I've been visiting this location for a few years, and today I needed a last-minute appointment due to pain in my eye. I called first thing this morning, and the receptionist was incredibly kind and helped me get an appointment right away. I was seen almost immediately and didn't have to wait. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful, and I had a solution within an hour. I'm very thankful for the kindness and care I received from this office during a moment when I was in pain and feeling worried. It truly made a difference. Receptionist was in a bad mood. Her tone was not warm or friendly, it was terse and clipped. My husband reacted to her after she said that all 3 of us couldn't come in at the same time like we have been doing for years. Only 2 can come. It is inconvenient to break up our appointments. Ridiculous really. Like we want to drive 15 miles round trip more than we need to. We will go elsewhere. They lost 3 customers. Usually we buy glasses and contacts there too. We have been going here for over 10 years. They used to be so professional and seemed to value our business. Now it's like they are doing us a favor. I set up an appointment through ZOCDOC for my wife and I and myself couldn't make it so I left a message saying I couldn't make and when rescheduled on the app it was ok,, but out of the blue this location text me and said that they were canceling my appointment,, wow! What kind of crap is that!? Is this tit for tat?? But my wife went in as a new patient, and I asked how it was after she got done, and she said that the doctor was in and out and simply didn't take the time that he should have knowing that my wife was a new patient! My wife won't say anything but, I will!! If you want personal care and it being quality, I would go somewhere else! I have been a patient of Eye Tech Eyes for about 20 years and they have been excellent with my needs. Recently, there has been quite a change in staff and I am certainly hoping that all who are involved will remain as efficient, personable and professional as what I saw in my appointment last week. I see Dr. Wellman and think he is great. Decided to purchase my new glasses at their optical department, which is at the same facility and I worked with Bre, who was not only quite thorough but very personable. I've never had to get re-prescribed nor glasses readjusted in the same year in my life. I came here and the optometrist gave me a prescription that was way too high and was blurry and gave me headaches and the doctor refused to listen to me claiming it was "the right prescription". I came back, requesting the other optometrist, and he gave me the right prescription and was very sweet but I still had an issue with the glasses being too tight on one side, also giving me headaches. I have come back here 4-5 times now for the same glasses frames and they still sit on my head improperly. The first readjustment the lady took the end of the glasses and bent it straight down instead of a slight curve which I've never seen in my life and it seriously bothered me sensor wise because it was touching the back of my ear all the way down. I came a third time and the new lady was horrified by what the previous lady had done and readjusted it back to normal but it was still too tight on one side. I came back again, the lady I saw was utterly rude and disrespectful to me then ended up passing me to someone else because she was done with me I guess, not sure why she was so upset, and the next lady just so happened to be that First Lady I had seen for a readjustment, and she bent it straight down again, despite all that work that other lady had done to fix it, then when I told her I didn't like it like that, she refused to listen to me and told me that's the only way it's not going to fall off my face. She also told me that if I didn't hurry up I was going to leave happy or not (one other customer in the store who was already being helped by someone else). I know with this many inconveniences it would seem like I'm the problem, but I've been wearing glasses for 12 years and this is the first time I've ever need a re-prescription or a readjustment. I will say these glasses have wire edges which is a first for me, but I've also never had this many problems with a frame in my life. They also smudge so easily and are very hard to clean on top of not fitting me properly. Do not come here. The employees lack expertise and have terrible customer service, and even the products are faulty. read more

I had an exam and purchased overpriced glasses in December of 22. I don't live in phoenix and so has no opportunity to return them. The script was off and it made me dizzy even wearing them. I tried to return them recently and were told no returns after 90 days. I offered to pay their cost for replacement lenses but they were not interested in helping me. This business cares little for patients and is just a profit hungry company selling outrageously priced second rate glasses to the gullible, which I obviously was. Avoid this business. read more

The charges are very confusing, listen closely. I feel sorry for the young ladies that have to try and explain. Outside of that all associates are extremely well trained and very efficient and accommodating. Dr. Tanner is very easy to talk to and understand, thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My husband had a procedure at a local hospital and while taping his eyelid apparently the tape rubbed it. That is our best guess. He woke up in major pain. Hospital suggested ER. One nurse- grateful for her- said go to Eye Tech. It was near the end of the day. He is still in the bed hooked up. I call and they graciously agree to see him. Hospital gets us on our way quickly and he definitely had a corneal abrasion. Meds ordered and we headed home. So grateful that Dr Summerhazen helped us! Thank you! read more

I've been fighting with them since October to get my prescription correct. I understand that it takes time to get used to new glasses but they shouldn't make you dizzy or sick to wear them. I was a patient for about 15 years that they could care less if they lost a patient. Picked up my glasses again and they still are not correct. They have lost my business as well as my families. I went here for the first time last year from a recommendation of a coworker... was not impressed with this office. The doctor didn't do the exam, only checked the work of the assistant. Left with a mediocre contact prescription and unhappy. Decided to go elsewhere this year and glad I did! Went in for exam in Peoria Arizona. They never told me I would be blind when I came home from the super bright light after putting a bright yellowish dye in my eye, opening up my retina. I remember other places used to send you home with cheap plastic sun glasses. I had none! Barely made it home alive since I was nearly blind all the way home and in pain. They "fixed" my old pair of glasses, and put in new screws after stating that Costco screws were cheap and fall out, which never happend to me once in the 2 years I had them. 4 days later, I put my old glasses on and the screw fell out and the lense clattered all over the pavement. I had to use tape to hold my old glasses together until I finally get my pair that I had to pay for up front! read more

Worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. The techs lie about exams that insurance requires which in fact they don't. I refused dialation on my eyes and they tried to tell me I had to pay for a retinal eye picture, which is not covered by insurance. And is considering optional according to my insurance policy. I have been a lifetime customer of Nationwide eye care. After a recent experience I decided to try another provider. I was referred to Eye Tech Eye Associates by a friend. I was very pleased with my experience. I had an AM appointment. Following paperwork I was promptly taken to a consultation room where they discussed what to expect and went over my expectations. I was then evaluated, had a retina scan, had a contact fitting. The whole process was seamless and smooth. The staff made me feel comfortable and was extremely kind. I got a call for a 1 year return eye exam that was covered by my insurance. Once I got there they wanted me to pay them $65. The $65 was for my deductible/copay which I don't have and $30 for a print out of my test results. So I left because I wanted to check my benefits which are $0 out of pocket and insurance will pay $200 towards glass frames. So please tell me how they came up with the $65? read more

I went for the first time and had an excellent experience! They were so nice to work me in because of my eye was red and puffy and extremely uncomfortable to open! My daughter referred me to Dr Wellman and I was extremely happy! He explained everything to me and spent a lot of time with me. I have Vision insurance. 4 years ago only Eye tech supported my plan. The first year they were good. I thought. They did sell me fish oil pills for $96. Each year it gets worse. They recommend tests that cost extra. They charge for services included in your plan. I've made my last visit. I've canceled my plan and will save money by going elsewhere! read more

I've been going to Eyetech for the last 15 years. Dr. Morgan has been the optometrist for every member of my family, including my parents and siblings. He has been able to diagnose our eye problems accurately and comprehensively. I really like the staff here, especially the people who help you pick out your frames. I am always excited to go get my new glasses because they're so eager to help me find exactly what I want. I'm not easy to please, because I want things like turquoise frames, or bright orange ones, or lime green. They help me find what I want every time. Terrible experience here. Will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office and BBB. Tried progressive's, didn't work. They remade them, still didn't work. I told them I just wanted one pair to wear all the time. Let them know ahead of time that I'm on a computer all day for work. Do you think they told me before ordering that I would need a regular pair just for the computer? Nope! Left with a pair of glasses after spending over $400.00 that I can't wear. They won't give refund or remake into plain readers. They say they already did enough and made no money off me. Well, I lost almost $500.00 for something I can't use! Oh, and by the way... We purchased glasses & within 2 hours called to cancel the order because we went down the street and got the same quality glasses and lenses for half the price. I couldn't pass it up less out-of-pocket for me. Even though it had only been two hours and nothing had been done on the order they charged me $25 to cancel it. I have been going to EYE Tech EYES for a few years now along with my 4 children. Each year I have gone the price increases dramatically and nothing seems to be covered by insurance (I work for the State its amazing insurance). I am a single mom of 4 children and work an hour away from home, they are not accommodating at all. I have to leave work 2 hours early just to pick up my children's glasses because an appointment needed to be made and they make no appointments after 1545 when they do not close til 1630. I was told if I arrive after 1600 hours the doors will be locked and I would not be allowed in to just pick up glasses I was not even asking for an adjustment because it just seemed way too difficult. The Doctors seemed nice and staff seemed to try to be nice, but the office protocol was very unaccommodating. read more

When to this place to get a yearly eye exam for contact lenses. My first impressions were not very good. I had to wait to check in while the receptionist at the counter had a private conversation with another employee. Then after I checked in she let me stand in the lobby for 5 min with no seating. After I joked that they need some seating, the receptionist casualty said the waiting are was in an adjacent room as if I was supposed to know. How long was she going to let me pace? Why didn't she tell me where the waiting room was after I checked in? Not rude just unhelpful. The Dr was very knowledgeable, except he dilated my eyes when I specifically told his tech I didn't want it, and even signed something saying i didn't want it. The Dr. shrugged it off and said the tech didn't put it in the chart. That might be true, but the doctor never said what he was putting in my eyes or what he was doing either which i didn't appreciate. My real problem with this place is when how they make you buy contacts. Instead of the standard procedure where they go over you insurance and place your order after your exam, I was told to go home and use their website to order. The website doesn't answer your questions about billing and insurance issues and can be confusing if you are not used to ordering your own contacts. I tried to calling the office 3 separate times one day to ask questions about their website no one answered the phone. I ended up having to go back to the store to get my questions asked. They were helpful on that second visit, and I eventually placed my order. But seriously what kind of office sends you home to order your own contacts and doesn't answer the phone? Not good. Their ordering system is not customer friendly and the staff I met initially was not overly professional, friendly, or helpful. I've had way better experiences at big chain eye exam stores. This is a very friendly practice.. They listen to and address all your concerns and needs and take care of them... THey have every machine to check eye diseases which some other practices do not..This was the best exam I have ever had in my life.. and he did discover something I am in the middle and the other eye dr never found it nor had a machine to even do so. I was so impressed with their professionalism and genuine concern for my well being, I talked about the appointment for hours afterwards. I have always had a problem getting the right prescription for my glasses and contacts. I was not rushed out, in fact they spent more time making sure I would get everything I needed. I had to have my glasses sent back two times because the lenses were not right and still were not corrected. They refused to send them back a third time. The lenses were defected and were cloudy, I kept telling them that and they wouldn't believe me. They were also too strong for my eyes. I left so immensely frustrated I swore I would never go back and write a review so that more people would be warned. Terrible customer service. They didn't care at all that I was so unhappy.
