I've been patronizing this spa for a few years and can't say enough wonderful things. I'm extremely fussy about my eyebrows, but Jagu always goes above and beyond in carefully listening to what I want and shaping my brows beautifully. I stopped in here yesterday on my way home from work because I was LONG overdue for any sort of eyebrow treatment. I used to get threaded all the time, then switched to wax, and recently have been in this in-between place. So, I figured for $5 and the great reviews I saw, I'd give it a shot... and I'm glad I did. I walked in and was taken right away. The service was quick (despite my disgusting overgrowth) and relatively painless. This is an awesome place to go for no-frills threading. I do my whole face for $20 + tip (some places charge $12 just for brows!) and I always feel like they do a thorough job. Depending on if there are people in line, it can take a bit of time, but they have chairs and a tv to watch while you wait. For the price and service, this is the best! read more

You know how people say that a service/product can only have 2 traits between fast, good, or cheap? Somehow Shiva's has all 3. As a broke student wanting to look nice for swimsuit season, I was browsing for cheap Brazilian waxes and Shiva's raised a lot of suspicion for me - 28 five stars on Yelp and 4.7 on Google?? What miracle is this? I called them up and made an appointment. While they take walk-ins, I think that's more for threading and giving them a heads up for waxing lets them call another employee to handle the salon while they wax you. The woman who did my wax had me wait for a minute while she made sure the other employee came in to take care of the 2 walk-ins who wanted eyebrow threading. My experience was wonderful! It was my first Brazilian and she was nice and patient, listening to my concerns and problem areas. I read about some cheap places that double dipped on waxes, reused strips, or would not use gloves so I was worried I'd get something like that for $35. Shiva's doesn't do any of that! I had a lot of hair and she'd carefully go back to make sure everything was stripped with a new paper. As it progressed into more delicate regions, she would ask if I was okay and suggested pausing if needed. All in all, 30 or so minutes later, I was baby smooth! She covered major areas with hard wax and finished up delicate places with sugar wax and some baby powder. I was pleased that overall the experience was not painful at all! I expected much more pain but I appreciate that she gave me a few minutes to collect myself in the room in case my nether regions were too sore. I got up and decided to get my brows done too which she quickly accomodated. It's been a while since I got my brows threaded but I showed her an old picture and explained what I wanted and she did it super quickly and pain-free. $5 brows literally cannot be beat! So for $45 (remember to tip!), I got a pretty darn good deal for a Brazilian and eyebrows. I later went home to do some aftercare like icing the region, which she recommended as it was my first wax. I did notice 1 or 2 tiny survivor hairs and some teeny specks of wax on my inner thigh, which isn't too big of a deal since I easily cleaned it up. I had no redness or bleeding overall and was super happy with the results. I did have one small area of redness (1 sq inch) on my bikini line show up later but it went away after a few hours like she assured me after some icing. I love this place!!! Great prices, always fast, they do a good job too. I always double check in the mirror afterwards(sometimes they miss stray hairs) but they also do a nice touch up and I love the shape! They don't make your eyebrows too thin either. Great for waxing except if doing legs which is only 3/4 of the leg and for the remaining 1/4 you need to pay for a bottom wax even if all you need is only the remaining 1/4 leg to be waxed. I was unaware of this but maybe that's the norm every where!! Eyebrow/ upper lip treading is cheap and quick for routine visits not special occasions. Its inconsistent based on who you get so the quality varies greatly. It's very rushed with no time spent to check if it's actually clean or few hairs were missed. I always end up cleaning up at home and plucking missed hairs ! read more

I used to love coming here but now they have another lady working here and she's done my brows the last 2 times I came in and she really needs to practice more before working on more people. She's made my brows much thinner than they were before and both times I've left with a random patch or 2 in my brows. I have trouble growing out my hair and the fact that my brows are now thinner because she didn't know what she was doing is just upsetting. Been coming here for getting my eyebrows done because I was tired of plucking them for the past few months. For $5 you can't beat the price as other places charge $25 but also know it's $5 so you pay for what you get. I've walked out last visit with brows, chin, upper lip, and under arms for $25 and the lady did a nice job. I can't say it's painless because the fact of ripping something from the root is going to hurt but the ladies are helpful and give you warning and will also hand you a tissue when tears roll down your face. read more

Very misleading. When I walked in there's a sign that says no cards below $10. I told them I would go get cash. They said it's fine that I could use a card. As I go to pay they told me I had to buy a gift certificate which they did not mention at all. I just would've gotten cash. Very poor service and communication. read more

This place is a hidden gem for sure! tl;dr: I have been shopping around for a Brazilian wax place and felt resigned to the fact that I would have to choose between good service at a high price or face not-so-good results for cheap. Happy to report I finally found a place that does a great Brazilian wax - in a clean environment - at an affordable rate. Went back a week later for a full face threading because the price was so cheap and I was happy with the results of my Brazilian! I've been to four different spas in the area over the past year looking for a good fit. My first priority is always cleanliness, so I'm careful to read reviews on Yelp before going somewhere new. I'm also hyper-sensitive to how a waxing room is set up upon my arrival - never want to take any risks in such a sensitive area. First check is the table - Shiva's has the standard waxing table covered in disposable paper to ensure a clean environment. Second check is to see what the wax pot looks like - Shivas uses hard wax removed with cloth strips. The wax was warmed and appeared clear - she does not double dip. Brazilians are never comfortable, but I was in and out in under 30 minutes without feeling the appointment was rushed. Had some slight sensitivity after the appointment, but nothing unusual. Further, I was not approached with the typical waxing "add-ons", but when I asked for something extra I was informed of the additional cost *before* the service was done. I cannot tell you how much I value knowing ahead of time if there are extra fees, instead of finding out when I go to pay and its too late. I was so impressed with the appointment that I went back a week later to have my whole face threaded - something I've wanted to try for awhile but could never justify based on cost. I will definitely be telling all my friends and returning soon myself! read more
