18 months ago went in for Eye Exam usually covered under VSP insurance. Was asked to pay $79 at the time and rest would be covered by my insurance. Specifically asked if the $79 would be all that would be needed out of pocket. Was assured no other costs to me as my Insurance was covering the rest. Received a bill 18 months later asking for 0ver $250 more. Went in to the Maple Grove office and ended up settling for $55 which was appreciated -- although should have been $0. Staff friendly and understandably not their fault.... That being said Just a word of caution to beware of billing practices not quite in line with actual verbal assurances. "In writing" as usual a good practice. (18 months to receive a bill also makes a person wonder... was told they had just recently started using a new system) read more

Amazing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The Drs are wonderful and very professional.Highly recommend.

At first I thought they were great then the waiting started. 1 1/2 hour wait I got up and left. - this was the second time it happened. I feel my time is just as valuable as theirs. My eyes are not good I bought some contacts from Dr.McAdams I was told if the contacts did not work for me I would get a refund ( it was under a 90 day deadline) I had problems and lost one of the lens McAams replaced the lost lens then I never heard from him again. Time has run out so no refund. Shoddy way to do business. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 3 months. When I showed up this morning the Dr was not there this week. They said they tried to call and left 2 messages and a text message last Friday. After I check the logs on my phone. I never received 1 call and text . Someone isn't doing their job. Maybe I should bill them $50 for a no show fee? Maple Grove Eye Care sent me a link the morning of my appointment. I submitted information they requested along with health insurance and drivers license pics. Got to my appointment early and received a very luke warm welcome and they asked me to fill out all the paperwork again. I informed them that I had submitted early morning as per their request, the lady stated we need these filled out again...Waitng room was full of people waiting was very hot.. They overbook their appointments and must expect for everyone to wait an hour past your appointment time. What a waste of the trip and my time... read more

I don't like writing negative reviews, but here goes. DO NOT GO HERE. 1. They had my appointment time a half hour earlier than it actually was. Told me I was a half hour late but I had the correct time sent to me via text. They ended up squeezing me in after about a 20 min wait. 2. It took about four or five weeks to actually get my glasses. I think they were on a two week holiday break during this time. 3. When I finally got word my glasses were ready, the glasses lady said the office was technically closed that day but gave me times she would be there and available. I went during one of those times and she had already gone home, leaving me with two receptionists who had no idea I was coming but gave me my glasses. I did not get them fitted. 4. Called them 3 days ago to get a release form to send to a new eyecare place (since I don't want to deal with this place ever again.) I emailed back my release form that same day. Just called the new place to see if they have gotten the release form. SURPRISE - they haven't. Tried calling this place and it's just a busy signal. Seriously, don't waste your time or energy and find somewhere else. read more

Scheduled an appointment. Filled out the paperwork. Had my Drivers License (with Star and Veteran classification) and Insurance card photographed at the office. Was refused as a patient because I refused to give my SS#. Printed on my SS Card by the Social Security Administration is "for social security purposes, not for identification". This practice and the Doctors do not follow the Law. read more

It was a very odd experience. There were about 5 people behind the front desk just talking when I walked in. The receptionists were very helpful at the front desk and Dr. Neals was very kind and understanding to my condition, However there were a few instances that did not feel right to me. The room I was seen in did not have a door, so there was almost zero privacy when I was trying to talk with the doctor about my condition. When conducting the preliminary eye examinations, the attendant (who was also very kind), handed me a laminated page that contained lines, all with heavy religious themes and asked me to read them. This made me very uncomfortable and it seemed oddly out of place in an eye clinic. The entire experience did not feel like normal visits Ive had to clinics in the past and did not seem very professional. Most likely will not be back. read more

This is the 4th eye doctor that I've tried in the Treasure Valley... Alright. A few housekeeping things first. This site is also listed as Maple Grove Eye Clinic, but listed as closed. I believe that happened when a new doctor took over the practice. I'm technically the First to Review at this new listing...but also not really. :) I have had two eye checkups here. Both of my experiences have been about the same so I feel pretty comfortable in my rating. Firstly, I should say that I really like Dr. McAdams. He is very personable and friendly. He is the kind of doctor who remembers where you work, what vacation you took, how many kids you have. He considers how much contacts and glasses cost and he is quick to offer affordable solutions. For example, he prescribed a contact brand this time that included a huge rebate, making my grand total for contacts $10! Nice. The downside is that I have spent approximately 5 minutes with the doctor for each of my visits. I waited about 10 minutes in the lobby, then did all the tests with the assistant. However, the assistant also did pretty much all of the check-up (you know..."One or two? Two or three?"). Then the doctor came in to verify the assistant's findings and write the prescription. I was super surprised about this during my first appointment, but thought maybe it was a fluke. But nope, it was the same routine this time. I also had to wait about 25 minutes for the doctor to come check on me. Eventually I had to get up and start walking around because their exam chairs are so uncomfortable (see picture). Both visits, I have been dilated too. Which is awful. Is this standard practice now at all eye doctors? My eyesight is not too bad, so I can't imagine it is because my eyes need extra checking. Thank goodness for the lovely lady who orders contacts. She saw how blinded I was by the sunshine and offered me those sexy wrap around sunglasses. :) I do want to clarify that the assistant probably does a good job! He is pretty fast (maybe a bit too fast? It was hard to keep up with his "one or two" sometimes) and clearly knows what he is doing. It just seems very odd to have the majority of the appointment conducted by someone other than the doctor? I'm honestly not entirely sure what I'm looking for in an eye doctor. But I think my hunt will continue... read more

Good doctor, but the front desk is a nightmare. Trying to call them to get anything accomplished is a roll of the dice. Some of the front desk workers are great, some are rude. Some are helpful (usually the nice ones) and others don't know what they're doing. Not worth the gamble. I tried to get my prescription by calling them, and they kept sending me empty emails, incorrect things, or wouldn't answer the phone entirely. The easiest way to contact them is to drive there in person, but that shouldn't be necessary for EVERY single thing. Frustrating. read more

Both my husband and I had back to back annual eye exams on the same day and we both had a wonderful experience. We were seen separately and came away feeling that Dr. McAdams gave us the individual attention we were hoping for and answered all our concerns. We also were taken care by different technicians ( Calvin Preisler and Dustin Cornell ) and both of us felt that they had the professionalism that their predecessors lacked. We were both seen in a timely fashion and were very happy with the service provided by all staff members. read more

While Dr. McAdams and the staff at the front are super nice, Linette, the gal who orders your contacts and glasses is so rude and has lied to me on several occasions. She also refused to give me my prescription when I called. She charged me twice as much for contacts as they quoted me on the phone and I swear every time I see her she gives me more and more attitude. Until they hire someone else for her position, I would steer clear of this clinic. I cant wait to go to another optometrist because of her. read more
