Do not go here! There's always a problem when I go here. I came here to get contacts from Dr. Gittins and the experience was horrible. It took over 2 months to actually get contacts that I can bring home and wear because every time I went to pick them up, they prescription was completely wrong. I ended up going back to be disappointed by the contacts around 6 times. The doctor let me take them home to wear around the 6th time that I went back, and they were still wrong. They told me to wear them for the 2 week adjustment period, and then I would be able to see 20/25 in them. After two weeks, I could still see better in my glasses than my contacts. I have pretty strong astigmatism, so I can never see very good in glasses already because they can't make glasses in my prescription, so that's saying something about those contacts that were supposed to make me see "20/25". I had these hard contact lenses before from a different doctor, and I was able to see 20/20 perfectly for the first time, and it only took a week for me to receive my lenses, vs. 2 months at this practice. I hounded them for a refund for a month or so and just now got it. The team does not communicate well with you at all. The staff is nice, but one of them will tell you one thing and the other will tell you something else. For instance, I was told my exam would cost $80 when I booked the appointment, but once I was done with the exam, they charged me almost $200 just for the exam. I also didn't even get a refund for the exam even though I expressed how deeply disappointed I am I'm their service. I literally got nothing out of it and just lost money. I am also a broke college student and was pressured by multiple staff members to get scleral contact lenses which I made very clear before that I could not afford those. read more

I saw John Coen in the Rocklin office because he supposedly got my husband "dialed in" with his new glasses. I came into the office for one of their "evening appointments" and Dr. Coen asked "What are you doing out this late?" Mind you, it was like 6pm. Uh, I just got off work and commuted from the U.C. Davis campus in downtown Sac. Dr. Coen seemed perturbed that he had to perform a late/evening appointment. Then, I specifically told him that I wanted occupational glasses for the computer and near-sighted glasses for driving. He kept pressuring me to get progressives, all while continuing to play with his own (new?) progressive glasses...almost like he was testing them or checking them out during my appointment. Strange. I was handed off to a tall guy with sandy blond or reddish hair. I can't really remember. Anyway, I think his name was Matt. Well, since it was already late, he wanted to just write up my order (for progressives?!) in a hurry and get me out of there. I disputed the progressives but he wouldn't give me any options/prices for different types of lenses; whereby, clearly I had options with my DUAL coverage, and the fact that my husband had several options for his glasses. Matt(?) was in a rush to leave and kept looking at his watch while writing up my order. I was so annoyed with the whole experience that I called the next day to cancel my order for both pairs of glasses (and hopefully, that guy's commission). I ended up ordering with Zenni and used my FSA account. Aside from all of this, we had major issues with my daughter's contacts as well. Someone ended up sending the wrong Rx to the lab and we had to wait an additional 3 weeks for her special order contacts. I was told to have my daughter "baby" her last disposable until the order came in. Good thing she didn't get an eye infection. The funniest part about all of this, is that I heard numerous complaints in that waiting area while trying to sort out what happened with my daughter's contacts. A place with that many issues/complaints, especially witnessed by other potential patients, is terrible for business. read more

They offer updated technology in all aspects of your exam and Dr Brenda Coen is very professional, friendly and engaged in giving you the best eye care. There is a large variety of eye glasses to chose from. You'll find the selection to be high end and on trend with options to stay in your budget. The atmosphere is really nice with a beverage area and comfortable seating. I highly recommend Rocklin Eye Center. I've been going to Dr Brenda Coen for over 10 years. I've been coming to this center for years and have seen the customer service unfortunately decline. All the optometrists are phenomenal and if it wasn't for them I would have stopped coming here a few years ago. This past month I asked for some trials after my exam. I had left and realized they gave me 2 for the same eye. (My fault for not checking while I was there) so I went back and she gave me some for the other eye. I decided to order contacts and they were suppose to be delivered to my house by Wednesday and I ordered on the Thursday before. I waited until the following Friday to call and ask if they could track my order because I never received it and the gal said the order was still processing even after a week and that someone would call me back after they look into it. No one ever did. I then waited until the next Tuesday to physically come in and see what was going on and a very nice gentleman came to the front with the contacts and apologized. He didn't know why I was never notified that they came in despite the fact that they were supposed to be sent to my house. Now I'm trying to do the rebate on the contacts and it says I need a special code from the office so I called again and the gal up front can't just give me it, one of the opticians has to email it to me when they get a chance and she said it probably wouldn't be today since they closed at 5 and it was 3:50. I wonder if I'll ever get my rebate at this point. Although there's 40 percent off of glasses after your insurance covers contacts it makes me not want to buy my glasses from there with their lack of proper customer service. My wife and I are in the middle of a very disappointing experience with Eyecenter. We purchased two pairs of frames with prescription lenses (one was sunglass) for my wife about a month ago before we moved to Florida. They had to ship both pairs to us, which was fine, since we were leaving within a few days of ordering them. My wife tried on the sunglasses in the store and liked them, so we got those as well. Here's where the bad part begins. We receive the glasses in the mail and find out that the sunglass frames won't fit my wife's face and keep falling off. We've had them professionally adjusted and they still won't fit correctly. We contacted the company regarding this issue, and they offered a lame 50% discount on the frames for return. Keep in mind, this is not our fault that the frames won't fit. Their pathetic explanation is that they had already "bought" the glasses, so we're assuming this is about the company saving money instead of taking their customers into consideration. Be very careful when doing business with this office. We are very disappointed by this experience, as we'd had a great relationship with Eyecenter before this. Tim read more

Been seeing Dr. Gittins for over seventeen years, and he has always been professional, cordial, very explanative, and able to obtain exactly what I needed as far a a prescription was concerned. He is willing to find the best solution to my eye care needs. He works with you. Staff may be inconsistent, but that is with any business that may have a turnover of personnel. I recently made an appointment with the Rocklin facility despite the bad reviews on Yelp because the doctor, Dr. Randy Fuerst, came highly recommended for Air Optix contact lens fitting. Thank God I did!! While I had some minor problems making the appointment online (nobody called me back so I called the office to make the appointment and got the day and time I wanted) the office staff and doctor were excellent!! I have never gone to an eye doctor who examined me as thoroughly as Dr. Fuerst did. I came on time and was seen on time - no waiting!! All of their instruments are state-of-the-art and it's the best prescription yet for bifocal contact lenses that I've received since I've been going to an eye doctor for over 10 years. Dr. Fuerst is quite simply a first class doctor! . I highly recommend this facility!! read more

I highly recommend this practice! My appointment was with Dr. Fuerst and he and the staff were phenomenal. He took the time to explain aspects of my eye care (and I've had many many eye appointments over the years) so that I understood every aspect of my eyesight issues. The optician that helped me was great in ensuring that the frames I picked out suited me and she gave me her honest feedback. Never did I feel rushed. With being new to the area, it's always a relief to find a practice that I can trust for my eye health. I really like the doctors here and when I moved to the Roseville area was very excited to see a Eye Center by my new house. I was going to the Greenback location and Gold River locations for over 10 years. The doctors are great but the staff...not so much. I ordered contacts and they forgot to put the order in and of course charged me for them the day of my visit. It took almost two months to get my contacts in and and I had to get some ordered and express shipped so I had some on hand. I called the answering service because I couldn't get a hold of anyone at the office. They said they would take a message and have the office manager call me. She did and she apologized for the mistake and said they would reimburse me some portion of the cost of my contacts. She said she would take care of everything for me when I picked of my contacts. I went to pick up my contacts and guess what??? No note! Nothing! I asked the staff and they said that they didn't know anything about it. Today I looked them up to cancel my appointment and saw another review with a similar issue. I love the doctors but I think it's time to find another Optometrist office. read more

I wasn't feeling well today but got out of bed to make an appointment that was scheduled a year ago. when I got there, they told me my appointment had been canceled since I didn't confirm my appointment! what? how ridiculous is that. I knew I had an appointment...they left me a confirming message. I am not a flake....I show up for my appointments. I am done with this place. And last time the doctor made me get progressive lenses that have made my eyes worse than ever....and way too dependent on my glasses that should be just for reading and computer work. read more

I came up to Sacramento to visit a friend and unfortunately dropped a contact down the bathroom drain while trying to put them on one morning. I have a rather strong prescription and so it was not easy trying to find an optometrist with spares on hand. When I came here the receptionist and the optometrist were very helpful and friendly and thankfully, gave me a sample that fit my prescription without a charge. The equipment is state of the art. I never feel rushed. The staff assisting with glasses and fittings is top notch and I trust their expert feedback. The location used to be convenient but I have moved to Sacramento now. Lets see where do I start? My first appointment was for me and my husband. When we arrived it took them almost an hour to see us. When they took us back they began to do the basic exams and then dialated our eyes. I was very concerned that they dialated my eyes because I could not see at all. I asked the doctor if it was going to be a problem getting my prescription right and he assured me that it would be fine. After 3 hours of being there on our first visit we finally went home. But this is not even bad as to what happened next. I was very excited when the call came in that my glasses were ready. I went to pick them up and when I got there they forgot to add the protective non-glare coating. So they had to ship my glasses back out. My husband's were still not in. A week later I got a call that my glasses were in again so my husband went down to pick them up. They made him wait in the lobby for 45 minutes just to get my glasses. He kept telling the receptionist that he was just picking them up for his wife and she would just nod. Then an assistant came up front and called out Amy, my husband just looked in disbielf that the receptionist did not tell the assistant that he was not getting fitted for the glasses just picking them up. Ok, I have my glasses now but they are the WRONG prescription! Do not let them dialate your eyes before they do your exam. I took my glasses back again and let the receptionist know, she was very rude when I explained that I could not take the glasses because I could not see out of them. She told me to come back, that I could just walk in and someone would see me on Saturday. So I came back that Saturday and no one was available to meet with me. Now, they told me that I needed an appointment. Because of my work schedule they booked me at the Citrus Heights office on a Wednesday since that is my late day at work. I called on Tuesday to the Citrus Heights office to confirm my appointment but they had me scheduled on Friday at 8:40am, but the problem there is I work at 8:00am on Fridays! At this point I am very upset and cannot believe the service that I am receiving. I finally reached out to a manager. Keep in mind my husband's glasses still have not come! So the manager schedules me to come in and see a different doctor, who by the way was fantastic. He was very suprised that they dialated my eyes before looking at them and after my appointment with him he found that my prescription was off by a lot and now new glasses are on their way. They said that they are going to rush them but it's been almost a week and nothing yet. I'm not going to hold my breath. I will NEVER visit this office or the company again. They should be ashamed with the service and communication of this establishment! For the record my husband's glasses came 4 weeks after he saw the doctor! And it's been over a month for me since I first step foot into the Rocklin Eye Center Optometric. Still no glasses. read more

We love Dr. Cohen, he's great. There is a revolving front counter staff, and they are usually terrible. The techs who fit your glasses are nice. We have been fine with glasses purchases, but we WILL NOT buy contacts there. They screw it up EVERY SINGLE TIME. They don't get ordered, never come in, nobody calls you if they finally DO come in, it's a nightmare. We order contacts from 1 800 contacts. read more

I didn't rate this a 5-star because the tinting on one of my lenses was uneven. The eye dr I saw was awesome and the girl who helped me pick out my glasses was sweet and didn't push anything on me and made me feel good about my decisions on my frames. The lady who started my apt was really sweet as well and explained everything she was doing!! The dr also asked me who I have seen before which I didn't care for and I explained why and he was beyond professional not talking bad about a fellow dr but said he has heard about what I was saying! Thank you! The only reason there isn't a 5 was because the front staff really wasn't that friendly. I got greeted with are you here for an apt? Hey I work in customer service and I don't ever start with that I always saw hello how can I help you! Then they just talked about getting coffee and blah blah.. Really ladies when you want good customer service you have reason to just start a conversation doesn't need to lead into a discussion but make someone feel good about walking into a new place! It was a shock about my bill also u was told 20 bucks and nothing else was told to me. When i got the bill I has to ask why and what I was bein charged for. I knew my glasses were over my insurance limit however other charges were added I wasn't aware of.
