I was grateful to the owner Pam, who moved relatively quickly to resolve the issue, but my patient privacy was not respected during that time. The facility, pre and during the pandemic, is clean and comfortable. It's in an office building, so it's not a spa with frills. If you're looking to relieve pain via massage therapy, the space is more than enough to do so. While my previous go-to therapist is no longer practicing here, I have had good experiences with several massage therapists. I really like the location of this place, it's centrally located downtown. But I have to agree with another reviewer that I too was taken aback by my therapist being in Jeans, a Hawaiian shirt, and sneakers. I wasn't even going to say anything about it but seeing someone else mention it validated my thoughts about it, lol. It just didn't seem professional to me. I also didn't like the music/speaker situation - he used a portable speaker that just didn't sound very good. Lights were still quite bright, and it wasn't a totally relaxing experience. This was only my second time here after not having been there for years, so I guess I just wasn't used to it. My message therapist also used his elbows a lot, which doesn't seem great to me. So I have mixed feelings writing this review. I went here for a massage before the pandemic and had a great experience. This most recent time was right before Christmas and it was less great. I was a little taken aback that my massage therapist was wearing jeans and a windbreaker (I thought massage therapists are supposed to wear scrubs or something equivalent). The massage itself was good, although I feel like he spent the majority of the time doing more like stretches of my body vs actual massaging of the muscles. He also wanted to talk to me thru a lot of it and reprimanded me a lot throughout (at one point complaining that another person booked a massage after me) which wasn't my favorite thing. I did feel better afterward, so stretching definitely is important. Also when it was over he just left the room without saying anything so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to get dressed or if he was coming back for anything. read more

I've been getting regular myofascial release massages with Edmund for several months to support healing a few chronic injuries that have been causing lots of pain and functional deficits for close to a year. Edmund is a skilled massage therapist, but what I really appreciate is that he approaches bodywork for pain management as an interesting puzzle to solve, and he wants all the information you can provide to help him help you. I share what my physical therapist, doctors, and personal trainer have all been doing, and he uses that info to support his work as part of my care team. Another reviewer complained about the setting and lack of warm towels. If your priority is having a high-end resort spa experience, this may not be for you. But if you are looking for massage for muscle relaxation and/or pain relief with skilled practitioners who are also nice people, I highly recommend Eye Street Massage. read more

Really strange experience. Place is located in a building basement with no natural light. The walls are dirty and the massage was uncomfortable at best and the masseuse kept talking to me during the massage and used coconut oil which had a rancid smell. Having athletic injuries are no fun, but I have found a big source of relief at Eye Street Massage Therapy. I have worked with Toey and Pamela, both are experts who take the time to talk with me and completely understand what symptoms I am experiencing. Toey made recommendations on how to be more effective with my post-workout stretching. Toey also incorporated deep tissue massage to my shoulder, which was very tender due to over use on the golf course. My range of motion has really increased dramatically since her work! Finally, Pamela gave sound recommendations about my body, emphasizing a balanced approach to fitness so that I can stay healthy and have fun! I'm in town on business and they were able to see me on short notice. Very responsive! I saw Sage for a 90 minute massage and felt so much better physically and mentally when I left. The office is clean, pleasant, and calming. They even provided me with a bill that I can use to submit to insurance when I get home. My one tip is that it's on the Lower Level of the building, so when you go in at street level you take the elevator down to LL. read more

I love this place. Finding a massage place with multiple great therapists is a hard find in the DMV, but they've mastered it. The prices are very fair. The service is great. The facility is clean and they follow all COVID protocols. They're accessible which is great for those with mobility issues. I've worked with several therapists, but my favorite w/o a doubt is Angela. She's new to the location but I've worked with her over the last 4 years and she's the GOAT. I have a lot of chronic pain and deal with muscle tightness, knots, spasms, you name it. She is very intuitive to your body and can work problem areas without discomfort. The only limiting factor for the site is parking, but it's right off of a metro line and bus line and if you get there a little early, you can find street parking nearby. read more

As soon as my husband and I arrived to the location, we were greeted by Rob. He was very friendly and super kind! We spoke with him for a while as we headed to the location (it's located inside an office building). I recently had a baby and received the postnatal massage, while my husband received a Swedish massage! Rob was his masseur and Angela was mine. I had the most incredible experience here with Angela. She was so incredibly kind and so thorough with her questions and massage! It felt absolutely amazing and you can tell she cares about her clients. The studio is in a basement and you can sometimes hear the metro rattle by but it's otherwise peaceful and super convenient if you work downtown. The massage team comprises real professionals with an interest in your health. This place is somewhat on the no-frills side but still clean and oh so cosy on their heated beds and soft linens! Aromatherapy options are available for $10-15. Massage prices otherwise range from $60 for 30mins to $220 for 2 hrs. I recommend Aulat "Omni" or Joseph "Sage" for their super strong fingers! The location is convenient, and I appreciate the availability of evening appointments and online scheduling. They take COVID protocols very seriously -- everyone is masked, and clients have to fill out COVID questionnaires before coming in. I've been seeing mixed reviews for this place and wanted to try it out for myself, so I took the opportunity during Spa Week ($50 for a 45-minute massage). Yes, the building is old and dingy. Yes, the carpets have multiple stains. I even found red spiders crawling on the clipboards that hold the new client forms. I've been to more massage parlors in Chinatowns that are more glamorous than this place. Yet I resisted the impulse to turn and run away. The receptionist is extremely patient and handled my inquiries and two scheduling changes. I asked for reflexology and the therapist was great. She used very light pressure but her technique was effective. My main complaint is that they don't have pillows and blankets so my neck was sore afterwards and I was cold during the massage. But seeing how filthy the place was, I would have questioned the cleanliness of the pillow and blanket if they had been offered to me. I will probably come back if I find another great deal, but I won't come back if I have to pay more than $50. read more

EXPERIENCE: I booked a couples massage with Eye Street to celebrate my birthday (and use a spafinder.com gift card). They were running a little behind schedule, so they added time to our massage for free. The whole experience was nice, they took a more clinical approach with Nathan, asking questions and engaging him as she did the sports and deep tissue massage. Each therapist was responsive to feedback and requests.There was a lot of time fussing with the sheet, which sort of made me wish I had worn yoga pants or leggings or something. LOCATION/AMENITIES: I'm docking a star mostly for the atmosphere and amenities. This location is in the basement of an office building (adjacent to the FrozenYo) and directly across from Farragut Square. Do not drive here, there's no point when there are four metro lines within one block. I didn't like the waiting area, it was very doctor's-office-waiting-room with the Brita filter and the mini Dixie cups. Additionally, the phone rang several times during the massage, and since both of the employees were working on clients (us) the phone just rang and rang. To use the restroom, you need to get a key for the shared bathroom outside of Eye Street Massage's suite. Everything is clean and tidy as expected. read more

This place is great! I've seen Robert a couple of times, and he's an excellent massage therapist. He really takes the time to listen to where you're experiencing pain, and he's able to figure out how to alleviate it using the different modalities at his disposal. He's professional, and the bodywork really feels the way it's supposed to. I have moderate scoliosis, and I've seen a lot of bodywork specialists about it with little or no results.
