It has two large connected play structures, a swing set, see-saw, a sand box, tons of toys and bikes that have been generously donated for a chance at a second life. The place gets crazy busy though. The after work crowd on a weekday is enough to incite a panic attack - especially for a newbie playground mom like myself, and quite frankly, I'm petrified of even trying to go on a weekend. That's not to say there isn't room for everyone, though. With the plethora of benches and tables, there really is room for everyone. D There are tons of abandoned (okay: "donated") toys left around - for the sand box and for kids to ride on, play in, etc. which adds to the play options. I love the access from here to the pond; it makes taking a walk around the pond before or after the playground a nice option. Not to mention all the shops and restaurants right on Center Street as well. There is easily accessible parking behind the playground - it is the public parking lot in JP behind Blanchards. It is 2 hours only, but that is usually more than enough time to get in and out of the playground. It's nice to not have to troll around for a parking spot.

There was absolutely no information given about the drop off and pick up procedure. There is only one narrow road in/out. No information was given about early pick up and where to park, especially how to avoid the busses that arrive at least an hour early. My child told me that some of the camp counselors were "mean" to the younger girls, speaking to them in sharp tones and with belittling language. As a parent I also encountered some negative attitude from some staff. The program for girls who want to be camp counselors is severely lacking in direction and activities. The program describes that the girls will learn leadership skill and work with younger children. According to my child very little of those goals were fulfilled. Overall this was a waste of time and money, not something we would recommend to friends.

Learning gymnastics has been a big confidence booster, helps keep her in great shape, and has her practicing the moves she learns in enjoyment at home. She really enjoys SSGA, the coaches, and her teammates. Luckily the owner has done a tremendous job in going above and beyond to keep the gym clean and safe for all involved during the pandemic because it's been her saving grace, the only activity she's been able to participate in and community outside home and school.

I tried an adult gymnastics class at this location, and my trial was sort of a mixed bag…read more Starting with registration, the website mentioned the class was full but that drop-ins were possible, so I reached out about it. They were able to accommodate me which was great, and I paid my fee and got the paperwork filled out. (The paperwork was 100% as if I was a parent filling it out for my child. Kind of weird, but not the worst so I just moved on). When I showed up (maybe 10 mins early), there was no one there to greet me. The whole place was full of kids and I didn't see any adults, so I started to worry that I showed up on the wrong day or time, but once the class time officially started, I saw a group of people who were warming up on trampolines. Since I wasn't greeted and there wasn't anyone who was clearly in charge, I assumed class started. I interrupted two people who looked like they may work there, and they said the class had started - and I could go join the others. They gave me some simple instructions on how to warm up and then I was on my own. The class itself was most enjoyable because of the other attendees. They realized that I wasn't sure what to do and they helped me figure things out. The coach was less helpful and I felt very out of place- she never introduced herself to me, or to the other members of the class. I did pay $40 for the class, so I expected at least a greeting and maybe a little bit of guidance on how to work my way into things. The class does have a lot of different workouts and combination of floor exercise and bars, balance beam, etc. so I did feel like I had a decent workout and learned a little bit about gymnastics. Personally, I felt that the experience was fine, but I wasn't overly impressed with my first time, so I decided it wouldn't be a fit for a regular weekly class.

There are two tracks here: the competition track (levels 1-10) and the Xcel track which is more casual. Both will help your child build self confidence (one of their goals for the kids as they get exposed to performing and competing). Xcel is more relaxed, uses some teen graduate coaches more and is better suited if your child is very shy and not yet ready to compete. Usually these programs are 2xs per week for ~2hrs. Some of our daughters classes have moved along a bit slowly depending on the teacher and some are more formal. Competition levels are 3xs a week and very serious and get high level coaching. As an example if I could do the level 5 warm up routine I'd have the body of Adonis. These kids are fit. This program is more expensive and the kids compete often and may travel to compete. Level 10 is national level fyi. Overall they run a good show though we have experienced some of the issues in the 1 star reviews. It is safer than regular gymnastics and incorporates more ballet type dance with a gymnastics floor routine.
