These reviews are legit. The place is terrible. Eye glasses frames are made in China. Super cheap. They don't come in a case. They make you pay extra for a crummy case so your new, overpriced cheap glasses don't get scratched. When I was picking out my glasses I felt like I wAs buying a used car from a slimy salesman. Avoid this place if you can. Also, service is sup slow. They got my I insurance money this year plus gouged me for as many dollars as they can. I feel it necessary that I make you aware of the poor service and disrespect that our family received at VISION ONE while purchasing eyewear for our son. We rarely complain, however, because the staff was so rude during our initial visit as well as when we returned to pick up his glasses, I have no choice but to express our humiliating experience to hopefully prevent others from having to endure the same. During our initial visit, after our son made his eyeglass selection, the assistant told us the amount, took the credit card, gave me the receipt and told me the glasses would be ready in a week. I then inquired about the measurements that are required to obtain a proper fit. Something that she clearly was not going to do. On our return visit, I informed the receptionist that we were there to pick up our son's glasses. I provided his name and the receptionist got up and handed our son his glasses while we stood at the reception desk. He was not asked to have a seat to try them on nor offered an opportunity to look in a mirror at the fit. When we inquired about a case, we were informed the case would cost $5.00. Needless to say, we left without a case. We should've asked for a refund and left the glasses there as well. Basically, they got our son's $300 but he received 3 cent service. We will NEVER do business with them again and felt it necessary that I make others aware of this humiliating experience so that they will refrain from pursuing eye services from them. This place should get a negative star! We;my family) decided to try this place because our regular optometrist moved to Monroe. My daughter was the first to visit and immediately felt uncomfortable because they followed her around as if she wanted to steal frames. I wasn't there but of course I believed her, my husband went the same day and he said the same thing. We decided we needed the exam and we would take the prescription to Target to get the actual glasses. Well Vision one filed a claim for glasses with my insurance on my daughter that she never agreed to getting. I called Vision One as we found this information from Target and relayed this message to them that there needed to be a claim reversal per the insurance company. This was Nov 16th! As of today after calling to get a resolution two employees decided to hang up the phone. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said maybe their phone lines are messing up I'll go there. I go there with the insurance company on the phone to explain what they need to do to reverse the claim the gentle tells me he is going to call the police on me if I don't leave. During my eye exam I talked with Holly an employee and asked if they had a problem with theft because of how my daughter felt. Holly did state to me they have been trained to watch the black people and they get in trouble if they don't. Per Holly this has been the practice the entire time she has worked here from the previous optometrist to this one Dr Christine Davis!! On today while waiting for the police the Shreveport police Officer McClure stated this is what they do all the time. Vision One has to do something to remove their name from this negativity. I had an appointment. I was treated nicely by receptionist. Asked if I could look at glasses will I waited. I was told by white gentleman I could not be in area with glasses touching things. I told him I didn't not touch anything and that's why my arms or folded on your camera. He told me I was done and to leave. Another white lady approached me and said we are under staffed and I said ma'am I'm practicing social distance. I stated if you are going to treat me like this should I cancel my appointment. At this point the male tells receptionist to call the police on me! He gets in my face and tells me to leave. He also states he canceled my appointment. This place will provide you with horrible customer service. They are RUDE!! Upon arrival I witnessed a staff member being rude to a customer who was asking for some type of documentation that she was there for her appointment. The guy (I'm told is the office manager) was rude and walked away from the customer after denying her request. He told her she could write her own statement and if it was what they had in their records they would sign it. He stated they see way too many patients a day to write notes for all of them. My daughter and I agreed that it was rude, but we stayed for our appointment. Once in the back, Dr C Davis saw me and my daughter and used the same instruments without sanitizing them. After a few minutes, my face started to itch around my eye and I asked the office manager if they sanitize the equipment between patients? His answer was yes and I said ok well that didn't happen with my daughter and I and now my face is itching. He stated that they see family members all the time and use the same equipment without sterilizing between family members and it's not an issue. I told him it was an issue for me. He said to me, "Well you don't have to come back." When I asked another staffer his name to report the incident to Tri West (bc that's who sent me) to let them know that's how they treat veterans, he refused to give me his name. I reported them as being unsanitary to both Tri West and United Healthcare. I would advise ANYONE to NOT patronize this optometrist's office. They seem to pride themselves on being rude and nothing is really done about it. I would've given them ZERO stars but you have to give at least one in order for the reviews to be seen. read more

I had been going to Vision One / Dr. Bakowski for, literally, decades (started seeing him when he was located in South Park Mall). Once he decided to retire & was bought out, I went here my 1st time under new management for my annual eye exam. They told me I owed for my exam that day which should have been at no charge with my vision insurance. The next day, I called my insurance company & was even told by them that I shouldn't have been charged. Vision One / Dr. Davis still claimed I owed for the exam & would not even contact my insurance company to verify the discrepancy after I had requested them do so. They don't even deserve one star. read more

I was looking into getting new glasses and had asked a friend of mine if he knew any good places? He said he knew a place but it wasn't good. He mentioned that he came to vison one optical and was treated disrespectful by the employee and the owner herself. After explaining that they had given him the wrong prescription and he needed it fixed they denied it was wrong and refused to fix them. He had to contact his eye doctor and have him speak to them for them to fix it. All in all it more than it should of been they got the prescription wrong on the glasses and denied it to the end. Very unprofessional will def not return to this place. Always double check and make sure before you get anything done here. read more

I was treated very poorly at this establishment by Sandy, the doctors wife. She speaks to customers in a very condescending tone and is very rude and belittling. I made a point to tell her upon my departure that, "There is a right way to speak to people and you just don't know how." I was prepared to pay out of pocket for the frames I had my eye on and she was adamant on reminding me that my insurance (which they failed to update) only covered what was in the other room. Slightly agitated I said, "Yes so I would pay extra for these. Understood." She very rudely remarked they would be over 90 dollars. I replaced them to look at another pair and she remarked to a colleague asking if they were missing some brand name frames. Her coworkers said no and I had, had enough ill treatment at that point and decided to leave after letting her know she should change her demeanor if she is supposed to be a professional in the vision health industry. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!!! My family and I attended vision one about a week ago for appointments and the visit was absolutely horrible. The staff is very ill mannered. We were very much racially discriminated against and treated very poorly. Firstly when we entered we were given very rude looks and were not greeted in any way. Then us parents( my sister and i) were both told to put our phones away by one of the white male workers in a very rude tone even when we were not causing any disturbance. When our children were called to be examined we were not allowed to go in with them and were told to move further away from the room that our children were in. They continued to question our children which is extremely unacceptable because we are the adults and they should be asking us such questions. When my daughter was able to go pic out a new pair of glasses we were both observed heavily by a white male and he criticized every pair she tried and said they did not look good on her. When my sister took her daughter to do the same he did the same and even went to pick up every pair she tried on and put them back even when she was not finished looking at them. To make matters worse my daughter and I asked to use the restroom when we were given only ONEE paper towel for two people. I wouldnt recommend that you go to this place. The entire staff which is predominantly of(Caucasian background) are extremely disrespectful. DONNNNNTTTTT GOOO HEREEE!! because they treat POC horribly. In all the years I have taken my children here I won't ever do so again or will be attending again myself. I went here a few years ago and sadly I'm not the only one who thinks the doctor's wife is rude. I was bullied and tried to be pushed into upgrading my lenses and frame. When I left a bad review on another website the doctor's wife had the nerve to call me on my personal cell phone and demand to know why I left a bad review. She then threatened me by telling me she knew where I worked. She is a real piece of work and is making enemies all in this town with her sorry attitude.
