NO PUFF OF AIR IN YOUR EYE! Need I say more?! They have new technology for glaucoma testing so you don't have to worry about that stressful test anymore. Maybe nobody else will find that to be amazing but I sure did. The team is SUPER friendly and kind! My hubby has a major fear of anything eye related and they were so genuinely patient and sweet with him. The sales lady was also not pushy at all when I was looking at glasses and suggested a few styles and gave me honest feedback. This vision center had a name change/ownership change and since this took place their service is horrible. You call into a central line who transfers you to 1) a voicemail - and nobody calls you back, 2) a line that rings, then gives you a busy signal and disconnects, or 3) the central line customer service has to create a "task" for them to call you back. So I wait. They were ordering frames so my son can try them on for his prescription sunglasses, we were told this would take three or four business days and it's been three weeks. No callback. No update. And still no regular everyday glasses for either of us! Since this ownership changed the service sucks. For the high cost of their optical options, I expect high end service. Our next time will not be with this optical group. For goodness sake - call with an update if you're behind! read more

NOT HAPPY WITH THE PETELINE PEORIA EYE CENTER! I went in for an eye exam on June 22 and informed them I was leaving the country for a few weeks at the end of July. Glasses came in a week later so I was happy. Then when I went in to pick them up, I found they expected me to read with the material I'm reading 4 inches from my eyes. The Dr. had asked during the exam where I hold what I'm reading and I showed him. Evidently I should have brought a tape measure with me because he was way off. Then when trying to see distance, I found that was off as well. I explained during the exam that I currently use readers and I where them low on my nose so I can see over the readers for distance. Nothing was wrong with distance until I tried to use the glasses. So they set up another appointment. They wanted to set it about the 19th of July and I reminded them it wouldn't leave time before leaving the US so it was set for the 5th of July with a different Dr. Came in on July 5th, went through the exam again and was told they would call me when they came in. I tried calling on July 19th to check on the status and only got a control center that transferred me to the Peoria location. Once their phone answered, I was given a recording of how my call is very important to them and to leave a message and that they would get back to me. I waited three hours for a return call so I called the control center again where the lady I was speaking to stated that she was going to contact the Peoria office and that I should receive a call in the morning because she was making this a priority. I didn't receive any call on July 20th so at 4:30pm I called the control center again where I was transferred to the Peoria center where again I heard the wonderful message of how important my call is. I called the control center back and explained that nothing had changed and I still hadn't gotten any information. I was transferred to a manager who finally was able to say that my glasses should be in on July 25th. I picked them up on the 26th and being told that I would have to get used to them, I left. I wore them all day and they still weren't right. I have to hold what I am reading inches from my face and that was not what I asked for. I called the center again only to be transferred again. I spoke with the lady that presented my glasses to me and I explained they still aren't right. Again they were saying they will see what they can do. Meanwhile I'm expected to just continue using store bought readers on my trip because Peteline Eye can't seem to get it right. I returned on August 20th and went to Peteline Eye to enquire if my glasses had come in during my three weeks away, I'm told "let me check and to have a seat while she checks." While sitting at the fitting table, I hear the lady speaking to someone on the phone asking for the status of my glasses. At this point I'm done. I left disgusted with their lack of service. I started on June 22nd with the initial eye exam and they failed to get the prescription right. Took a second eye exam on July 5th and it still was not correct. They could not provide me with correct glasses by July 31st when I was scheduled to leave on vacation so I was forced to use simple readers. Returned on August 20th and when I went in on August 22nd to check back and they still did not have them. That's two full months of waiting and they still did not have them. They fail in every sense from being able to return simple phone calls to providing glasses within a two month time frame. I would rate them a "0 stars" if it was available. I WOULD NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

I like the doctor and the staff. Great selection of frames. They'll happily pull up your insurance and give you prices for days on the various lenses you can purchase. They were really patient with me and gave me solid, honest advice on which frames looked best. My husband got glue/caulking... in his eyeball. Yes, in his eyeball. I had a good eye exam with Dr. Egea, which included two additional tests at extra cost I had authorized in writing in the initial paperwork. Then I went to the optical area to order glasses. I was told verbally what the cost of glasses would be before and after insurance. My request for a detailed breakdown of the charges was refused; I was told I would get that when I pick up my glasses. I didn't get one when I picked up the glasses, with the excuse that their system had been down for over a week and it wasn't their fault. A copy of the handwritten breakdown could certainly have been offered at any time. Imagine my surprise when the night I first used my new glasses I started seeing blue circles of light around any street lights or other artificial lights. I finally figured out why that was happening - a blue anti-reflective coating had been added to the lenses without my knowledge or consent. I took the glasses back to Peoria Eye Care and was told "I mentioned anti-reflection coating when I read off the costs to you. I'm sorry you misunderstood what I said." No refund was offered, I still have no written breakdown of charges and no prescription, and I was forced to verbally consent to have a different color anti-reflective coating applied in order to avoid paying a whopping $85.00 for nothing. My husband was a witness that my consent was not given for anti-reflective coating, which I don't like and don't want. These are business practices that do not follow established ethical standards, and border on fraud. Please beware. read more

An outstanding team, from the doctor to all the staff. it's a local optometrist everyone wishes they had, its hard to find. I'm so glad they're here, it's pretty obvious that care a lot about their patients, and they all enjoy working together. Great team and it shows. Doctor offered very clear advice, on pros and cons of Lasik surgery, and different options on glasses and contacts. This is THE WORST eye care center! The doctor is lovely, but the person that helps fit your glasses is belittling to all that she interacts with. I've seen her be rude to others, and when my glasses we're giving me troubles, she kept "blaming" it on me. I scheduled an appointment on 5/17/22 for 6/16/22. They put me down for 6/9/22 by their mistake, and never sent a text or called to confirm and never called when I "missed" my appointment, only sent an email saying I missed the appointment. I never had any missed calls. Then I get there today and they say they can't squeeze me in until 3 hours later even though they had an open 10:45 slot and I only needed a routine eye exam and contact lenses. Really unprofessional front desk staff who kept blaming me for "missing the appointment" when they put me down for the wrong day and then never called to confirm, never called on 6/9 at the alleged appointment time, and only sent an email the following day. On December 10th, I had a 6 PM contact follow up. I was asked to be there 15 minutes early to allow my contacts to settle in before the Dr. would see me. I arrived to put my contacts in and sat in the lobby for well over 45 minutes. I wasn't put into a room until 6:45 and their office closes at 7:00. No apologies from the staff for the delay. Although I think Dr. Tara is a wonderful practitioner, I can't give kudos to the office staff. I went to have my eyeglass prescription and found the frames that I really liked. I was told by the staff member that I would have a better advantage with my insurance to fulfill the eyeglasses rather than the contacts. I was fine with that. As a consumer, I wanted to check Costco's pricing for my contacts. With that being said I asked for a copy of my contact prescription since I didn't have it with me. Well, they wanted to charge me a dollar to re-print it out. I was floored since I just paid over $200.00 for my eye exam, and was ready to order my glasses for over $400.00 Needless to say, they lost an eyeglass sale and a long-standing customer. read more

We were extremely disappointed with the services provided by this group. We moved to AZ just before the COVID lock down and had to waited about a year to get our vision exams. This practice was just around the corner from our home in Peoria and we thought because of the location and their new affiliation with Petelin Vision in Scottsdale they would be eye care professionals.... WRONG My husband and I had back to back appointments and the actual eye imaging and testing was done by an office employee. Then during my actual eye exam with the doctor, the doctor couldn't access all of my imaging and I was sent back to have it redone. BUT when I was returned back to the examine room, to finish my eye exam, a new patient was in the room and the doctor had moved. So needless to say, the doctor and I had ZERO discussion as to what if anything had changed with my vision needs... there was no discussion about changing me from Monovision contacts to Multifocal Contacts... nor was there any discussion or informed provided to me with regard to my overall eye health or issues i.e.: like Glaucoma or eye deterioration. From there we were moved along to the front area to work with someone else, in their eyeglass & contact sales... I don't know the name of the lady we worked with, but she was pushy, rude and didn't give a hoot about anything WE wanted Anyway I was given some contacts to try temporarily until my new prescription came in... it was at that time I was told that they were going to change me to something called a Multifocal contact vs the Monovision contacts I've always had... from the minute I put these temporary contacts in to my eyes they felt like I had sand in them.... when I questioned this, prior to leaving their office, I was told repeatedly that it was going to take a few hours for my eyes to adjust and that it would be fine... I was also informed that I was being switched from my day & night contacts to one that had to be removed everyday WHICH I ABSOLUTELY DIDNT WANT!!!! From the time we left the office, I could NOT read anything... 35 minutes later I was on the phone with them, my eyes were watering and getting pink... and again I was told I needed to give them more time. An hour and 1/2 later, my eyes were bright red and starting to swell and I'm back on the phone with them... and again I'm told to leave them in and give them more times. 3 hours later I called again AND AGAIN I'M WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO GIVE THEM MORE TIME!!!! At that point I took them out because I still couldn't even read something as small as street sign, my eyes were weeping out of control, they were bright red and swollen, I had a migraine and I was now sick to my stomach. When they called me 2+ weeks later to tell me that my contacts were in, I again expressed my concerns, but I was assured everything was going to be fine, because my problem must have been with the manufacturer of the Multifocal lens they had originally had me try, but they had ordered my new "trial pair" from Alcon in a Night & Day so I should be fine. Well I'm not fine... first of all, I didn't want Multifocal lens!!! I wanted to stay with Monovision contacts.... But the woman helping me didn't care what I wanted!!!! And even told me I couldn't have Monovision lenses anymore??? This was an out and out lie!!! Then when we arrived to pick up my husbands VERY expensive glasses and my useless contacts... she actually sat there and argued with my husband, when he told her several times that the line in his bifocal were set too high!!! This must be her/their SOP... because while we were waiting in the front office to be helped, we observed this same woman, treat an older couple the same way she had treated us... both he and his wife had concerns with their new glasses, and the gentleman kept telling her he that he couldn't see and kept looking around the room, and she told him he just needed to give it a few days until his eye could adjust to his new glasses and he could find the sweet spot!!! Good grief And after seeing a different eye doctor... it turned out my biggest problem, that I was having with the contacts they FORCED me to get!!! was that they sent me home with (and then again ordered me another trial set of contacts from Alcon) with a BC (the curve size that sits on your Cornea) of 8.6 which is TOO big for eye, so they were never going to be comfortable in my eye no-matter how long I wore them... apparently some manufactures only make a contacts with a BC size of 8.6 and/or some eye doctors only choose to carry them in BC 8.6 size, because its considered the generic size (along the lines of "one size fits all") and fits the largest majority of people... so ladies & gents, try imagining how uncomfortable it would be to wear the wrong size shoe all day, if we all had to wear a size 7... even if your a size 12 or a 3 1/2 ugggggh! Go anywhere else but here!!! read more

**BEWARE** This is the worst vision office! After being a loyal patient for 10+ years I will never return. The front office staff is rude & unprofessional. After spending $1500 + on designer frames and contacts, my vision was worse & I had horrible headaches so I scheduled a follow up. The day before my appointment, someone called to see if I could come in hours earlier than my 3pm appt. - I told them I would try. The next day, I arrived at 2:45 and was turned away because i hadn't shown up on time and the Dr. had a 3pm appt. following mine. Even after explaining to her that I was the 3pm appt she insisted I reschedule. This is only one of many negative experiences, they will never get another dime from me and my family. read more

Awesome Doctor, terrible front desk and optometry department, I was lied to about my coverage and that I couldn't get glass instead of polycarbonate lenses, because glass was no longer made for glasses. Peoria Eye Care had already authorized payment for the lenses and materials before I even choose any products! The Visionworks manager had to call VSP to get a release and get a new authorization code, since Peoria Eye Care was uncoroporative with them and flat refused to give the authorization code to them, resulting in a longer wait time and twice the work for Visionworks. read more

Ran out of contact lens and leaving on a trip in a day. Called and asked if I could get one pair of lens just so I have something on the trip. The front desk person said no because my prescription had expired and I would have to make an appointment. I understand the issue of the prescription expiring but certainly the doctor could simply write a 30 day one, so I could at least be covered for my trip. When I asked to speak to the doctor the front desk said no and would not have the doctor call me back. Absolutely atrocious. Needless to say, I'm done with Peoria Eye Care. read more

Dr. KALYNN EGEA, O.D. is amazing- had our 1st time eye exam by her and this exam was the best one ever. She advised me I needed glasses to drive as my disctance was off & I had a slight astigmatism. Disappointing. Glasses arrived 3 weeks late; was not satisfied with them but sales staff was not willing to exchange glasses. They wanted me to buy another frame to put the lenses in. Expensive and sales staff not helpful unless you are spending. Not all bad Dr. was pleasant. For 325 glasses and a family of 5 I will take my business to a company that wants to make sure I am satisfied. As the sales agent stated they are too small to guarentee anything like the big stores. read more

Great selection of adult and childrens glasses. I was greeted immediately. The paperwork for a first time patient was short. I was seen on time. My doctor was very pleasant and friendly. Please stay far far far away from his eye doctor. They are horribly irresponsible, covid deniers and anti vaxxers/maskers. I had an appointment and they told me it was OK to bring my son who is two years old and has asthma. We arrive to find a sign on the door that masks are optional. So I asked the receptionist before I came in "that means for vaccinated people right?" and she said "no masks are optional for everyone." So I clarified that "At least the staff was vaccinated?" and she goes "no none of us are vaccinated." This not only goes against the CDC guidelines but I don't know how you can properly keep your patients and staff safe when you're inches from peoples face all day with no masks and no vaccinations. We walked straight out. I loved this place before but never ever ever again. How can I trust a Doctor Who doesn't even care to keep their patient safe during global pandemic. I hate leaving a bad review, but I feel that I need to share my experience about Peoria Eye Care. I was with Peoria Eye Care for at least a decade, and I never had a problem there until the summer of 2018. I was given a new prescription and got new glasses, and I spent over $500.00 for them. I was having a very hard time getting used to the glasses and was in the office 3 times over the course of 2 weeks working with the optician with getting the glasses adjusted. The last time I went to the office the optician, that was previously patient with me, told me "I don't see a problem!" and "I'm not sure how to help you because I don't see your glasses moving!" I was absolutely humiliated when she spoke to me that way, and this was coupled with the fact that I was having a hard time adjusting to my new glasses and wrong prescription. I was uncomfortable visually and was seeking help. The office manager was in ear shot and there was another person in the lobby. I left feeling very humiliated and shocked that I was treated this poorly, especially because I spent so much money on my glasses and was having trouble. On August 11, 2018, I sent a long, detailed letter to Dr. Ransdell explaining my issues and how I was treated in her office. I didn't have access to her e-mail address, and I thought this would be the best way to contact her to let her know I was having trouble with my glasses. I was hoping to resolve my issue with her, but I have a feeling she never got my letter. I never heard back from anyone in the office. I was forced to get my glasses manually adjusted at Walmart because I was turned away by the Peoria Eye Care optician, and my eyeglasses bothered me for a year because I couldn't see out of them very well. I'm now giving my business to a lovely eye doctor not far from Peoria Eye Care, and she is friendly with a 5-star review. There is a reason she has a 5-star review. I feel valued and appreciated at this new location. I can see so well out of my new glasses. I suffered for a year with the wrong glasses, and I think that is why I'm now writing this review. Had the optician took an interest in trying to problem-solve my very real issue, I would still be at Peoria Eye Care and wouldn't have had to suffer for a year with the wrong prescription. She was right; my frames were fine but my prescription was wrong, and I just thought it was the frames giving me trouble. A little problem solving on the optician's end could have saved me a lot of misery over the past year. read more

We were patients of PEC but we decided to look for a different optometrist. Dr Tara Ransdell is great, very knowledgeable, professional, friendly. The problem is her front desk staff are rude. Their rude and unfriendly attitude was not just a one time occurence but a persistent problem. Also, this practice's insistence on making an appointment only if you provide a credit card number to charge you if you are a no-show makes you feel more like a profit center than a patient. They are very helpful and thorough when it comes to finding a pair of glasses that I like and that fit my face well. I like that they take the time to help you find the right pair and will be honest if they think that the pair you are trying on is not the best choice.
