My go-to source for anointing oils-theirs are authentic, handcrafted, a good value and in wide variety. If you aren't nearby, their mail order has a quick, reliable turn around. I order mine often and am always impressed by how quickly I receive them. I tend my own herbs, but I've noticed their selection is extensive with many that are hard to come by. I went in yesterday looking for a dream catcher. She happened to have two lovely handmade items that would work for my purposes. My 5 year old son has been having night terrors every night for two weeks. I told the girl this, and she suggested a few things to help. I purchased both dream catchers (one for my house, and one for dads) and dragons blood spray for my purposes. She told us to go to Michaels and get some charms he likes to hang from it to make it even more specific to him and his need. We did just that, and I had the idea to let him string some beads while we sang some songs too. I made up a little rhyme about bad dreams and sprayed the dream catcher, my son and his bed with the spray. Last night was the first night that he wasn't afraid to go to sleep, and the first night in 2 weeks that he slept through the night. I cannot express my gratitude enough for your direction! Very laid back and organic supplies shop. Mother-daughter owned. Fairly friendly. Seem to have a good amount of stock. Not crazy prices like some of these places. Felt more genuine as some stores come off as either too gothy, or boho hipster trendy. This had a nice mix. Our only gripe was that they supposedly do classes teaching tarot amongst other subjects. I have been coming occasionally to this shop since the 1980's and it was always a precious memorable experience. The vibe in the shop was always aligned harmoniously. My last visit was in 2017 when I bought an altar cloth with birthday money from my mom. I came today and didn't realize until I tried the door that they are closed. This place is pure *in Mermaid Man voice from Sponge Bob Square Pants* EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVIIIIILLLLL!!!! They run a coven out in the back which when you enter you can hear ominous chanting, as soon as I opened the door and said hello, a bony hand beckoned me from a closed curtain to come back there. A person hit me over the head with a frying pan and dragged me in, they then put me on a rotating spit with an apple in my mouth over a fire while a little person kept basting me with newts blood and ale and everyone walked around in a circle chanting " Om name padme hai" "Om shan sabyo" ... it was HORRRRRRIBLE!!! OH OH I WAS lucky to get out of there in one piece! .... Man how I WISH that's how it went :( Instead I was greeted by Kelly's daughter Emma who helped me out with what I needed. She was quite knowledgeable and I am looking forward to coming back to meet the mysterious, mythical and legendary Kelly as well. Only disappointing thing I guess I can say is I read the reviews of how people kept saying it was dark, dusty, dirty and forbidding which means its one of those OLD school Pagan stores that you hear stories about from ignorant people, that makes you want to go more to it :D Nah its pretty new now, but doesn't mean the that wonderful energy is not there still :). read more

Love this Beautiful store. Kelly and her amazing daughter are truly a breath of fresh , positive energy . I was introduced by my dear lovely best friend and Priestess Laura Black, her soul moved on. It was many years ago, she took me here before the tragic fire. The day Laura and I went, was after taking in an amazing Theater show at the Long Beach Playhouse. Been to this shop a few of times over a period of 6 months. Pros: -Really good oils. -Friendly cats hanging around. -Good prices on herbs. Cons: -Super dirty -Some herbs are always out. Seems like nothing is ever replenished once it's sold out. When you ask if they'll get more in, they say they don't know/probably not. They can't/won't order it for you either if you make a request. -Mislabeled items. Twice now I've bought some items from the wooden slot areas next to the stones and both times the item they sold me was not the real item. Before you buy them, suggest doing a google image search to make sure the item in their bins matches. read more

My heart goes out to this little quirky shop because I love it, I really, really do love it. It's mysticism draws you in. You're almost instantly greeted by black cats. There are fun and intriguing products everywhere you turn, in each facet of my vision. The products are amazing! What makes my heart sink a little, is whenever I go in I see advertisements for classes offered(in which I'm dying to attend!). The names on the list keep getting longer and it seems as if the classes never take place. What makes my heart sink even more is that so many incense products and blended oils are advertised on their website, but aren't ever available in the store or website for purchase. Every time I visit I ask when they will be replenished, but it seems like they're permanently out of stock. When I ask to email the owner I'm told that I won't get a response. Please, please either find a way to replenish your products or take them down from your website because the teasing me makes me sad. read more

I think the one reviewer was exactly right when she said (basically) that you will know if you're meant to be there the second you step in the door. This store reminds me of my late grandmother's house in that every nook and cranny has something to look at. There was a large selection of dried herbs, oils, crystals and for anyone into divination, there were several Tarot decks to choose from. I was immediately greeted by a slender black cat galloping toward me. S/he immediately hugged my thigh with a bright eyes and a little meow. It was a wonderful hello! Eye of the Cat is not a novelty store. You won't be approached and romanced into purchasing something. You will be greeted by whomever is behind the register and left to gather your own supplies. Questions will be answered, but really, this is like a small depot to get your supplies. When it was time to check out, the lady behind the register was nice to me and I had a really nice experience. I will definitely check this store out again. Oh, and before I forget, any complaints about the parking should be taken up with the City. It's not the store's fault. read more

This place is like a dusty New Orleans shop that's been magically transported to a California beach town. Yes it's dusty, yes it smells of incense, yes there are scruffy cats pawing at you, but what do you expect? This is an occult/metaphysical shop, not Saks Fifth Avenue. I've been here 3 or 4 times and have always been treated so well by the staff. They've been welcoming and eager to answer questions. Some reviews say that the workers are rude and standoff-ish, but consider what they do. They probably have folks come in every other day mocking them or the shop because they don't take it seriously. Plus I've been told they get weird vibes from people coming in asking about poisons, hexes, and the like. Anyways, the front of the shop is full of rocks, gems, crystals, sage, various herbs, pocket taro, charms and pendants, etc. The middle room is like a mini library with one wall devoted to oils and incense. The very back room houses the candles. It's much bigger than it appears when you first walk in. I recommend this place because it opens your mind to things that are new, interesting, adventurous, and it will probably be the most interesting place you'll see all day. Check it out for a truly unique shopping experience. My only con is you need to find street parking and depending on time of day that can be challenging. read more

I have written a long review for this store before where I sung its praises at the top of my lungs...well, here is another one, albeit much shorter. I love this store's sprays - they work amazingly well. I have had a history of panic attacks way back in the day and once in a great while one still creeps up. I learned some things from being a healer and decided to ward of the next panic attack with Kelly's banishing spray. I sprayed from the bottom of my face, over to the top of my head, back of head, and especially right where the neck and head meet where there is that indentation at the back of the bottom of the head before the neck starts - and boom! Panick attack ceased! It has yet to return (this was many months ago). Her stuff is very energetically aligned with what it purports to do, and really, really works! This time, I purchased her aura cleansing spray, protection spray, success spray, and money spray, to bring in more of the necessary energies for each of those things. I really trust this store's hand made items and I really appreciate Kelly's advice, too - I always learn from her and can bring my practice, protpection, and knowledge to another level after each trip to her store. I love this shop! I have not been to it as of yet since the quarantine and social distancing started though. They have a very wide variety of oils, resins, incense, and herbs. I honestly feel like you could go here for anything you need pertaining to these. Personally, I usually come here for their oils which they do have a whole lot of so be prepared to be here a while if you're indecisive, although they do have a booklet next to them for uses. They offer tarot reading sessions and they have always been a wonderful experience for me. I am unsure if they still offer classes, but I know they have in the past. One great thing about this shop is they are diverse religiously here, whether you identify as Christian, Pagan, Agnostic or other. They even sell books from witchcraft teachings to the Bible. They have a few cats roaming around so if you have very sensitive allergies you may need to steer clear of them, but my partner has allergies to cats and was fine with them. I also believe they are rescues. I myself love animals and usually pet them so I was acquainted with a few of them. One passed away at one point and I was sad to find out. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well if you're unsure or have any questions on what you may be looking for or need. I wouldn't be afraid to ask for help or advice. I haven't been here in about a year, but I am guessing it is still the same as it was. There's a VERY pagan/Wiccan feel to it (I almost want to say it borders on occultist...), you can tell the store is rather old (but I like it!), and there are cute black cats to add to the mix (one of whom I remember being so friendly and wanting me to pick up). The store is fairly dark inside and is almost a little intimidating for those unfamiliar with the occult, but the employees are very nice and helpful. I was personally fascinated with everything. One thing I remember distinctly about this store was the huge selection of herbs and roots. There are also tons of essential oils and I *believe* I remember seeing some used Tarot cards. I'm not 100 percent positive on that, so don't take my word for it. The store offers a variety of different classes such as beginning Wicca, Psychic Development, and Tarot, and from what I remember the rates were fairly reasonable. I really wish this store was closer to where I live now; I haven't seen any store like it to date. This is actually the only store I know of that has a wide selection of custom-made mojo bags (I know how to make them myself, but it's always fun to have someone else make it for you :D) and dolls. And lastly...they do have tarot readings, but no appointments (I think time slots are limited). You have to go there the day of, but the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely try one out with either psychic (one of whom is the owner and the other her daughter)...they're pretty good from what I've been told. read more

It had been several years since I last visited the Eye of the Cat. They had one of the best selections of powdered incense that I knew of in the L.A area. Since I had a rare day off, I decided to make the trip to Long Beach to pick up some incense from them and check out a few other things. I made a list of incenses and oils from their website before leaving. Imagine my disappointment when I got there that they didn't have a single item on my list. Not one. I'd say that they probably had about a fourth, or less, of what they have listed on their websites. The shelves were nearly empty. They did offer to do a manifesting spell for me - uh, no thanks - I can do spells and manifest on my own - unless you can manifest some of the items that I drove there for in the first place. The girl behind the counter was talking to her friend before I got there, even after I left, and she would not acknowledge anyone in the store.
