We have found ourselves in a situation with 5 yr old that her eye "almost" crossed but now continue to have intense vision therapy in the past several years because the eye muscle struggles to bring her vision to focus - even with glasses on. Sometimes while in prayer for her vision I think back if only Dr. Maddox had prescribed glasses would her eye muscle struggle to get 20/20 vision for her. Please remember (which I learned to late here in ATL with an eye specialist) early intervention is better than later. Always get a second opinion. Make the drive to ATL.

This place is so awful that scheduling an appointment for the morning will have you leaving at night, so it is obvious that appointments don't even matter as much. The fact that you must spend long hours in the waiting area for whatever reason they have going on in the back is absurd. I had to wait so long that I was beginning to think about eating at the nearby restaurant basically in the same parking lot. Additionally, I should mention that the man who saw me appeared to be on lunch break himself because as he observed my eyes his hands smelt like straight onions. Knowing that my eyes would be dilated, I requested to be scheduled in Macon. On the day of my follow up appointment I arrived in a storm to be told my appointment was in Warner Robins. Apparently there is a single person who schedules. After leaving two voicemail messages for her and being placed on hold for long periods of time and randomly transferred I drove to the Macon office. I explained once again that I need the appointment to be in Macon and why. She did give me an appointment but my 3 week follow up has now turned into five weeks. This should not be this difficult. I want to stress that my Doctor and all the techs are pleasant and so is most of the front office staff. A little customer service and attention to detail goes a long way! If there are typos pin my review that's because I CAN'T see clearly and won't be able to see the doctor for another week!

Upon arrival the black lady that was working the front desk told me that they didn't except my Medicaid and that my insurance only covered me to see a gynecologist. If that's the case then why did it pay for my eye doctor appointment? Her and her little friend that worked the front desk with her were both very snobby not only that but I get to my car and my driver's license was missing I had to walk all the way back in there to get my license that she claimed got stuck to her clipboard. Without reservation, she's the best primary care doctor I've ever had, bar none. Every person on her staff has been kind, professional, and caring--every time! Even if I move an hour or two away, Dr. Scarborough will continue to be my doctor. She is a rare individual and doctor: more like a friend who cares about my welfare and as well as my health. She always schedules enough time during visits to actually talk with patients and then listens to them, then follows through to address any health issues that need her attention. We aren't shuffled through her office like a number to quickly move out of the way, but as a person who is there for her help and expertise. If I've had to call after hours for a pressing issue(which I've done a couple of times), either she or her NP Holly always calls me back quickly and takes care of what I need. I'm a grandmother, years older than she, but we're "on the same page," and I've never felt or seen any condescension from her or her staff (which is more common everywhere these days toward older people). I highly recommend her without reservation, and that includes the ladies who check in patients, the nurses, lab staff, and anyone else I've had the pleasure of interacting with there. If you're looking for a primary care doctor, you need look no further than Dr. Cameka Scarborough on Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, Georgia.
