I know skincare and hair/makeup artists seem expensive, and you may go back and forth on whether it's worth the price or not... but you get what you pay for and I'll tell you that it's worth it! Your confidence and how you feel the day of will show through in photos. I knew I wanted to feel confident and beautiful and I wanted someone that I could trust to help with that. Michele was on our vendor list and when I saw that she specialized in both hair and makeup AND esthetics, I immediately picked up the phone. Her and I hit it off right away and I instantly felt comfortable with her - like a long-lost friend I hadn't seen in ages and was just catching up with. :) My mom and I both started going to her for facials leading up the wedding and I noticed almost immediate changes in my skin (cheek redness was lightening, pore size looked smaller, skin texture felt smoother, etc). Michele did my hair and makeup for my bridal shower as a "trial" and while I looked and felt gorgeous, there were a few things I wanted to tweak for the wedding. Michele was so gracious when I was telling her about the changes I wanted to make. I never feel like myself in fake eyelashes and shared that with her. Having done many weddings before mine, she did tell me that I'd probably want to have some fake lashes just so they'd show up in my professional photos. We found a happy medium and I'm so happy that I trusted her with that! Michele is incredibly talented and will make you feel so comfortable and BEAUTIFUL on your big day! One of my biggest fears when I was first searching for a makeup artist was that I wasn't going to recognize myself in pictures or look like me. Michele made sure that didn't happen! When my brother first saw me, he cried and told me that he was so happy that I still looked like myself, which was so sweet! She said that there simply wouldn't be enough time, as the artists & stylists were also assisting her mother, aunts, grandmothers, etc. Stephanie however gave me a great piece of advice "You will only be a MOG (Mother of the Groom) once, so you won't regret it if you hire someone to look your best!" She responded immediately and suggested that I set up an appointment for a trial session. Unfortunately, I simply did not have the time to do this as I was leaving to attend my nephews wedding in Tuscany, and then hosting relatives from all over the world coming for my son's wedding. We emailed back & forth about the price, date & time of the wedding, location of my hotel etc. I also emailed her photos of myself. We then set up a date & time for us to chat on the phone. She asked what hairstyle I wanted, and I said, " I want an up do chignon that is classy, but I have baby fine hair." Victoria told me to go on Amazon and purchase "ponytail hair extensions". I was so pleased because the hair extensions were the same color as my hair! The day of the event, I was nervous in my hotel room. But Victoria was on time and quickly put me at ease.
