, asking me how much I was told, and took $30 off for the oil change that was never completed yet one that I was willing to pay for. Driving home I received an alert on my phone advising my battery was extremely low, it is a brand new battery may be a month old. I called the shop and was told "they forgot to tell me that they forgot to turn off my car while it was up on the lift for a day, and in neutral. They had to jump start it this morning just to get it to kick over." This entire experience has been unprofessional, inefficient, and a waste of time and money... I'm disappointed things ended on this note seeing as they start in on such a good foot, however I would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more

This companies central dispatching is appaulling. My husband got a flat tire on his way to work the day after Christmas so, we called roadside help. Unfortunately the guy that came out couldn't get the tire off so, we needed to have it towed. Again, I called roadside assistance and they said that a tow truck from " Extreme Towing" would be there within 3hours and that someone had to be with the car in order to tow. So, I drove down to give my husband our car to get to work while I waited for the tow truck. After 3 hrs I called to see how much longer it would be. Did I mention that the heater wasn't working and it was freezing? When I got someone on the phone, Amy, she said 15 min. Then 45 min later my insurance company called them to see why I was still waiting and, Amy, told them that I gave two addresses and she didn't know which one to go to. Just to point out the facts, I had a cell phone on me, they had my number and how was it possible that she didn't know where I was when roadside assistance gave them the exact same address they had given the first guy that was called? He found me with no problem and quickly. Then, Amy, informs them that it'll be 30 min more. In the meantime thankfully my father-in-law drove to wait with me because I had been waiting on the Cottman Ave exit off ramp for 5 hours with no heat. When I attempted to contact them again, Amy, was extremely rude and hung up on me. So, yet again my insurance company tried to figure out what was taking them so long and yet again Amy said she doesn't have an accurate address. Which was a BLATANT LIE!! Regardless, how difficult is it to find a big black truck on the 95s cottman ave exit ramp? When my father-in-law attemtped to get some information and asked to speak to the driver, Amy lied yet again and said that they don't carry cell phones. REALLY, come on! What business that deals with drivers constantly changing locations wouldn't make sure they had access to their employees in route? It's not as if I've never had a car towed before. She, Amy, then began yelling at him demanding that he get out and find an address on the nearest building, when we attempted to get through her thick head that we were not near a building because we were on an off ramp she hung up on him. He called back and she began screaming at him telling him that she knows the area very well but if we don't give her an exact address she couldn't send anyone. So, he calmly pointed out that if she knew the area so well than finding us on the off ramp of 95s at Cottman Ave shouldn't be a problem for her, and then she replied by hanging up on him again. By the way my father-in-law is not in the best of health and he's in his late 60s. After the 4th call from my insurance carrier someone finally showed up. The tow truck operater was quiet, polite and efficient but after having been left on the side of the road freezing all morning and afternoon, having left my kids the day after Christmas with a babysitter was little consolation. I will never use extreme towing again! I would pay out of my own pocket before I ever rely on that company! Amy is by far the nastiest individual I have ever had to deal with!! I don't understand how any company could stay in business with such awful customer service. They came out 3 hours later, I asked if I could ride with them to the tow and drop me off with my car and they agreed. I thought they would just drop me off but I was wrong. Just like everyone else, I would give this company zero stars if I could. They were also more than an hour late from their quoted time when my car broke down in October 2014. I had to call roadside assistance multiple times to check up on their ETA. When they finally arrived the guy was originally helpful, telling me I could actually get my stalled car to the shop myself instead of having it towed. I asked if he would be able to follow me and possibly drop me back off at home since he was already scheduled for the trip to my garage in Langhorne. He said that he couldn't do that but that he'd follow me most of the way there to make sure my call didn't stall out again. I felt a little reassured at this and figured I'd just have to secure a ride home at that point.. until he turned the other way right out of my development.
