Was looking for new glasses. No vision insurance. Came across their deal for 2 pair of progressive lenses and frames for $199, which was much more reasonable than any of the chain optical places in West Bend. I figured that was the base price and just like anything else, you pay for the extras. They were very helpful finding frames (I have a fat head) and I had a nice exchange while I was there. Glasses were ready in less than a week. Went in for a fitting today and was very impressed with how much time he took to make sure they were right. It is true what people are saying. The person answering the phones is very short and not informative even at the most basic level of expectation. This particular person doesn't care and if they're the gatekeeper to the doctors it's not fair to judge the rest of the staff. However, I had a great experience with the doctors while I was there and so did my husband. read more

I was blacklisted. The last time I was there I ordered 2 pairs of glasses in a buy 2 pair deal. One pair was fine (the sunglaases that were cheaper) but the regular glasses that by the way I loved, I could not see through them, everything was blurry. There was very obviously something wrong if I could see better with one pair, and saw worse than with no glasses through the other. I guess that was my fault. After THREE trips back to figure out why my vision was worse with them on and not being able to see the lady in front of me who was trying to adjust them, I had to return them (package deal). I am guessing there was a lack of communication, documentation, and reporting to the person who could have actually diagnosed the problem on each trip. Anyway, I enquired why and the woman said the owner stated that I didn't give them a chance to fix them so I'd be happier going elsewhere. I drove an hour r.t. THREE times. If that's not giving them a chance, then I suppose I'm at fault. Luckily my money spends elsewhere, you obviously don't need it. My husband refused to go back there for other reasons. My husband Steve and i went there on Monday to pick out new frames since he just had an exam a week ago and the staff was AMAZING! So very helpful. Found the frames, picked out the options he wanted and were very impressed with their selections. We appreciated how they knew how much our insurance would cover and what they wouldn't. Talk about make sure you read the fine print and make sure you are ready to pay more than that special price....add ons for EVERYTHING! They told me they were be ready in a week, 16 days later I got a phone call that they were ready. No I am sorry, no NOTHING. Then picked them up they looked good, liked the styles I picked and took them home. In less than 4 hours one pair fell on the floor and big scratches in the lenses...took them back with in 24 hours and they wouldn't do anything but they would 'allow' me to pay for a better warranty for them - JUST GIVE THEM MORE MONEY is all they wanted. Or the other option was to get a full refund for both pair. I opted for that as I will NEVER go there again and I will also make sure others don't go there. AWFUL EXPREIENCE!!!!!! read more

I have been a customer at eye care optical for many, many years. I called the other day because my eye has been hurting and i have been getting double vision. The person who answered the phone said the next available appointment was in the middle of august. (silence) iI said my sight is getting worse in one eye. (silence) I said i really can't wait until then. (silence) I said i guess i'll have to find someone who can help me. (silence). A trained bird could have said more than she did. I have been a customer of Eye Care Optical for over 20 years. I spend quite a bit on glasses since I have several different styles of Oakley prescription sunglasses, prescription safety glasses (WileyX), and occasional contacts. I believe the company was sold to new owners. I went in to get an eye exam and a few new pairs of sunglasses this summer. The man behind the counter was so rude, I left and never went through with my appointment and told them I would "re-schedule". Oddly enough, my wife went in to get an eye exam for one of my daughters and she came back and said this same large man was rude to her as well, even know I never shared my experience with her. Our whole family has now switched to a different optical company in West Bend, and I doubt we will ever step foot into Eye Care Optical again due to our shared bad experience. It is too bad because I really liked their selection, but with as much as we spend on glasses, we do not need to deal with that. I have since heard a similar story from a friend of ours, so I doubt this company will continue to be around much longer, unless they get rid of this guy or try to change the way he treats their customers. Luckily there are 6 or 7 options in the City of West Bend, so it was not a big deal to us and we love our new optical place. read more

Eyecare Optical has the best selection of frames! We always find something we like and they were done so fast! My kids saw the eye doctor and had retinal photos done and I was very pleased with Dr. Kellye Zaporski and how thorough she was. STAY AWAY. For your health and sanity. Optometrist is changing here all the time. Been going here for years and keeps getting worse. Had exam last night, woke up with horrible headache and blurred vision. Called with concerns and the owner-NOT DOCTOR- gets on the phone and tells me "At your age you should expect blurry vision!!" He's as arrogant and useless as that Rob they hired. On my way to reputable place hoping no serious physical concerns with my vision. read more
