About 3 months after receiving and paying for our glasses we received a random bill for almost $200. I went back to the store, but the staff there are unable to assist at all, as ECC has centralized their billing - the best she could do was give me a call center phone number, which is in New York. Apparently ECC billed my insurance for *different* lenses than I received, got a slightly larger insurance pay out, and then a computer glitch somehow added the amount they already got paid in insurance to the difference in cost between the 2 lenses, and keep sending me a bill for that amount. They send me constant texts saying I owe them money (2-3 per week), and every time I call I get routed to someone with an Indian accent that says they 'will escalate' the issue for resolution. It's been months. It's really a shame, because we liked the staff and location, but I would NEVER risk going there again based on these shady billing and insurance practices.

She did not have the competence or patience to be a manager imo. After leaving messages to her 4 times over a week, I finally got to talk to her after a 5th call.. She said they weren't running a free clinic. I never ever said they were. If she knew how to file medicare for me (I have diabetes), she would have known that medicare covers the full amount of my eye exam ($215) because of my diabetes. Instead she filed with medicare and no diabetes so of course medicare charged a copay and deductible. So instead of getting my $215 back, i will receive $54 (who knows when), and I assume they pocket the rest. I am elderly and on a fixed income and really needed the money. To my knowledge, they didn't do a diabetic eye exam, where they should have specifically focused on the health of my retinas and integrity of the blood vessels in my eyes.
