I had the pleasure of an eye exam today from Eye Care Inc., my daughter and I have resided in Shreveport, La. for a year or so now. We moved here because my daughter was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. I have discovered since being here that Louisiana is not a Medicare friendly state. Being a senior and living on a fixed income, unfortunately my possibilities for medical care including eye care are very limited because of that fact. I discovered Eye Care, Inc by chance! I called and asked if my insurance was excepted at their establishment and it was. At last, I've found someone that is willing to accept my insurance. I did notice that the reviews listed online were minimal. I didn't think twice about it because I have never been a follower. So it was neither here nor there, I will be having an exam and that is what I focused on. I will be my own judge of course! Well, I can not express to y'all just how please I am that I did choose Eye Care, Inc. from the moment I walked in my visit was pleasant. I was greeted by friendly staff at the front desk, the young lady that called me back was kind, thorough and friendly. She explained everything to me as she was doing it, once she completed her duties, she explained to me that the doctor would be in directly and she was! My exam was wonderful too. I did happen to purchase my glasses elsewhere, however there is a vast array of eyewear to choose from. Shimeka was very helpful and pleasant to me and my daughter! Not being from the Shreveport area , I went to Eye Care ( recommended from my insurance company ) to get my annual exam . From the moment I walked in for my appointment , the complete staff was very friendly and helpful . Dr.Pickering was very informative during my exam , comparing my current results to my previous prescription . Ms. Jessica DeWolf , was very patient , friendly and professional when we spent time choosing the proper glasses for my facial structure. I cant thank the complete staff enough for the friendly and professional atmosphere. I would truly highly recommend everyone to go and visit if you are in need of a exam . I started going here because Target Optical lost their optometrist. It is just okay. Hours of operation are not friendly with 8-5 working individuals or people with children. They are only open 1 Saturday out of the month for a few hours. Not a huge selection of glasses to choose from. I had to go back several times trying to find the right contacts and after finding them found out they were $150 a box. I wish I was given a heads up that they were going to be that expensive. The staff is nice. The checkout lady with the raspy voice could be a liitle more friendly seems to want to rush you off and get you out the way. As soon as Target gets another optometrist I will be going back. read more

Great place to get your eye exam and glasses. I just turned 45, and have never had to wear glasses at all, until this year that is. I made an appointment with Eye care and was seen just a couple days later. No long waiting, I was checked in and taken back for my exam in about 10 minutes. This place has the newest and best technology I have seen in all of the places I've done my yearly exams with. Friendly staff, clean environment, I'd definitely recommend eye care if you are needing glasses or an eye exam. My children's eye doctor recommended Eye Care for my their glasses and I have been very impressed. I have had to have 4 prescriptions filled and have had amazing service every time. I am sorry I can't recall the gentleman's name that helped me the first three times, including helping me with questions about my insurance coverage. This past time I was helped by a lady named Jamica who not only helped me with my younger daughter's new prescription but also fixed issues with her current glasses. i have been very happy with Eye Care and will continue getting my prescriptions filled here for both my daughters. read more

I needed new glasses and took a chance on trying a new optometrist and eye care provider. I am so glad that I did! The store was conveniently located on Line Avenue.The staff was friendly and professional. The optometrist was fantastic! I received a very thorough eye exam! I was so pleased. I tried on several pairs of frames. They have a good selection of styles and brands. It took a little time to get my glasses back because I don't think they make the lenses in house. Dr. Boyd saved my life. Suddenly I started having horrible headaches and double vision and my regular practice and ER had no answers. She took the time to listen and ran a few tests and told me that I needed an MRI and that it was an emergent issue. I had the MRI a couple of days later and a few blood clots were found and I was diagnosed with a condition that could have caused me to lose my eyesight or be fatal. I have been coming to Eye Care for years. They have always been extremely nice and very helpful. Particularly when it is time to pick up your new glasses. As such was the occasion today. I was helped by Jessica who went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied with my new glasses. Especially since they are a new prescription and a different type of bifocals from what I have had in the past. Pleasant staff, was greeted upon entering, I arrived early and was seen quickly. Very helpful staff,and Dr. Tiffany Griffin, was amazing. Only thing I didn't like, is that I had to wait two weeks for an appointment. Also my glasses aren't suppose to be in for another two weeks. I have been taking my granddaughter here for over 10 years now. And we love them! She also suffers from a traumatic brain injury that also resulted to a facial paralysis.
