I can't begin to express in words the gratitude and appreciation I have for Dr. Mendelsohn and his staff. I have been to 5 different eye institutes ranging from optometrists to ophthalmology over the past 3 years with the complaint of cloudy vision following artificial lens implants (including the practice who implanted the lenses) and was always dismissed and misdiagnosed. Today - I felt heard and understood and was reassured that what I was experiencing was valid. They put me through a ton of different exams and reassured me that the implants were ok and I didn't need glasses or contacts and they put collagen plugs in my tear ducts right then and there and my vision is already almost perfect. They also offered me a follow up appointment with other options of this doesn't clear my issue. I am also a physician and understand how important "hearing " a patient is- and I was heard and understood and I am so grateful and happy for this amazing group of physicians and staff. I was sent an email reminder for "my" appointment. The email contained my first name and the time and date of the upcoming appointment. The issue is, I never made an appointment and have no idea who these doctors are and how they got my information. I sent them a message asking them to correct their information. The next thing I know, I receive a survey thanking me for the visit (which obviously didn't occur) and asking me to complete the survey. Again, I sent a message asking them to look in to this issue. I never received any response. They then sent a notification another appointment was set up. I sent another message asking them to contact me as to why this is happening when I'm not their patient. They never responded. I received another reminder today and asked for a response which I'm still waiting for. I'm concerned that they may have billed Medicare under my information without me seeing them, or someone is using my information. I have repeatedly asked them to email me how this has happened as I want the information in written form and the last thing I want to do is give them my phone number to call me back and add that to their documentation. I would be concerned to go to this office due to not only this error, but the lack of communication on their part to correct this error. read more

Had my regular check up this week and as usual, was treated with courteous professional service. My family and I have been going in for many years. I feel very comfortable there and always trust the results there and their opinions. There is never any wait time, I am usually in the door and out with a complete eye check up in less than an hour. PROS: Rarely any waiting time.Sunday hours. Plenty of convenient parking , one minute from your car to the front desk. Very professional and efficient office in all respects. Doctor will go over each test with you and discuss the results. Doctor will patiently answer all of your questions afterwards. Doctor will give you his cell phone number in case of emergencies. CONS: none I really dislike doctors visits, appointments, etc. this may sound crazy, but I almost look forward to my exam and seeing Dr. Mendelsohn and his staff. read more

Regrettably, I guess I'm one of the unfortunate patients that had unsuccessful results from my cataract surgery. My 2018 surgery required three additional surgeries involving two different retina specialists and my problems continue unresolved only worse. Lots of $$$ spent and no end in sight. Had I known then how I would feel today I never would have made the decision I made I 2018. Dr Mendelsohn and most of the staff are exceptionally nice, professional, and helpful. First time needing glasses and I can say definitely not a good experience. The tech who performed most of my exam was the only good part of the visit. When the doctor came in and spent less than 5 minutes with me he seemed very rushed and annoyed that he had to answer any questions. After the exam they walked me into the other part of the office where they sell the glasses. We picked out a pair of eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses. The cost was going to be approx $1200 for each pair! With insurance! Needless to say the lady helping me was not happy when I declined to purchase them. I proceeded to go to the front to check out. I ended up paying $200 for the exam when I have insurance and it clearly stated a lower price. The girl at the desk would not listen to me--did not seem to know how to properly bill. I was so upset and disappointed when I left there. Fast forward 2 weeks when I went somewhere else to buy glasses and the person helping me said the prescription was only good for 3 months! I called the office to ask them why--(everyone I know with glasses told me it's always a year) they said it is their office policy to make them 3 months. What??? I guess so that you will go in and pay another $200 for another exam. I will not go back again and would definitely give them 0 stars if that was an option. read more

I needed to find a new doc for my yearly eye exam. Staff are generally nice, friendly, efficient. Dr. M seems to know his stuff. Very thorough exam and explanation. Thing is, the office seems to be all about how much money they can get from the patient. Posters all over the office trying to persuade patients as to the medical reasons as to why you need to get this or that, sunglasses, lens upgrades, etc . . . all of which cost money. And while at first it seemed a plus that the optician is on site, HIGHEST PRICE EVER PAID for a pair of glasses. And the optician doesn't take insurance at all! In the future, I will likely get my exam here and take any prescription updates on glasses elsewhere for price comparison (I should have done that this time). This office is fantastic! It's very seldom today that you find yourself in a doctor's office that is clean, up to date on technology, efficient, on time with appointments, can properly process insurance/medical billing, and overall a well oiled machine and operation. This office truly has it all and plenty of happy employees that communicate effectively and give excellent customer service. The ratio in this office is 10 employees to 1 patient which makes getting you in and out of there highly efficient. Did I mention plenty of FREE parking??? Bonus! Dr. Jackie Schwartz has been not only my eye doctor since the beginning of time but has been the eye doctor for three generations of my family, my grandmother, my mother, and myself and my siblings. Dr. Jackie Schwartz actually knows my medical history better than I do which makes diagnosing much easier. She is well worth the 25 minute trek from Miami for her services. She is highly professional and also also has a personality and truly does care about you and your well being and has an excellent memory, once you are her patient, she will remember you and your entire life story which is rare to find in today's medical world. She truly cares about you as a patient and your well being other than your eyesight. She is also not afraid to tell you to stop sleeping in your eyeliner and makeup because that is the true cause of your eye issues rather than just order a bunch of tests to run up your medial bill and bill out your insurance. The waiting room has plenty of seating and a TV to pass time. The intake desk is very large and is well staffed where you will be processed immediately. There are plenty of exam rooms that are very sterile and the techs will clean before and after you. The machines and technology are up to date and make testing extremely accurate and effective. After you are finished, making your next appointment is very easy as well as purchasing any compresses or other recommended accessories. You will even leave with a little goodie bag with cute glasses on it as well as printed instructions for any directions you must follow until your next appointment, who doesn't love a goodie bag?! The office also has a beautiful full retail eyewear/glasses store with both high and low end brands to purchase new frames/lenses with plenty of specialists that will take the time to find what is truly the best for you. The specialists will also be honest with you about what looks best on you so you don't feel like they are trying to up sell you on something that truly isn't flattering just to make more money. I highly recommend Dr. Jackie Schwartz and this office for all your eye related needs. Great medical office and staff as well as retail. They also have weekend, early morning, and late hours so that you do not have to request to leave work during the week to go and take care of your medical needs. read more

Worst experience ever. DO NOT COME HERE. Receptionists do not know what they are doing and will try to take as much $ as possible. Was told my insurance covered the procedures to the find out after that I needed to pay $300 after getting a simple eye exam done? I have great insurance this is unacceptable. Forced me to pay and got treated me like shit. Do not give them your $ RUN. Worst customer service I've receive. They treat you better in Walmart. read more

Very impersonal "care". More interested in your insurance than your needs. I felt like I was on an assembly line and the Dr was quick to finish the exam. After my exams I was brought to their eyeglass store where a salesman tried to sell me expensive glasses I couldn't afford. It was a very uncomfortable situation. I won't ever go back. read more

Staff is nice. Place is very clean and doctor Klein is awesome. What stopped me from giving 5 stars was the wait time. Absolutely grueling to sit and wait for 2 hrs to see the doctor and when he finally came in he would leave and make me wait another 20 min in between the exams. I came on a Sunday morning, which is convenient for me since i work during the week, hoping it would be Quick and painless but it took all morning from 9-12 for a regular annual exam. read more

I found this office when I was looking for a surgeon to fix my cataracts. Everybody there seems to have one goal: to make you feel good. They treat you as a human been a not just as a dollar sign. I had my eyes fixed by Alan Mendelsohn. From day one he has been patient enough to listen and answer all my questions about the procedure and the recovery process. Turns out I had a staph infection in both eyes and needed antibiotics asap. Dr. Mendelson was so informative, caring and charming. I felt very comfortable and safe in his care. Professional, patient, personable are the first 3 words that come to mind with Dr. Mendelsohn. My family has been seeing him for 20 years. He is great with children of all ages. He explains everything you need to know about any eye condition you may have until you understand it. He is available within a few minutes if there is any kind of emergency. When my daughter was in NY she had an eye emergency and called Dr. Mendelsohn. He responded immediately and took care of the problem. In addition to his professional manner he instills in his staff his own personal work ethic. Every person in the office gives every client 100% just like Dr. Mendelsohn.
