Frida Kahlo is no more. Thank the furry heavens that I found a threader within a few miles of my house! For $12, Purvi shaped by brows to an aligned and balanced perfection. And that's all I really wanted as I have some brows, y'all. Lots of eyebrow. Thus, the reasoning for an expert threader. Some things to know before you go... 1) Purvi basically rents space (a chair) in Don Stella Salon. She also only works Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Thus - call ahead for an appointment! 2) Cash or check only. You'll pay Purvi directly, not the salon itself. 3) To maintain the lovely shape that she creates, you'll want to book appointments every 3-4 weeks. Yay for beautiful brows! read more

I've never had my eyebrows threaded, but a friend of mine recommended I try. Of course I did as she has GORGEOUS eyebrows. However, she gets her eyes brows done in the city & living in the NW suburbs I didn't want to take a train just for my eyebrows. I went on yelp & searched eyebrow threading. After seeing all the positive reviews for Purvi I decided to give it a try! I made my appointment & found it was very easy to get to. I personally parked at the bank, but parking behind the salon would work just as easily. She greeted me with a huge smile & I should also add the women/men who work at the salon she rents her chair at are EXTREMELY friendly. She asked me how I wanted my eyebrows done & made some suggestions. I would recommend maybe bringing a photo reference & if you're like me never having got your eyebrows threaded i would recommend growing them out a bit so that there's a lot more to work with to shape them how you'd like. She did my eyebrows in probably 10 minutes. She made conversation with me to ease the pain a bit & I loved how interested/attentive she was to not only my interests, but how I was doing in terms of pain with the threading. The pain was a little worse then typical according to Purvi since I did grow my brows out but as someone who usually get my eyebrows waxed the pain was nothing in comparison. She shaped them & trimmed them to literal perfection. I've never seen my eyebrows look so good. Which is why I had to write a rave review. The swelling was down in probably 30 minutes & I got so many compliments when I went out later that night. All in all for the price ($12+ a nice tip!) she goes above & beyond. I desperately needed my eyebrows and upper lip done and didn't want to go back to my usually lady due to the unsanitary tools and techniques in addition to having to wait at least 30 minutes to be seen even with an appointment. I decided to Yelp nearby places and came across Purvi's services. She only does threading, which is fine with me. Making an appointment with her was easy, although the hours need to be updated on Yelp. She confirms appointments via text which is nice and easy. The location of the salon is next to a bank and so I parked at their parking lot. Purvi greeted me and asked me how I wanted my eyebrows done. She took her time to do them and showed me how they looked. I pointed out areas that needed to be cleaned up and she worked on them. She's very professional, polite, and efficient at what she does. I've been going to Purvi for eyebrow threading for almost 6 years. She always takes her time, is very diligent and does a fabulous job. Her bubbly personality is great, especially when I come by after a tense day at the office. After going every two weeks for 6 years, I have never been disappointed. I can't wax my eyebrows because I had a capillary break when I tried that and walked around with a permanent red spot between my eyebrows until I paid a dermatologist to remove it. My eyebrows were untended until I tried Purvi, which was based upon Yelp reviews. She is excellent at her trade. Purvi was on time and works swiftly, I was done quickly but not rushed at all It was.my first threading and I'm grateful it was Purvi as she is a good communicator and explained the process well. I have been doing my eyebrows with these random places since before i can even remember. Every single place didn't know what they were doing. Either i would leave with uneven brows or they would mess up and would make them super thin. seriously annoying!
