Looks like a nice place but their reliability is pretty terrible. The service isn't bad in terms of friendliness or rudeness they just run things very slow. I had a 1030am appointment and was seen an hour late. I saw the doctor roll in way after 1030. Then they ordered me something that was supposed to arrive 2-3 days later. I called on the third day they said they would have it today and will call me once it's in. No call so I called back and they said on no it'll arrive tomorrow or the following day. Then they had to confirm some things with the doctor and give me a call back but they literally said "the doctor is all booked today so I might not be able to call you back today." What kind of service is this. Especially they knew I had a tight timeline on receiving these products. I do not recommend this place if you need somewhere reliable. Update - they charged me $100 for astigmatism contacts. I thought I paid for getting contacts. Apparently they charged me this much only for the fitting. If I want contacts through them I have to pay another $100. At time of payment I was told I'm paying for contacts. Prior to payment I asked for the contacts pricing and they told me. I got a prescription here along with a pair of glasses an year ago and I paid for both. I called again to get my prescription forwarded so I can order a new pair of glasses with a different store. After five tries each time speaking to a different person I still don't have the prescription forwarded. I got all kinds of excuses that my prescription was expired since it was 2 years ago, that I had contact prescriptions that are expired after one year; none of which is actually true. I got them one year ago for glasses not contacts. Very incompetent staff. I do not recommend this place for any service. read more

Eye doctor was very abrasive and trying to sell my 16 year old son on daily wear contacts which are much more expensive than other disposable lenses. I rolled my eyes when she said the daily contacts would be the "healthiest" choice and she challenged me telling me I could leave now and she would refund my money.... The customer service in front was just "ok" but the day I went, the eye doctor was combative and must have been having a bad day and took it out on me. I'll never go back and I'm sorry I wasted my money on this place. read more

This place has horrible service. I was a new patient and my first time there on a Saturday and the receptionist wasn't prepared with my insurance information. She called me Friday to confirm my insurance and I gave her all the information. When I arrived Saturday morning she was printing benefits but than said she's not able to call my insurance to verify if they would cover my exam as a preventative care since the insurance is closed on Saturday. I will not be going back. I'm truly disappointed in the service I only imagine how the rest of the business is. The receptionist is a reflection of the business. She told me I could pay out of pocket for my eye exam since she couldn't verify if my insurance would cover the exam. I responded with "what I spoke to you yesterday do you not see my job title" I'm a medical biller and coder I know extremely how insurances work. So she proceeds and says for me to use my 2ndary eye plan but it wouldn't include my eye exam. Than tried to reschedule my appointment and say she would work with me to fit me into the schedule not knowing that I had to pay for a babysitter for to attend this appointment. If you'd like the feeling of being frustrated and being over charged, this is definitely the right place to go to! It's amazing that I was about to face the same problem of being over-charged yet once again. But the last time, David was there to get things right and fix the errors that the front desk had done. This time David was not there, to save the day, for their incompetence. I explained to the front desk rep named Ellie, that the previous time, they had not shown something in their system and over charged me. I asked her to double check the fees that she was trying to charge me to have the eye exam for contacts. She checked again and advised once again the same fees. I politely asked, if she could reach out to my insurance company, just to make sure that I was being quoted the correct fees, because I felt that the fees were incorrect. And I explained, yet once again, that the same thing had happened the previous time I was there and they ended up over-charging me. She replied that she was just too busy to call the insurance company, that the fees were there in her system showing what I had to pay. That I could pay and submit it to my insurance company to then follow up with them or that I can call them and follow up with them myself. ( Mind you, this is HER job!! ). To avoid from being disrespectful and doing the back-and-forth thing, I asked her for the phone number to reach and I ended up calling the insurance company. After speaking with the rep from the insurance company, she then asks to speak to the rep from my cell phone. To then, yet again, be informed that I was 'NOT' to be charged the fees in which she was trying to charge me. No apology or anything, she just replied: "The information isn't listed properly in their system." As if I really cared what it showed. Her JOB was to pick up the phone and verify! Especially if she was being informed that there was an issue the previous time with the billing. It just goes to show how a simple apology or being humble can go a long way, but I received neither. Listen, I know we all have bad days. Or sometimes we have to take an extra step. But especially now in days, when businesses are going out of business, I would've just expected a little more help with something that is their job to do. I've heard from others which I also know, that this office tries to charge extra fees and then have the clients do all the leg work, to avoid from having to reimburse the funds. Sad way to conduct business!!! Consider yourself forewarned! Sad to say that David ( which is great at his job ) is the only one, FROM MY EXPERIENCES THERE, that actually helps and takes the extra step. I have been going to Eyecare on Easton for several years and have loved the place until now. I scheduled an appointment a month ago and was informed 3 days before my appointment that I needed a referral from my PCP. I pay more for insurance so that a referral is not needed. This office is requiring me to jump through hoops to get a referral that my insurance does not require. They even confirmed that my insurance has always paid with no problems in the past. My friend who works in the medical field reported them to the Better Business Bureau. These people are not doctors, they are thugs. The way they treat customers is disgraceful. Dr. Vayner became threatening after I had to return a couple of times when my contact lens prescription wasn't right as well as my spectacles. Instead of fixing their mistake, they became accusatory and hostile. It was quite shocking and the worst experience I've ever had of all my years going to optometrists. Rather than being professional and apologetic, they were unhelpful and nasty. This type of treatment was far more than unprofessionalism, it was flat out incompetence. The prescription for my left eye is still wrong and I have been seeing blurry for weeks after paying for a service that was not fulfilled. I would rather pay out of pocket than deal with doctors who have no sense of responsibility and have no common decency. The way they respond to reviews also reflects their complete lack of professionalism and their defensiveness. These doctors don't care and will not stop treating customers this way. This will catch up to them one day and they have been slowly building their own reputation. Awful, stay away. read more

I tried this place since my mother-in-law had a credit that I figured I would be able to use for contact lenses. I provided my insurance information with the understanding insurance would be billed. I then learned that they were refusing to honor the credit since it was related to a purchase of eyeglass frames, while I would be purchasing contact lenses. The eye exam was fine, the doctor seemed knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. As I was about to order lenses, I was quoted a ridiculously high price. Having shopped for them before, I spotted the rip-off attempt immediately and asked them to check 1-800-CONTACTS. All of a sudden, the price is cut in half. So I ordered them. When I went to pick them up, I was told insurance had not been billed, with no real explanation given as to why not. When I asked them to bill my insurance that I originally provided, they claimed the price would be different, and that there were no refunds. However, they could offer me a store credit. I patiently tried to explain that the whole purpose of the insurance was so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. There would be no expenses for me to use the credit against, particularly after the debacle of this first experience which should have been simple. If you have vision insurance, I would steer clear of this place. If you don't have vision insurance, just know the expected price going in because they will try to rip you off. read more

I came there and sat for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. I ask to use the bathroom, the receptionist pointed the way, as I approached the restroom, I was told it was out of order, I said the receptionist didn't tell me that, the other girl said " let me check " as if I was lying. I called ahead to time to make sure they took my insurance and were in network, they said yes after the exam the sales girl told me my insurance only came with a discount and it only paid for the exam and that I had to pay $180 for the glasses. I called my insurance the next day my insurance said the exam was free, and I have a 200.00 allowance for the glasses. I called back and I've been getting the run around to this day. Scam artist who don't want to wait for the insurance to pay, so they lie to get the cash. I'm working with my bank to get my money back. read more

At first we were satisfied with them as we had to move over from our longtime Doctors at Princeton Eyecare due to changes in insurance. Called today to get 2 days of sample contact lenses for our child as we waited for new contacts to arrive. We were told that since we didn't buy the contacts from them, they would not give us samples. Even though we have purchased 4 sets of eyeglasses in the past year plus an entire family of eye exams. Then spoke to the manager (David) and he then claimed all of the contact samples were ruined in the flood and proceeded to say that they don't have many in stock. This place has gone downhill since Dr. Bauer retired. This place now has a big chain store atmosphere, except that it isn't. I've had better experience with Dr. Bauer and other nationwide chains. This place charges you price of big nationwide chains without any benefits (you don't even get the terrible big chain treatment...forget getting that mom and pop experience). When you go to purchase eyeglasses, they try to exaggerate the features. But when you have issues with the product afterwards, good-luck getting any kind of resolution. They just raise their hands up and say "you're on your own". Then they try to sell you another replacement for discounted pricing that isn't even cheap. I would not visit this place as they are deceiving. This place is just terrible. I have no experience with the Doctor there. My review is only for the shop in the front. We used to see Dr Geri Bauer and we liked the store too. So, we went for our annual check up and bought glasses. Bang! They charged us double the price even after insurance. When we confronted, they totally ignored us saying even the company of the eye glass manufacturer's website is wrong! Really? Then they instantly realized and gave us 2 free frames which are total crap. In a way, we got looted. We are never gourmet back to this store. We lost money despite of having insurance. read more

My experience was great. I had a thorough eye exam and did not feel rushed. Dr. Vayner was excellent! She made me feel like a valued client by listening to my situation (I was looking for a new prescription and new lenses, possibly new glasses after not being happy with my previous eye doctor). She discussed a few different options with me and really made sure i understood the difference. She even discussed options based on price, which made me feel like they didn't just care about their bottom line, they care about the clients. She gave me a few samples to try. My experience here was so bad it was almost surreal. All I needed was a new pair of glasses and some contacts. With every other eye doctor I've seen, this has been a piece of cake. But at EyeCare on Easton, the doctor and staff members acted like this was highly unexpected and difficult to accommodate. The eye exam started with the standard battery of tests using giant and expensive machines. Then I saw the eye doctor, who performed more tests and did the eye exam. At the end, I asked her for my prescription. She stared at me blankly and told me I'd need to see an optician for that. In the meantime, she gave me a long series of complicated instructions about how to clean and care for contacts. I've worn contacts for years. Taking care of them isn't that hard. When I stressed that I wanted contacts, she wouldn't let me order them. Instead, she ordered several sets of samples. I had to wait a couple weeks for them to come in, and then I was instructed to try each pair for a week and see which was best. In the meantime, I got a pair of glasses. Even with my insurance, they came to over $500, even though they weren't a designer pair or anything particularly special. But the staff told me that, since I'd ordered glasses there I'd get a significant discount on the contacts. Fast-forward to when I called to order contacts. The staff members I spoke to seemed confused that I wanted to order them. I had to ask them repeatedly to check my insurance and reminded them of the discount I was promised. Even after these were factored in, contacts cost me over $300. I asked if I could get the same prescription in a cheaper brand. I was told I'd have to come in for another appointment if I wanted to switch brands. WTF?! I said that surely the prescription couldn't be that different, but the staff member insisted it could. If that was the case, why couldn't the doctor have evaluated that in the first place? In the end, I was out over $800, and the glasses and contacts I ended up with were nothing special. Last time I went to Sears, and got far better products for much less hassle. read more

I have only great things to say about this place. Last time I got new glasses and sunglasses was about 4 years ago with Dr Bauer. I lost my glasses so I called in on a Friday to see if they could see me that afternoon and they gave me the last appt on Friday. I was there for 2 hrs total and walked out with my new glasses. They offered to do the sunglasses as well but I told them there was no rush. I had an idea of what I wanted but one can get overwhelmed when trying to choose frames since there's so much to choose from. I described to Javier what I was looking for and he brought me excellent options. He was super knowledgeable on what they had in stock on the styles I wanted. I am writing this email pertaining to this establishment. I highly recommend you do not use this eye center for defaming my daughter La'Nai and I as to not being able to come back to this center. It is highly noted that we as customers who have been coming to this location for many years including Dr. Bauer's ownership to be treated the way I have been against me and family. Dr. Vayner is the new doctor in charge of this establishment! This center not only called the cops on my family member because they were "SCARED FOR THEIR LIVES" (2 females) due to my family member wanting to purchase if needed a pair of contacts because she was going out of town, was totally inappropriate from this location. We had just gone there for our yearly eye checkup. To have me to bring in cop's to pick up my paperwork because they would have treated me the same as my family was very disheartening. On top of this they charged me to $30.00 for my paperwork was unacceptable! The crazy part about this incident they wrote in their paperwork disparaging words about my daughter La'Nai who is in Virginia in college as we speak. It is said in their paperwork that she is not welcomed into their facility! FYI there was no alleged people of color at this location at that time and the gentleman that was their left the site per my family member before the altercation came down with the contacts. I am not saying this can be part of the issue, but I am providing what I have seen with these actions towards me in my life of living but cannot accept this center to disrespect my daughter and exclude her from ever coming back to this location as a valued customer since she never and I was a part of this incident that happen. read more
