I had purchased a pair of glasses online, and while I love the frame, it didn't quite sit right on my face. I knew it could be adjusted and I had been meaning to take it in to an optical shop to get that done. I found this place on Yelp and decided to try them out, most especially since they're a small, local business and that appeals to me. I couldn't have been more pleased with my decision. First, let me say that I have worn glasses since I was 7 and that was a very long time ago. I have been going to a big box store for my glasses because that was all that was available to me in Silverdale. I love having a frame with an eyeglass clip and the selection available to me at aforementioned stores was limited to one or two boring, unisex options. So, I did my research and opted to venture forth to the other side of the Puget Sound hoping to expand my choices. The first place I went in Seattle, was awful. The person I saw tried to sell me the most expensive frames she had, and attempted to convince me that I couldn't use my EyeMed at her establishment because it wasn't in my local area! After all of that I walked out in disgust. By the time I arrived at Eyedentity I was just about convinced I wasn't going to find anything I went to the Seattle Area to find. The great frame with a sunglass clip or decent people who cared about helping me. From the moment I walked into Eyedentity, I knew I was in the right place. When I told Mayaan what had happened at the first place, she was appalled and was very empathetic. She was friendly and got right to work helping me select a frame. When I mentioned how much I loved frames with a sunglass clip, she showed me TWO rotating displays with awesome choices. I need lots of help when selecting a frame because my vision is really bad, so I can't see myself when I take off my own glasses. Mayaan helped me find the right frame and she and Robyn worked together to get my measurements for my progressive lens just right. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and these glasses are by far the BEST glasses I have ever had in my life. The lens are far superior to any offered at the big box stores. No, I didn't get them in an hour, but you know what? I was willing to wait the two weeks to get great glasses that I love. I also paid less out of pocket for these glasses than for my last 3 pair! I will be driving back to Eyedentity this Friday because my husband needs new glasses and I told him it was worth the drive to Kirkland (1.5 hours) to get the quality of frames and lens that they offer at Eyedentity. Personally, I liked Kerry Atkins. Nice guy, mad scientist, but not a bad scientist. Knows his stuff. Terrible necktie. It could come off as scattered. Once we got the exam done, the help finding frames was really good. I have gone to four or five of the shops in the Seattle area, and it was comparable. Many of the other shops were overly opinionated about what frames looked good on me, which is shown by a lack of asking what style I like, etc. One tried to fit me with the stereotypical Seattle-ite frames (dark, thick, plastic, squared), and that is far from my personal style. Eyedentity's staff was great, they valued my thoughts on what frames looked good, and made suggestions on what frames would look good WITHIN that style, and not repeatedly outside of it. read more

Dr Kerry is awesome- he's very methodical and through. He explains the whole process of eye-testing and answers any questions we may have. He's not looking to ensure that my prescription changes from year to year. HIs equipment is top notch and he takes the time to use them well! :) Customer service is pretty good too. Although they do take a while to get the eyeglasses back to us (2 weeks), they are off good quality and will do what it takes to ensure we are satisfied. Robyn is great! I've gone to Eyedenity for almost four years now. Dr. Kerry is very thorough and considerate, and the optometrist does a great job fitting glasses. I am extremely myopic plus astigmatic, which complicates everything, and they've done a great job with everything from finding me suitable contact lenses to getting me durable-but-light glasses. It is an informal and small operation, and yes, sometimes you have to call them. But the integrity of the eye care is excellent--it's the only place where I've heard an eye-care professional talk someone OUT of laser surgery! read more

It is by far the nastiest I've ever seen, it smelled, had mold, the carpet in the optometrist office was disgusting, you can see water leak marks in the ceiling, dirty dated furniture and ancient equipment. If I can give this place zero , I would!!! Right after Christmas, I called several optical stores in the area and asked the same question: 1. Can I get High Index (1.71 - 1.74) lenses put in my existing new drill mount rimless frame? 2. Can they do they high index with a - 4.0 power ? 3. How much would it cost? Every single place I called, answered yes to both question and quoted a price, including Eyedentity. I decided to go with Eyedentity because they had a 20% sale (should have known better) on lenses and came to their shop. I was greeted by a very nice young lady who confirmed the price and the ability to order high index 1.71 lenses for my frame with my Rx. I placed the order, paid my money (not insurance!) and waited....Two weeks later, I called and asked if my glasses were ready and was told to wait 1 more week. When I came down to pick up my glasses, another lady was helping me and as soon as she brought my glasses, I knew that they were wrong! The glass seemed awfully thick for high index 1.71 and one lens was almost double the thickness of the other. The lady who was giving me the glasses didn't even notice the issue and I had to convince her that a mistake was made. I pointed out that one of the lenses is twice as thick (I have -4.0 in both eyes but one eye has 0.5 astigmatism which is minute really) and even the glass that was put it was NOT the high index I paid for! She even pulled out a chart they have for thickness of 1.71 and my -4.0 was thicker then her -6.0 high index 1.71 template. The woman did not argue and wrote down (I saw her write it) what I told to her was wrong - i.e the glass was not 1.71 and the power/astigmatism was incorrect; she told me they would send the pair back to the lab and fix it. I kindly asked her to make sure to check the pair again when it comes from the lab so that I don't have to waist my time again if the pair is not properly done....she assured me that they would check them carefully. Two weeks later, I get a call from a male associate telling me my pair is ready, I asked him if they fixed the issue of doubly thick lens and he said yes, I asked him if the glass is 1.71 - he said he would check and call back. Few minutes later, he called back and said to me that the glass is 1.67 and not 1.71 When I asked why they placed a 1.67 glass when I ordered 1.71 and paid for 1.71 ( more $$), he connected me to the manager Robin ( if I am not mistaken, that's her name). The manager proceeded to tell me that they can't put in 1.71 because it would be too thin and unsafe, I told her I was aware of that and was fine with the risk and still wanted what they sold me and what I paid for - which is 1.71. High index. Robin tried to tell me that the difference is minute 0.2 millimeters (verbatim) and I should look at them and I would see that they are very light and thin. I told her that's not the point and if I wanted 1.67, I wouldn't have paid for 1.71 and if they can't provide me with 1.71, why the heck did they tell me they can and take my money for 1.71. The manager told me she would refund me the 70$ difference between the lenses I paid for and the lenses I got, or refund me the whole thing and give me my glasses back if I don't like the 1.67 glass. I decided to see the glasses they made and drove there right after work this past Friday (I told Robin I would come right after 2 pm) and found out the office to be in active preparation for a remodel. No clients but staff inside, Robin seemed irritated that I came and mumbled something like "I though you said you would come at 1...we are closed now" but let me inside the shop and showed me the glasses. Again, 1 lens was thicker then the other but both were "thinned out". I showed Robin my current pair and asked her why one lens is thicker in the new glasses if my Rx is the same and she pointed to my actual glasses and said that one lens is thicker...except it was the other lens and not he same eye as the noticeably thicker lens in the new pair. I asked for a refund and Robin said: " let me ask the lab again if they would put a 1.71 in for you" ‍ I should have insisted but I agreed and asked her if it would take long to find out as it's been 1.5 months since the order was placed originally and she said - "no, no ...I will call you on Monday". Monday, 5pm, no calls or messages from them and I called another shop (larger well known chain with a great reputation and slightly higher price) and asked if they can put the 1.71 for me and they said "no problem"! I drove down to the shop to find it in the midst of remodel but Robin came out. She was irritated to see me and when I said that I came to pick up my frames and take them to another shop, she told me that it's against FDA rules and went to get them. When she came back, she gave me the glasses and said to me that I will not get a refund until I bring their glass lenses back to them and I need to come back after the remodel. So where should I start?? Ok, so I went to Eyedentity based on the (outdated) review from '06 that I read about this place. My husband and I are new to the area, so I was looking for something nearby, so I thought I'd give them a shot based on what great things the review had to say about them. HUGE MISTAKE! My initial visit didn't seem too awful (though I wasn't impressed) and the follow-up is nothing less than ridiculous because it's non-existent! I wasn't a fan of how utterly disorganized the place was. When I was getting my eye exam, there were packets and swabs and all sorts of stuff just strewn all over the place. He had to dig through the pile to find what he needed. There were stains on the floor. Eww. They didn't have the brand of contacts I was used to wearing, so they gave me a new brand to try, but said they wouldn't place an order until I called to let them know what brand I preferred. Okay, no problem. I gave the new brand a fair shot (wearing them for about a month) and decided I liked the old brand better. It's been at least 2 weeks since I ordered my contacts. I called after just a week because I was told it only takes a few days to get them in. No contacts. I asked that they would call me and let me know when they do come in so I could leave work early to get there before they close. I gave them another week. No call. So I just called them yesterday, and guess what?! NO CONTACTS. Not only are there no contacts, but the girl on the phone said she thought maybe she saw them around somewhere, but would have to look. She said she thought they ordered the new brand. I told her I specifically asked for the brand I used to wear because the new ones weren't working out for me. She cut me off and said she'll have to do some digging around. DIGGING AROUND?! Are you kidding me?! They probably can't find them under all the mess they already have. I just called again today because after she "dug around" she didn't call me to tell me if she found them or not. GUESS WHAT? She blamed it on someone else and said she'd have to check where he is on that. Didn't SHE say SHE would have to do some digging around? And, they even have my prescription and brand of contacts I asked them to order on file from my old optometrist. IT DOESN'T GET ANY EASIER THAN THAT!! I am so freaking frustrated with this place. The bright primary colors on the walls should've clued me in as soon as I walked in the door. They're operating the place like a bunch of preschoolers running around like little maniacs, blaming each other for everything. If I EVER get my contacts, I will NOT be back. EVER. Visited there for the first time and was not impressed at all- indifferent service, boring display, high prices... Finely found a pair that I liked and then found out that it's on sale (50% off) only because I asked if I could get a discount (would have paid twice otherways?). After waiting quite a while to pay (while the cashier was chatting on the phone) I was told that they can't accept credit cards because their system is not working... Had to get out of the store snd find an ATM for cash just to complete the purchase. I thought for a while whether to write this review but I want to share my terrible experience at Eyedentity. When I arrived I was introduced to a musky Dr. Kerry and asked to walk into an untidy, dusty office, We did the eye exam and ordered my glasses. He actually made several insulting remarks and was bossing me around - it was like the twilight zone. Then I waited two weeks and when the glasses came I wore them for a few days but noticed I could not see well. I saw better with my OLD glasses. I went back and they were less than pleased that I was returning the glasses. They asked me to make another appointment. After a few days I met with a not so happy Dr. Kerry for another eye exam. I waited two weeks again and GUESS what? The glasses didn't fit my new frames!!!! So I waited again another two more weeks until I got the third pair of glasses. The staff and doctor didn't seems to care. They only said," I'M SORRY" but never gave me any update or information while I was waiting and waiting for weeks for my glasses. All in all a terrible experience. I would never go back again to that place again. read more

After 15 phone calls, 3 visits, and almost 12 weeks later (3 months), I got a pair of glasses. What a complete farce as an business and an office environment that is out of control. They lost my frames, lost my lenses, cracked new lenses, and all thru it would never keep me in sync with what was happening. After 3 months they didn't offer any desire to discount or lower the cost which I paid on day 1. Do not go here if you need glasses. Instantly their fun design of the office and the outgoing fun and friendly staff made me feel very comfortable right away. The doctor not only did a very thorough exam but explained what was going on every step of the way. My daughter has a very rare condition which renders most with this condition blind by age 4. After many frustrating and fruitless appointments with childrens hospital we brought our daughter to Dr. Atkins. She is now 14 and although she doesn't have much vision left, she can still see. She is a fantastic artist thanks to the efforts of Dr. Atkins and Robin. They have been tireless in their efforts to help my daughter and there is hope thanks to the Dr's efforts that she may regain her eyesight. made an appointment here because it was one of the few places that took my insurance and had pretty good yelp reviews! super friendly staff. you could tell by the back and forth banter between them all that they have a lot of fun here. that doesn't mean they didn't take care of me. dr was patient and advised me about everything he was doing and testing me for. kinda trippy when he dialated my pupils but he then went and took the time to explain in detail the image we were seeing (no pun intended). after the exam the gal helped me try on multiple sets of frames and gave me an honest opinion of what she thought. thank god for her because i have a massive head and i'm not very stylish. haha. she found frames that fit me well and looked good with my complexion. a modern look that will work out well with my lifestyle. they were ready in less than a week. the same gal took the time to ensure my frames were fitted properly (though i might go back to have them readjusted after wearing them for a little over a week now). prices seemed reasonable based on what my lousy insurance covered so i'll be back when it's time for my seed to have her eyes checked out. read more

After a very bad experience at JC Penney Optical in Bellevue Square, we came to Eyedentity. The process was fast, professional, and ended with a great pair of glasses that were much cheaper than we could have gotten at JC Penney. Some highlights: I loved that their frames were organized by color and style rather than by brand. They welcomed my toddler and made sure I knew they had a toy corner for him. They went above and beyond for us... our insurance usually requires that an optical shop use their lab, but we were in a rush (my daughter was about to leave for college) and they knew the work around to get the glasses done in time. And beyond that, they were fun. They play great music (a wide variety, but all good)! And when one of the staff was singing a phrase from a song from Les Miserables that had come up on their mix, my daughter joined in, and then the staff went and popped in the Les Mis CD and they geeked out about musicals for a bit while the other staff person processed our paperwork. :-) read more

I had an appointment their earlier today to get my check up and a get some new contacts. I scheduled an appointment and walked over after work because it is very close and I thought it would be easy since I lost my license recently. Anyway I walked in and stood in the store for at least 5 minutes and was not greeted. As I stood at the counter waiting for someone to help me. The doctor simply looked at me as if he was waiting to say something to me, then turned and walked away without greating me or saying a word. WTF? I walked out immediately and refuse to spend any money for such bs attitude. Granted my contacts are very expensive so they just lost about $500-$600 from that, so I hope they are happy. I found it to be very rude and I don't appreciate that sort of attitude and poor costumer service. I have nothing good to say about this place. First off, it is disgusting inside. It is carpeted (with plush carpet like you would find in the 1980's) and has TONS of nasty brown stains. The decor has not been updated in probably 20 years. Not to sound too superficial because I believe the skill and experience of the doctor is what is most important. But its much more than that. The service is just plain weird and very unusual/unprofessional. The Dr. himself is loud and obnoxious and cuts you off when you are speaking. I could tell he wasn't listening to anything I was saying. The front desk staff is abrasive when you call to inquire about ordering new lenses, saying things like "I can't promise you I'll do this today" and things of that nature. Just a general lack of courtesy and politeness. In fact, today was the final straw, hence this review. I have tried to contact them SEVEN times to order 1 more box for each eye (to cover me until I am eligible to have my next exam this year). Their website says they are open at today at 10:00 AM and nobody answers the phone and there is not even a voicemail system!! I finally emailed them (at a yahoo.com address!) but its now 4:00 PM and still NO RESPONSE. Furthermore, I don't feel the doctor did a great job prescribing glasses or contact lenses. My glasses have been a touch blurry for me since I got them and my contacts have been as well. I recently tried on my last pair of glasses (from 2006) and the prescription was better than my brand new pair from 2014! I've had glasses/contacts for over 20 years and have visited many eye doctors and this was hands down the worst place/experience I've had. I'm honestly surprised that they have a fair amount of good reviews because the entire experience of working with them has fallen way short of my expectations, which were simply to be treated professionally, kindly and as one would expect to be treated by a medical professional.
