My first time visit was great! Making an appointment is so easy as you can request via their website, and even complete your paperwork on there. Parking is relatively easy, and checking in was a breeze. All my paperwork was already submitted via online so the assistant/technician reviewed some of it with me and did my pictures, then I was seen by Dr. Alyssa Pack right away! She was so kind, sweet, and very attentive to my concerns of my dry eye. She provided me a list of eye treatments, and recommend me a different brand of contact lenses to help with my astigmatism/dry eye. Checking out was extremely easy as David already had my vision insurance costs organized and got my contact lens order inputted. The whole staff is very organized, efficient, and welcoming. Very professional. There area many choices when it comes to pricing. You can chose a lower cost package to meet specific needs all the way up to packages that includes multiple options. I like the fact that I could have pricing to meet my budget. I bought my current frames from a different eye glass store in La Jolla a few years ago and recently took the same frames back in again to have new RX. But she (at my original store of purchase) wouldn't fill it without charging me again for the frames. This seemed like I was being gouged for something I already paid her for. EyeCare had no problem using my current frames (which I love and didn't want to replace) and just charging me for filing the prescription at a VERY reasonable price. He was easily willing to fulfill my specific requests letting me know the advantages and disadvantages of my choice vs the alternate options. Some places try to sell or push products on you but this place doesn't. If you need help finding parking like myself, I just parked on Eades near the CVS and walked the half block, much easier than on Pearl or Draper where it can be a bit more difficult to find parking. read more

I have been under the care of a specialist in ophthalmology for most of those years. Never and I mean never had I experienced such a wonderful, detailed, pain-free analysis of the condition of my eyes. The assistant who helped me before seeing Dr. Nguyen was indeed an optometrist herself, simply awaiting approval from the state of California. This level of care with an extraordinary level of humility is unparalleled in the healthcare world. After all their work, Dr. Nguyen said that I do not require new glasses now. Such unabashed honesty is noteworthy. Nevertheless, I wanted sunglasses and worked with the staff to get the best pair of transition sunglasses for me.
