This one in Selma is the only one that takes my insurance. Needed an eye check up for my license. Scheduled for today. I got lucky. They had cancellations and fit me in. 3/22/24 Scheduled appointment has already arrived! Time flying by! Arrived & checked in. 10:20 appointment. They have a computer check in set up. Simple. It told me to wait until I was called back. Nice, low key area. TVs & water bottle fridge. Music playing. Calm. Shortly later, a nice worker greeted & took me back. Did a short series of tests on both eyes & told me to wait to be called back. Another nice waiting room. Music playing. Called back shortly later by another nice worker took me into another room and asked a series of questions. She pressures checked after that. Very nice worker. Simple. Then told to go neck to tit conference room until a room was available. Short wait and another kind worker greeted and put me in a room. Waited to see the doctor. He came shortly later. Dr. BaReally great! Easy to talk to, kind and welcoming. He checked out my eyes with good day wishes and sent up front to check out and get what will work best with my insurance. Told they were printing out a form for me and it will be little bit. Waited in the waiting room. Shortly later a worker brought me an envelope to give to my primary care physician for reference. Great service & Great Eye-Q facility. Highly recommended! read more

How do you guys schedule someone for a procedure and then forget to order the medication for it and then reschedule her for the procedure just to have her show up for a follow up for a procedure she didn't have in the first place!! Very unorganized and it really doesn't seem like you guys care about your patients at all. Unreliable and poorly managed! My poor family member has had soooo many issues with you guys! Dr B is the best! And so are the girls there! Dr. B is diligent concerned professional interested and really tries to get it right! My Keratoconus is advanced and weird and not typical but he really tries! I appreciate him because it's scary! He seems like a good man just trying to do the best he can to help! After my last visit I was not going to come back, but after working with someone who was committed to improving practices; I returned for my annual visit. This complaint has nothing to do with the self service COVID check-in, I love all that is going on to keep patients and employees safe; the receptionist who used to do the check in was so rude when I had questions. Thankfully the young lady checking our temps as part of the COVID response was so helpful. My appointment started nearly 25 minutes late, I had a driver for after having my eyes dilated; it was frustrating to have my last experience repeated with even less patients in the building. When I was taken back, in the first room the employee was saying I would not get my eyes dilated. This was particularly frustrating because my driver had taken the morning off to get me home safely. Getting my eyes dilated was something that was planned, and that is regular because of my family history of macular degeneration. After having an employee double check my file turns out I didn't need to have my eyes dilated. Then when I went into the second room the employee who put the drops in my eyes to dilate them didn't put even numbers of drops in my eyes,is that routine? My experience in the office with the doctor was very positive. Then I was asked to wait in the waiting room until I can pick out frames. While picking out frames there was a little miscommunication about insurance paying for my new frames, but once the doctor clarified to the staff the need for the frames; it ended up being covered. The supervisor was helpful from then on with picking out my frames (I needed help due to having Dilated eyes), definitely going to pick up my frames before my exam from now on LOL Overall it took almost 2 hours to get an eye exam, guess we're doing pretty good it's half the time it took last time LOL I was told that my glasses will be ready in two weeks time and was given a date but never a time to pick them up so when I came to pick them up I was told that I had an appointment and that I would have to wait to pick up my glasses till that appointment on that same day just kind of frustrating that there are so many communication gaps consistently . On the phone I was told that the date to pick up glasses was written on my receipt but there was no such info. The only appointment date that I was given was an appointment card for next year's visit which I will now be canceling. This is NOT the place to go if you value your vision. You have to fight for yourself every visit to get quality care, otherwise the hired office hands will give you substandard and incomplete care every time. read more

I had to take my 90 year old frail mother who is on hospice, in for an eye exam as the film on her glasses were peeling off. They needed a new prescription before even looking at her glasses. This place is a mill. The staff who helped her on the doctors side were kind and so was the OD. That's the only reason I gave them a 3, otherwise it would be a zero for the optical side. Very long wait and staff there prioritizing paperwork and restocking shelves instead of seeing waiting patients. I am so thankful I see a private eye doctor- this place is awful!! read more

The customer service here is outstanding. First off I would like to Thank Angel for helping with placing the fallen lense from my glasses. You're truly an Angel I'm visiting from out of town and one of the lenses fell out of my glasses frame. My husband called to make me an appointment (because I can not see to make a call) I was scheduled a same day appointment...How Awesome is that...right !?! As I entered the building I was greeted by the reception she asked to take my temperature due to covid19, asked a couple of questions, had me sign a consent form. I waited in the lobby for 5 minutes then was called to be assisted by Angel . The lobby and work place is immaculate!!! Everyone is wearing a mask the receptionist cleans as you move around...Lol There is plenty of parking. read more

Since my last appointment a month ago my daughter and husband have been seen with no issues. I was told by the dr that she would be ordering two different contact lenses to see which would work for me but that they take about 4-5 weeks to come in. As I was picking up my daughters glasses today I mentioned I hadn't gotten a call yet about my contacts. They checked on that for me and I learned they had not been ordered at all. So they're very unorganized as far as I've seen and experienced. I will have to switch offices which is unfortunate because this one is closer to me. read more

I felt as though I was at an urgent care clinic, with how long the wait was. My appointment was at 2:20 pm. I didn't leave till 4:50 pm. I arrived 5 minutes early, waited to about 45 minutes to be called to the back, where I was placed in another waiting area for about 20 minutes before being pulled to a room for a few exams. Then I had to wait another 10-15 minutes to see the actual doctor. My time with Dr. Mendoza was very quick, no more than 10 minutes with the actual optometrist. However, he was very kind and thorough. I did like his bedside manor. The rest of my time was spent waiting for the optical department, so I could pick out my glasses, which was another long wait. Leann or Leanna (can't remember which), was very sweet and made that experience pleasant. Overall, the team is GREAT, but I feel as though my time should be respected and, if I have an appointment, there should be no reason for such a long wait time. 2 & a half hours is just too long, considering most of that time was just waiting. read more

2016: Do not use their optical department! One lady was very rude to me because my insurance didn't cover glasses & didn't offer me the option of purchasing them out of pocket. I came back to the department & thought to give it a second chance, and one the same lady knew I had money to pay out of pocket, she was nicer. I'm currently waiting to pick up my glasses that I paid in full for & when I called to set up an appointment they said over the phone I could just walk & be out quick. I have been waiting for 30 minutes. I will not be coming back here anymore! 2019: they must of got rid of that rude lady because I went back & had a much better experience. I also have better insurance, so they treated me nicer. The lady was patient with me & super helpful. So moral of the story is that if you have good insurance, you get treated better. ‍ read more

Absurd wait times. Eye q truly has no regard for your time or schedule. 0 Stars. This is my 2 second time waiting we'll over 45 min after my appointment time simply to pick up my glasses. I have been coming to eye q for all my eye appointments and the wait times keep getting longer and longer. My glasses pick up was originally scheduled for 2 weeks after drop off. They where not ready on time and I was never notified of that till I called to confirm prior to my appointment. Because this has happened before that I show up for my pick up appointment and they're not their. After 3 weeks they finally arrived. Although I had an appointment the wait time was still an hour just to receive my glasses from the optometrist. Needless to say this is my final straw with Eye Q. read more

Even before the pandemic, their wait times were ridiculous. If you make an appointment, you will still have to wait 10-20 minutes beyond your scheduled appointment. I so desperately wanted to love this place. My family optometrist of 16 years recently retired, so it was begrudgingly time to find a new one. My husband has been going here for years and loved it, so I figured why not. Boy was I wrong. It's a minimum of 90 minutes to be called back, and then when you do finally get called back you see the techs eating cookies. The optometrist I saw wasn't listening to me when I was explaining my issues with contacts and gave me a list of drops to try instead of treating the allergy or using non silicone based contacts. I've had appointments where I've waited for nearly an hour only to be told I cannot be seen by the doctor they scheduled me with. I finally gave up on getting contacts (after paying a $90 fee), only to go in and order a pair of glasses. After waiting for 45 minutes on my lunch hour and being yelled at for touching a pair of glasses (and yes, they have a sign, I should have kept my hands in my pocket, I wanted to see the price..) I still had yet to be seen. Now I have to make a new appointment to wait.. and wait.. read more

I'm giving them 4 stars only because of the first person (Peggy ) who dilated my husband's eyes was snappy , not friendly at all. Told him twice to lower his seat. He said how? I explained I have another appt at 11:00. His reply was "sorry". It was just to pick up my glasses, nothing else. Well they finally got to me at 10:50. Tried on my glasses and was out by 10:55 I waited over an hour for a 5 min. Appt. Nothing like wasting my day. Not coming back again. That evening Amanda called me to apologize and she was very nice. Dr.Margie Recalde is nothing but GREAT !!!!! The girls that help you get fitted for your glasses are great too. It is the front desk staff that drops this from 5 to 3 stars.On one occasion myself and 3 others in line stood there waiting to check in and watched for 5 plus minutes as one of there friends (a non employee) came in and passed out Avon catalogs and took orders.Today I was waiting to check out and I was subjected to listening to the girl behind the counter talk about her plans for this weekend.They are a bunch of 20 to 30 somethings that just want to go clubbing and find the next 'baby daddy'. read more

I had shingles a couple weeks ago and my primary care physician was concerned about it infecting my eye. My first appointment was at the Fresno Eye q office and was great. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and great service. My follow up appointment was in Selma. I arrived 15 minutes early. Got a quick exam in a room and was then taken to an additional lobby in the back. Sat there for 45 minutes while a bunch of other people were called before me even though I arrived in the lobby before them. I have now been waiting 10 minutes in an exam room. This place seems understaffed or they've scheduled too many people for this time slot. It is almost 4pm and I arrived at 2:15. Came for an appointment for a check up and that went very smoothly. Afterwards I went to the lobby to pick out my glasses only to discover that all the glasses were locked up. I went to the window to ask for a key or if someone could open, they said someone would be right out. 15 minutes later no one came out. I did not get to pick out my glasses, so I left. A while later I went back and asked to look at glasses. 15 minutes later someone came out and opened each one I wanted to try on. I felt rushed because there were a lot of people waiting to get helped. I finally picked some out and placed my order. When I came back to pick up my glasses my appointment was for 1130 and I told the receptionist at noon that I will have to reschedule. At that time someone said they would be right out to help me. So had to take aunt back for other eye after surgery. Surgery was in Fresno, they don't want you to leave but had some errands I had to run. There was only 1 other person in waiting room so I guess they were not too busy in the back, Hour and a half she was done, they called me to see if I was in the building, I said I was heading that way, they said to come around back, she was ready. They called me 3 times in 20 minutes, I guess they don't like to wait. Had follow up in Selma 2 days later and guess what, 3 hour wait. Talking to people in waiting room 4 of us had the same time appt with the same dr. WAKE UP EYE Q, you might not think peoples time is important but I am done, will never go back again, hope no one in my family has to go there because I will never go back I am tired of them being so 1 sided. They don't like waiting but don't give a rats a** about your time, DONE, Run the other way, do not go there!!!!!!!!!!! Again 1 star because post without at least marking one.
