Took my family of 4 for what we thought were standard eye exams and ended up with hundreds of dollars in surprise "Wellness" services. The intake form made it sound like these were just part of our regular covered visit, but they weren't. Throughout our appointments, there was constant upselling of additional products and services, which made for an uncomfortable experience. Nobody mentioned the extra costs until AFTER all four appointments were completed (3+ hours later). When I questioned the bill, they refused to reduce it or work with us. I asked to review charges with my insurance before paying, but they submitted the bill to insurance that same day anyway. ADVICE: Before your exam, explicitly ask about ALL potential non-covered charges. Cost info is buried deep in their paperwork. Find a more transparent practice that respects informed consent and clearly discloses all fees upfront. read more

So disappointed. I called to cancel one of three glasses just an hour Or two after the order. Left a very clear and firm message. Three days later I get a call saying no we can't. We got your message yesterday ignored it and now you are screwed. I am just fuming here. I will add more here when my full experience plays out, but I can only say buyer beware. Buyer beware!!! Dr. Burke misdiagnosed my vision at my initial exa. Then sold me contacts and blue light glasses with the incorrect prescription. I paid in full using insurance and out of pocket for both. Due to the misdiagnosis the contacts did not correct my vision. After several follow-up appointments to address the situation the correct contacts were ordered leaving a credit on my account. He has refused to refund my credit stating it's "office policy" Completely unacceptable and I will not be returning. read more

The staff-Angela and Kim were also great, one giving multiple eye tests and the other assisting in my choice of frames and what best suits my needs. Fantastic experience! Just moved to the area and needed a yearly vision exam. The entire experience from making an appointment, checking in as a first time patient with Kim and the exam with Dr. Mark was seamless and stress free. I was amazed by the high-tech and clean exam rooms. Dr. Mark walked me through everything and explained everything to optimize my understanding. Dana and Dr. Mark helped me to find the perfect pair of glasses and contacts (super patient as I am very indecisive). I never thought going to the eye doctor would be an exciting event! If I could do zero stars I would. I went to see this doctor and was told lots of false comments about my sight, that I am losing my sight BUT to try contacts. I was given a $99 eye exam for contacts, plus the regular exams then had glasses made. 2 pairs of eye glasses later (February to April) has two pairs made with wrong RX. First was computer only glasses. Why the heck would I want those when I clearly went there saying my glasses did t allow me good Clear vision to drive or read. Then pair 2? I did NOT ask for transition lenses but got them. Ugh. Then $800 spent for this fiasco and he's used my eye benefits. As of today 7/8/20 the doctor is not responding to my request to fix a loose lens that HE told me was loose and that he would fix after Covid lockdown. Lies and he's out to make big money. Stick with LensCrafters or someone with a more reputable practice. Maybe posts of negativity will prompt a response. read more

I will admit that my family and I have not been as diligent as we should when it comes to annual eye exams, we are good with the dental and physicals schedule, but slacked on the eye exams. Finally, due to back to school requirements, we needed to go to the eye doctor. We found Dr. Burke at 4sight Icare on Rt. 59 and 119th in the strip mall on the Southwest corner of the intersection. As mentioned, it had been a while since our last eye exam, but sitting with Dr. Burke for 1 hour, I was very impressed and learned a tremendous amount about vision and the human eye with his straight forward, no nonsense, non-sales approach to eye care. You can tell when someone loves what they do and he would probably do this for a hobby if he could. Can't say enough. I have given the highest score and that is rare, but check it out for yourself, I believe you will have an outstanding experience. Thanks Doc. read more

I would recommend avoiding this place. My senior mother went to this office and was told that with the prescription he was giving her that she would have 20/20 vision. Once she received her glasses she informed the doctor that she could not see with them. They tried to fix them. When she received the "corrected" glasses, she told them that she could not see well with them. She was pressured to take them home to try them and told she could only send them back once and that she would have to pay if she wanted to have them try again. I knew there was something wrong so I took her to a different doctor and my suspicions were confirmed, she needed a different prescription. In addition, my mother was informed that she has a cataracts. How could a professional miss that? When I asked the doctor to refund my mother's money (nearly $900 - that should have been a sign of what to expect right there ... who charges seniors that much!), he refused to refund the money. The doctor is very genial and gregarious. (Then again, so are most used car salesmen.) I do not fault him for his personality, but I do caution you regarding his business practices. Please read the negative comment in another review. For now there are just two negative comments, but after experiencing this situation, I have no doubt the negative comments will begin to accumulate. Save yourself the chance of trouble and go somewhere else there are plenty of good choices. read more

If I could give no star, I would. Went for an eye exam, ended up paying nearly $80 for the exam. My copay was only supposed to be $10, which is what I paid when had and exam last time at a different facility. When asked why am I being charged so much, they shared they ran all these other tests which is not covered by the insurance. They ran all these tests without getting my permission. Then they started pushing very hard to order glasses from their, three pairs. They didn't even want to give me a prescription, then they finally did. On the prescription, it doesn't have much details, when I asked where the additional details were, this is so that I can order glasses somewhere else using the prescription, he says it will cost me another $40 because it is an investment to procure the equipment. This facility is there to rip you off. In the midst of this pandemic, I am all about helping local businesses - but facilities like this is just wrong. Stay away, unless you want to get ripped off. read more

I was sold a pair of eyeglasses and had the expensive version of an exam plus supplements. I easily spent over $1000 here. I was talked into trying progressive lenses which I could not adjust to. He honored the "guarantee" and they changed the lenses. I got regular long distance lenses. I left the store and was across the street from a restaurant. I noticed that from here, the sign for the restaurant was blurry. That was his fault. I went back to the shop and was told he would be happy to replace the lenses for an additional $90. He had failed to tell me that his work is guaranteed only one time. He did not stand by his products. I did not go back. I received a text the next year as an exam reminder. I told him why I would not be coming back. After a brief text exchange, he told me that perhaps I needed a doctor who treats someone as a customer, not a patient. Funny. I thought I was both. I work in Healthcare and we certainly do. I still have the text to prove all this. See below Would not go back here for a free pair of glasses at this point. Beware all! We went to this place as it was part of our eye plan. Talk about a disappointment and an eye opening experience. We were talked into 3 pairs of glasses by the owner and it ended up costing us, with insurance coverage, over $1300. Only after we ordered did I end up finding out my eyes barely needed correction. We then called back to the office after leaving and left a message asking to cancel my 2nd pair of glasses. We were not asking to cancel both pair just one since I felt I wouldn't wear them since I didn't really need them in the first place. Since they aren't open after 3 on Saturdays and don't open until noon on the following Tuesday they did not contact us in a timely manner. Not only that we were told they wouldn't refund our money for the glasses as it was part of their contract but would "work" with us to lower the cost. This practice is nothing but a scam to get people to buy glasses they don't need. I have a friend this happened to as well. Never will I return to this guy and I don't recommend him to ANYONE. If you go be careful because you'll be exploited as he makes money on naïve consumers. What a horrible experience! read more

Very disappointed since the reviews for here are so good but maybe its just not the place to take young kids? I was told at my son's kindergarten exam that he needed glasses and was colorblind. Watching the evaluation as a medical professional myself I just felt that my son was not focusing on the questions and following the directions (he is 5) which was very frustrating but obvious to me it was a behavioral issue and not a vision issue. I took my son for a second opinion and talked more with him about what was expected prior to the test. They also took the time to re-explain the test that he didn't seem to grasp. It was determined that he is not colorblind and he does not need glasses. Im glad I was able to have my son re-examined so that he isn't damaging his perfectly normal eyesight by wearing glasses unnecessarily. read more

This doctor is a THIEF AND CROOK and should not be trusted. I came in January and had my eyes evaluated. He recommended multi focal glasses and contacts despite me only requesting reading glasses. He also suggested me buying multiple pairs. Eventually I was talked into a 417 dollar pair of glasses which the doctor said he could exchange no problem if they didn't work. They were awful. I couldn't see to drive or use the computer and were so tinted they distorted everything. I went back several times. The doctor made me feel like it was my fault--- 3 percent of the population can't wear multi focal lenses--- keep trying them. I did with the same result and even returned the extra trial contact lenses because they did not work either. I did get him to make the glasses reading glasses. They are perfect. Long story short-- I have a 417 dollar pair of reading glasses because the doctor cannot refund the difference in cost. I am contacting my insurance tomorrow-- they should not be working with dr Burke. read more
