I have been to 5 different eye institutes ranging from optometrists to ophthalmology over the past 3 years with the complaint of cloudy vision following artificial lens implants (including the practice who implanted the lenses) and was always dismissed and misdiagnosed. Today - I felt heard and understood and was reassured that what I was experiencing was valid. They put me through a ton of different exams and reassured me that the implants were ok and I didn't need glasses or contacts and they put collagen plugs in my tear ducts right then and there and my vision is already almost perfect. They also offered me a follow up appointment with other options of this doesn't clear my issue. I am also a physician and understand how important "hearing " a patient is- and I was heard and understood and I am so grateful and happy for this amazing group of physicians and staff. The issue is, I never made an appointment and have no idea who these doctors are and how they got my information. I sent them a message asking them to correct their information. The next thing I know, I receive a survey thanking me for the visit (which obviously didn't occur) and asking me to complete the survey. Again, I sent a message asking them to look in to this issue. I never received any response. They then sent a notification another appointment was set up. I sent another message asking them to contact me as to why this is happening when I'm not their patient. They never responded. I received another reminder today and asked for a response which I'm still waiting for. I'm concerned that they may have billed Medicare under my information without me seeing them, or someone is using my information. I have repeatedly asked them to email me how this has happened as I want the information in written form and the last thing I want to do is give them my phone number to call me back and add that to their documentation. I would be concerned to go to this office due to not only this error, but the lack of communication on their part to correct this error.

I have been going to Hollywood Eye Institute for several years now. My first review was positive…read morefor sure...staff is friendly and place seems clean. Lets update my review, the techs do everything, I mean everything....from doing the eye test that you look into where you pick one or is two better. This meeting with the tech is one of your encounters with techs doing everything. So, in the first room they start the sales pitch to get you to do some extra test that cost extra money. If you say yes, they immediately bring the credit card scanner into room so you can pay NOW. Like paying at the end is so hard, like you are some dead beat that won't pay. Now you leave first room with the tech to a back area waiting room to wait for next tech. You get into the next room and more talks about up selling things go on before or right around when the Dr comes in. The doc does a few small things to look at your eyes and they talk about things that maybe wrong with your eyes or not(I got a second opinion which leads me to make that statement) Doc leaves the room and the tech finishes the sales pitch with brochures and the cost of said procedures. If you don't book that day they will call you to see when you would like to book it. I have had 2 upsell procedures where I believed I needed what they were telling me, and....like I explained earlier, I needed to pay right there in the exam room with the CC reader before I could receive the upsell procedure. So this year, the upsell procedure was $1800 and $3600!!!!! Cash or card!!!! This prompted me to get a second opinion.... I did not tell the Dr I went to anything at all about my visit to the other eye doc visit. The second opinion doc said that I had a very mild case of what the Hollywood eye institute lead me to believe that it was way BAD and would get even worse if not treated with this expensive procedure. The 2nd opinion doc recommended about $30-40 of over the counter things to fix it...vs $1800-3600!! SOOOOOOOO...... I take out the brochures that were given to me and asked if these procedures were necessary, much to my surprise the Dr stated that one of the procedure wasn't even relevant to my eyes because it treated for something I didn't even have. The other procedure was kinda relevant ish if you wanted to spend $1800 instead of the $30-40 that I did end of doing. I mean, let's do the least invasive procedure first...no? GOOD LUCK....I HOPE MY REVIEW MADE SENSE.

I spoke to Melanie, Optometric Assistant, who helped me schedule the appointment and found the time that worked best. The exam itself was as thorough as I've ever experienced. Specifically because the prescription was obtained for function AND comfort. As anyone who wears glasses knows, having one and not the other doesn't help. Doctor Zeigler knocked this out of the park and I am exceedingly grateful.
