This was my first time coming to the new location for Family Eye Center. The location is clean and inviting. They were able to accommodate an early appointment on the weekend. The main reason I come back here is because they have one of the best doctors from my experiences at other places . They take VSP and that has helped drastically with the prices. They really seem like a family and I also enjoy seeing the familiar faces over the years. For some reason I find better service here than in the chains. read more

I was warned about this office, but still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. In my experience, optometrist was rude and cutting. Office staff can be disrespectful. I was very excited when this place opened up in the new location in Davie. I asked for an appointment, and they accommodated me the next day. This was the ONE positive experience. I got there 10 minutes early, AND I had all the paperwork completed before my arrival. I thought I would be in and out. I waited over an hour to be called to the first exam room(he was nice). I was then moved to another room to wait for the doctor. I waited for approximately 45 min for the doctor and he was in a rush. The doctor was nice but I felt I have had more thorough examinations at other optometrists in the past (including Target). He changed my prescription and type of contact lens. I was sent to the next room to place an order right away. I asked if I could have a few more days to try (these were dailies) since, in a couple of hours, I would not be able to know if this new prescription and brand would work for me. She refused and told me that I should know immediately if they are good or not. I disagreed and told her I needed to wear them for more than a couple of days doing my daily work/drive/home routine, and she still refused to give me another trial. At that point I asked her to give me my prescription that I would call back if I was going to order. I called her back the next day and told her I wanted to go back to the brand i used in the past and to please give me a trial of that instead and she told them they don't carry them and they would have to order them and it would 5-7 days. She said all her clients in the past 10 years including herself, know right away if contacts are a good fit. I told her that's great for you and your other clients, but I need time. I picked up a trial of my past contact lenses brand at a different store. The new prescription the doctor gave me is not good for me, I will need to see another doctor to adjust it and pay in full out of pocket (since they used my insurance benefits, but i will not go back to this office. I should have read the previous reviews before making an appointment. RUDE office staff! read more

I was hesitant about going back to Family Eye Center this year because of the poor experience last year. The only reason why I came back was because of Dr. G. He is amazing. Some of the staff members are very nice and others are very rude. The staff members that I dealt with today were polite and courteous. However, I was there for two hours before my daughter completed her entire experience. Also, I inquired about pricing of glasses for my daughter, the young lady response was offensive. Similar to other customers, I simply wanted to get the best price for glasses. Also, this place is supposed to be family oriented environment, and one of the staff members was using profanity with a customer. When the customer brought to her attention that a child was in the room. She simply shoved it off and stated that they be all right. This confirms my feelings from last year. I have been a patient of Dr. G for almost 20 years but recently the Doctor's business sense has suffered. Recently I had an appointment and when I arrived there was only one patient in the waiting room who mentioned his appointment was a half hour ago and hadn't seen any one of the doctor's around. Asking the receptionist about the wait time to see Dr. G and she told me I would be seeing the other doctor--which I found strange since I have only seen Dr. G in my ten years of coming here. My issue for returning was that my glasses prescription seemed off but seeing as my recent visits had results less than satisfactory (previous reading glasses script was wrong--and despite the initial response of no it's correct--once I brought in the glasses, it was agreed they were wrong, but mostly it's the chronic wait before any and during an appointment there is too much time taken up with jumping from one patient to another thus making the visit longer. Realizing there is an eye doctor on every corner, I shopped around and found another practitioner, got an appointment and received the glasses in record time at half the cost of the Family Eye Center. read more

I am very disappointed with the office staff. I have been a patient for years and we ran into an issue with the Cobra insurance for my son. I had proof he has active coverage but the refused to work with us to see him and bill the insurance once the error was fixed. We waited a week to be seen here but I had to cancel since they wouldn't work with me. I understand that this may have been difficult with their system, but the attitude and lack of professionalism in which the office manager handled this conversation was extremely disappointing. I will not return to this office, nor will I recommend this office which is unfortunate because I feel Dr. Gramanzini is an excellent physician. read more

I have zero complaints about Dr. Gramanzini and his ability to administer a thorough eye exam. Unfortunately, his staff at the front desk (both the man and the woman) were both very rude and tried endlessly to push their agenda without concern or regard to what I wanted or needed. The experience was akin to being in a used car dealership surrounded by unpleasant salesmen only interested in making sales with no regard to the consumer. In terms of customer service, they truly have a lot to improve upon and I would NOT RECOMMENDED this facility based on that interaction alone. Terrible experience. Decided not to buy lenses or glasses because they are super overpriced. Came in today to pick up my script to get cheaper lens and glasses from Costco. The fake ginger at the front desk wouldnt give me my script because allegedly I ordered my lenses??? What? Never approved them to order my lenses because I was going to Costco. Make sure you review all pricing before they start your exam. Don't trust the employees, read the fine print and ask a lot of questions. read more

The Family Eye Center has been taking care of my eye needs for the last six years or so. The two optometrists are very knowledgeable and have good personalities. You will like them both! Okay, so let me start off with this: if good customer service is even REMOTELY important to you, do not come here. If quality service is remotely important to you, do not come here. Unfortunately I have had the displeasure of having to speak to the same horribly rude front desk attendant everytime I've come in. I think she is the only one who is working there because we have dealt with her and her incredibly obnoxious behavior every single time we've come into the center. Note that this review is specifically directed to her behavior and unprofessionalism, as well as the quality of the frames at this center. My first bad experience was when I walked in with a friend of mine to order a new set of frames and prescription lenses for my boyfriend. This was my first time meeting our angry faced front attendant. At this moment I was fine with handling her curt responses and her "I really don't want to be here" attitude, some people have bad days or don't like their jobs, it's ok. So we pay and order the glasses after being PROMISED that they would have them the next morning. I swear, that is what they said because that was the reason why we purchased them for almost $500. I can tell you they were not ready, and my boyfriend really needed the glasses. I called their center near the end of the day because they definitely did not call me, and received a half-ass annoyed "We will call you when they're ready". Pretty sure it was the same front desk attendant from before. Eventually the next day became 3 days later. We were worried because he was running out of contacts and we really, really, needed the glasses. My boyfriend went in person to the center to find out how much longer it would be and was told they weren't ready. He then called me because he was really confused as to why it was taking so long when they initially PROMISED us it would be ready the day after purchase. I then called the center, pretty irate, because we had spent $500 on a product we weren't receiving. The woman who was on the phone, I am 100% positive was the same rude front desk woman I have been dealing with twice already. She yelled at me and used a very, very rude tone towards me, and told me they would call when the glasses were ready. Eventually we received the glasses, probably 5-7 days after purchase (thanks), but, this would not be our last experience with the horrible customer service. About a year later we head into the center to have a pair of lenses replaced since they were all scratched up from working. We were greeted by a gentleman at the front desk, and unfortunately we were also greeted by the same woman's sour face from the year before. They had someone come over to us to explain another, stronger, type of lens they could replace his with and we ended up ordering it and paying. We ran into the same issue as the year before with the delayed wait on the lenses. SO about 2 weeks ago (a week and a half to two weeks after they replaced the lens) the frames snapped underneath a lens. This was RIGHT after the center had swapped the lenses, so we suspected it was faulty handiwork on their part. Because we live in Palm Beach County we had my mother in law go into the center for us to see what they could do for us. They offered to replace the frames for a discount so we took it. My boyfriend went in today to have his frames replaced and felt so horrible and uncomfortable with how they treated him. They blamed him for breaking the frames and he told me that the rude front desk girl was there and was very rude to him as well. I can tell you that this will be the VERY. VERY. Last time we will EVER come into this center. I will refer everyone I know to any center except for this one. I just can not stand how horrible their customer service is, especially when it involves their own product quality. It is disgusting. Seriously, try somewhere else. I really can't say anything for the optometrist here because I never spoke to anyone else but the front desk woman but spend your money elsewhere. read more

Dr. Gramanzini was great. He took his time and explained everything. However, they pushed me to use these daily contacts bc of my "eye condition" but they are the WORST contacts I have ever used and I have been a contact lens user for many years. I had to go back and try different brands, but again they kept pushing me to get dailies. I finally just gave up and settled for these dailies, that I suffer wearing everyday. I wanted only 6 months supply bc I don't like them, but I was forced to buy 1 year supply because They were an exchange for a previous supply they made me purchase without even trying them for a couple days to make sure they're comfortable to wear. They are all about taking your money and not about keeping their customers satisfied. read more

The office was very friendly. The doctor was excellent. Volunteers information without being asked. I have had issues for the last fifteen years with my eyes. I've been to Bascom Palmer and still go to them for my retina but the doctor here was so detailed and I understood more about my condition and other helpful information that no one has told me about because I didn't have the right questions. The doctor seems a little like the guy from the Dry Eye commercials but he is excellent. I haven't stopped raving about him to my co-workers. The prior reviews about their selection of frames is right. It's not a huge selection but there is a good selection. They have Tiffany glasses and other high end glass mostly. read more

The office is is nice and clean, and the doctor is perfect and explained and answered all of our questions and concerns. There equipment is up to date and working. The guys in the Staff are courteous and professional. However, the girl with the black hair who's name I did not remember could be a little more friendlier and courteous. She should also pay more attention to the paperwork that is placed in the patient file folder. Her mixup caused the tech to miss one of the eye test exams that I felt was important to me. Because of this, I was not able to get the results in a timely manner. I had to return to the office and take the exam. The technician had apologized for the mixup and immediately took me into the room to perform the test. I was not able to get the results of the test at that moment because the doctor was with another patient. Thanks again and I look forward to my next exam. read more

I am from out of town and was in the area for a funeral. In the mix of all the craziness I lost my last pair of contacts. The staff took me in with such short notice, gave me more information that wound up assisting me in more ways than one left with contacts & a pair of new frames. I use to drive 35 minutes to this place... and since it's was only every few years I didn't mind. Now that I love closer, I'm so glad that I have such an amazing eye doctor so close to me. Front desk are always happy and helpful.. I love the automaton and technology his facility offers..all the staff are friendly and accommodating....(brought me water when I could stop coughing ) awesome selection of eyewear.. yes I loke high end ... but they have lower options as well. Let me start by saying that I have not visited this location in person. I called recently to set up an appointment and had some questions about coverage. I am a patient person but I appreciate being treated like I would treat anyone else. The woman on the phone was rude, constantly interrupting before I could finish a sentence of maybe 10 words. She kept repeating the same thing without an explanation. I believe that if I am trying to choose a physicians office I should pick some where I am going to be comfortable. This is not that place. I was extremely happy with their service, both the optometrist and Matt who helped me pick out frames and explained my coverage. The Dr took the time to explain what he was looking for in the extra photos they took of my eyes. Matt explained how much out of pocket I would have to pay, and was very patient in pricing out the different frames. I didn't feel any pressure to "have to" buy from them, even though I will because I liked the service and their prices are very fair. They have a good selection of modern, hip, name brand frames. I went last year to get transition lenses for my frames. Upon receiving my new glasses I noticed my vision was warped and distorted. They told me nothing was wrong with the lenses and that I would get used to them in time. Well I didn't. This year I got another pair of lenses for a new frame I got with the same prescription and they came out perfect! For good measure I dug up an old pair of glasses from 2 yrs ago and again my vision was perfect. Which means I was walking around with a pair of defective lens for a year because they didn't want to bother correcting them!!! read more
