I wouldn't trust my eyes with anyone else! Dr. Betancourt and the whole Pines Vision Care staff have been my eyes' saving grace since 2014. I've been getting eye migraines from too much screen time (anyone else?) so I decided to finally come back for an eye check-up. I haven't been back since 2018, so I was excited at the thought of getting some new frames. Healthcare is one of those categories of businesses where you usually find your provider through your insurance or through recommendations and I can say that I wholeheartedly recommend this office. Everyone is friendly and appointments are a breeze to schedule and go through. Dr. Betancourt is such a gem of a doctor & really takes her time to go through any concerns you may have plus answer questions with what is happening. She answered all my questions and helped me find a possible solution to my light sensitivity and eye migraines. They gave me two different sets of prescriptions (one for nighttime driving & one for computer/screen use, thanks astigmatism!) They also help if you have any problems with your current frames and have pads for glasses to purchases in case yours fall off. Thank you Pines Vision Care for amazing eye care everytime! Pro tip: Don't plan on doing anything for a few hours after an appointment if you're getting your eyes dilated! It might be common sense but I learned this the hard way haha read more

Extremely unprofessional experience at Pines Vision Care on July 2nd. My medical history was discussed loudly in front of other patients -- a clear HIPAA violation. Staff made an inappropriate joke about pregnancy, despite my being 57. They refused to perform my exam due to "dry eyes" and pushed overpriced drops only available through their office. Then tried to charge me $99 because they couldn't verify my insurance. I won't be going back. read more

The staff here is amazing. They are friendly and very accommodating. They are very good on time and respect your time. Dr. McIver is excellent. My entire family sees him and he has helped all of us immensely. I have dry eyes with something called ocular rosacea and he knew just what to do so I don't suffer with symptoms any longer. He had my daughter switch from glasses to contacts at a fairly young age and she loves them. I love this place so much I refer people here all the time. The variety of glasses that they offere is limited. The prices are really high. Glasses of low quality for high prices, for instance a pair of glasses that you can find somewhere else, like Ross, Marshalls etc. for less than $20 dollars at this place are more than $150, plastic cheap glasses made in China. Ahhh and because they are "cheap" less than $200 dollars they give you an even cheaper case that in my case already fell apart. Since I used my insurance, if the glasses cost less than your allowance, you can't use the leftover money to pay for a portion o a second pair. What??? I went for a prescription glasses and it took more than 2 weeks for the glasses to be ready, but they did not call me. I had to be calling to find out that they were ready and ohhh what a coincidence they just got there (they answered at the moment that I called). That is not customer service, that means if I don't call, probably I be still waiting for my glasses. Unfortunatelly I've been there twice and obviosuly I won't go there next time, the 2 times it happened the same. I had to call to see if my glasses were ready..... Really? Nobody called me to say hey, your glasses are here ready for pick up. Same story twice??? bahh I don't think so. Neglicence sounds more like it. read more

Has adapted great throughout the corona virus period. Went for a vision test, then later returned for a pair of glasses. The staff was great, and very friendly. This place has been here forever but my family including young kids have been coming here at least for the last 5 or 6 years. The doctors are both excellent and knowledgeable. Dr. Betancourt is really good with kids. Their staff has been the same which says a lot. Their front desk is very friendly too especially Jo. They also have a lot of nice frames. I highly recommend this place and don't expect to be changing eye drs anytime soon. read more

The doctor is great. Very nice and attentive guy. The office staff on the other hand is terrible. They have a bad attitude and seemed irked when I requested multiple adjustments to my new glasses. They also don't seem to have a grasp on how sound travels in a small office like this. I could hear the conversation about me the receptionist was having with the guy in the rear fixing my glasses. My new glasses also came with a scratch on one of the lenses and they also didn't seem to care; no attempt to get them fixed with any kind of rush. I've been coming here for the doctor but this will be my last time. I don't need to deal with petulant office staff to get glasses that are subpar. read more

I drove from Sunrise to Pembroke Pines to go see the eye Doctors here. I had not seen them since 1996 when I took my child. I knew then that they were loving, kind, and patient. Well one bad experience will send you across town to them. Their facility is located on West Pines Blvd, West of I-75 and East of 184th in the shopping plaza behind Dunkin Donuts. Their facility is state of the art and immaculate! I went in the office quite frankly a little on the crabby side and left laughing and smiling. I was ushered in right away for two types of tests and during one of them I am sure I was worse than a 2 year old. We were laughing but she even made me feel better by saying that's okay...there is no one waiting, we will get it! Ha - ha! Then as much as I have always wanted glasses because I thought they help you look smart, now that I need them, I don't want them. LoL! The doctor was the best though, he used the analogy of bench pressing weights. The spotter is there for support if and when you need it. You can probably get away with not using them, but you could be straying and in the end may hurt yourself. I felt better for sure!! So in picking out my glasses, I took the two youngest cutest girls in the office and they helped me pick them out as looking old will never be an option until I can't help it! That's my story and I am sticking to it. Wonderful office, everyone is patient, supportive, and funny. They look up your insurances and are very specific in what all it will cover. We have been patients at Pines Vision Care for many years. I don't see how they could be any better. The Dr's are excellent, patient and attentive. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They always have suggestions on the most efficient way to buy our contacts and glasses in terms of both our payment and the insurance payment. We always find ourselves running out of contact lenses .... we call the store, go straight round and pick up a new box. If they don't have the right box they give us interim lenses until the right ones arrive. We always feel like we are their only patient. Like I said.....I really don't see how they could be any better. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I had an appointment today at 11:15am for a simple contact lens follow up and pupil dilation. I arrived at 11:10am, signed in and sat down. By 11:45am I had not been seen wile other patients with appointments after mine were being seen. When I inquired about this the staff was very dismissive and didn't care about my time. After waiting an additional 10 minutes and seeing another patient go in ahead of me I asked for my prescription so I could order my contacts online. After some back and forth I was told by a staff member that if I ordered my contacts online they would deny it. After asking several more times for my prescription she finally gave it to me. I will not be going back and I suggest the same for anyone considering Pines Vision Care. read more
