WASHINGTON PACIFIC EYE ASSOCIATES @ KIRKLAND Parking here can be a little difficult since it's mostly street parking. Just make sure you find a spot that allows two-hour parking rather than 30 minutes. I'd recommend parking on the left side near Jimmy John's or the Overlake Clinic, there's a good amount of street parking on both sides of the road in that area. I came in around 10 AM and the staff were extremely friendly. They asked about my day and how my morning was, which I really appreciated. I signed a couple of papers to get started and provided my insurance information, my mom is also on the insurance, so it was really nice that they already had a primary provider on file. I was quickly taken into a room and completed a few exams. I also received a free wellness exam since my mom is a current member, which was a huge plus. One thing I really liked about this place is that they don't do the air puff test that most eye doctors use. Usually there's a blue light you stare at and a puff of air that can irritate your eyes, so I was preparing myself for that. I was really happy they didn't do that here. Everything felt very subtle, comfortable, and smooth throughout the exam. The doctor was very kind and thorough. I did end up needing glasses, especially for long-distance driving, and the whole process of getting that figured out was quick and easy. I was able to choose my frames right after, and it was a very seamless experience. My total came out to around $100, and my insurance covered a large portion of it. My glasses should be ready within the next two weeks. Overall, I really loved this place. The staff are incredibly friendly, the process was easy, and the care was great. I would definitely recommend stopping by and I would absolutely come back again. read more

I would put a negative star if I could. We are returning patients, which makes this situation even more disappointing. Our son's contact lens fitting appointment was canceled without my authorization. I never asked to cancel--if I had, I would not have rearranged my entire family's schedule for this visit. We wasted an entire day only to arrive and find out the appointment was cancelled. To make matters worse, when we got to the office, the person scheduled to see was sitting at the front desk the entire time as my husband and son waited. This shows that our time slot was open and could have been easily used, with zero valid reason for turning us away. Management was completely unprofessional throughout. Not only did nobody apologize to us in person, but no real effort was made to accommodate our son, and nobody took accountability for the staff's mistakes. Now, because of this incompetence, I have to take more time off work, my son has to miss more school, and our family has to bear the burden of their disorganization. Today's experience ruined all of my previous positive experiences with this clinic. As much as I hate the thought of changing eye clinics for my entire family, I do not want to interact with them again. If you value your time, your sanity, or your family's well-being, I suggest you go anywhere else. This place is the perfect example of how a clinic should NOT be run. read more

Hello, I have been using this clinic now for years. I have had some of the best eye care. Until today I tried to contact Dr. Lyne and Dr. Sean Batson who happens to be the CEO of Washington Pacific Eye Associates in Kirkland Wa. I set up a appointment a year in advance with Dr. Lyne- I missed the appointment and was sent a $75.00 Fine. I called their office to see why I did't get a phone call or a reminder of any kind. When I called the office manager Sarah V. I was wanting to set up an appointment with my Eye Doctor. I was rudely told that I can't set up an appointment, once I pay for a $75.00 Missed appointment fee then you can set up an appointment. The word of the wise: Don't use this clinic for anything. Sarah V. is very rude this whole experience has been awful. I find it complexing that the CEO Dr. Sean Batson would allow Sarah V. act this way and get in the way of Doctor patient privilege over a lousy Fine of $75.00. Remember if you do use this clinic and if you make a Doctors appointment in a year advance don't forget because Sarah V. will yell this at you.. This company is uncompassionate with billing practices, even for long term patients. It's not the same company that the founder, Jennifer Lee, started. If you make any financial mistakes such as missing non-paid insurance claims that show up on a bill, they will turn you away. I paid in full our last past-due bill in collections so that my partner could get checked. But later, for an important prescription to keep his eye healthy, we were unforgivable--they said it was our 2nd time. Could not even get an appointment. This uncompassionate, strict policy from the billing department is not mentioned in the billing agreement and it's just cold. You get one chance and then you go to jail. I understand that nothing's free in healthcare, you don't want dead beats and it says payment due upon receipt. But healthcare bills are pervasive and it's hard to keep up sometimes. We wanted to pay up again, just to renew a prescription, but this company cut us off on a phone call with no concern (and no options), so I want everyone to know about the uncaring, cold billing department. If you can't afford the total bill, or IF YOUR INSURANCE does not cover everything, I would go elsewhere because they won't help you. They will send you to collections because they just want the money. Very disappointed--we have gone here for a long time. On January 8, 2016. Arrived at Overlake Hospital Surgical Center with hopeful anticipation for restored left eye visual acuity; departed with retinal hemorrhage and total loss of visual acuity. Today marks the sixth year since your cataract surgery protocol rendered my left eye permanently blind. No expected surgical outcome was conveyed by Dr. Lee prior or subsequent to the surgery. I anticipated Dr. Lee would confer with me post surgery. No visit was convened. No surgical center post operative care attendant inquired regarding my visual condition during my wait in the recovery area. I was discharged from Overlake Surgical Center with massive retinal hemorrhage and blindness without cognizance. No telephone inquiries regarding my condition were received from either Dr. Lee or the Overlake Hospital Surgical Center staff post surgery! Alas! Dr. Lee's post operative neglect forfeited a potential remedial action. I deem Dr. Lee's failure to validate my post operative visual outcome an egregious fiduciary breach!! I want to share my experience with the Pacific Eye Center in Kirkland during my several visits there. The location is very convenient and easily accessible. Regarding the front desk staff, "Jason" is an outstanding employee who is professional and a natural problem solver. He is undoubtedly the best at the front desk. On the other hand, "Taylor" is also an excellent staff member who is polite, has a good vibe, and would address any concerns you may have. Unfortunately, "Ronita" has a bad attitude, makes excuses, and does not follow Pacific Eye Center policies. If you are looking to face a rude and unhelpful staff member, she is the one. Dr. Ashley is a professional who remains calm and knowledgeable and readily explains your condition and next steps. "Jae," in the sales section, will do his best to fulfill your eyeglass needs. Really good experience with this place. We were able to get a same day appt on a Saturday for an issue my daughter was experiencing with her left eye. Dr. Wedel was thorough in the exam and answered my many questions and concerns without rushing. Emailed with another question on Sunday, and received a response early Monday morning. Front desk staff were great when calling to make the appt, during check out and w/ follow up. Parking is terrible, but if you go on a weekend you can use the City Hall public parking which is only a few blocks away. read more

Worst staff I've ever encountered! They messed up my contacts order and had the audacity to shame me for not informing them in time, even though they clearly admitted that they ordered the wrong ones. They're cold, dismissive and feel entitled to treat patients that raise a credible issue however they please just to avoid admitting they were wrong and rectifying the issue. When you allow your staff to run your office/business with little regard or care for the customer you lose patients. Don't take my word for it, it's noted in other reviews. I used them before Covid for my eye exams and getting lens and glasses, but stopped because I wasn't happy with the last glasses I got from them, so decided to try something new. Recently I decided to give them a second opportunity since they are very close to where I live, and it was very bad. Customer service is awful, the lens provided were useless since I couldn't wear them, and they excuse their mistakes by telling you that you signed a paper. I have been going to Washington Pacific for awhile and I will share what I think they do well and what I think that they don't do well. I like their doctors and nursing staff, I find them to be knowledgeable and professional and I have difficult eye issues so when I say they are good, I mean it. I drive quite aways to get there. The parking is horrible, you have to park at the library and walk over so it's only a good choice if you are okay walking a few blocks or plan to uber over (or live nearby). There might be some paid parking lots closer, the library is free. Jay in optical is impressive in knowledge and great, however, he is only one person and works I believe 4 days during business hours. One of the advantages of this office is also getting your glasses done there but if you don't work remote (or are retired, etc.) you can't go over during the middle of a weekday. That's my issue so I've gotten glasses in the past there but I had to give up and go to costco. I have heard that every other Saturday they have someone else but I wouldn't choose this location if you really want optical combined and it's not convenient to go in during a weekday. As for the office staff, I believe that several of the reviews are due to front desk / reception. The man who works there is knowledgeable about billing but he can get annoyed with patients. I don't have an issue with him (he's been there a long time and he does know a lot) but they have a woman currently working for them and she is so rude and unprofessional. She talks very curtly and it can take a long time to pick up the phone (10 minutes) but if she hears frustration in your voice she starts talking weird and making up stories, like saying you are yelling when you are definitely not yelling and being oddly aggressive. She is also curt when you walk in for your appointment. She appears to be very unhappy to be there and interprets people's looks and voice according to her negative view of the job? It's honestly weird, like she wants to pick a fight with everyone. Not who I would pick for a reception / front office person who interacts with clients. If you can get past the front office staff, I think the nurses are very helpful and great. Bottomline, go here for the doctors and nurses and possibly optical and just figure that you will have to deal with the administrative challenges to get good care. The exam I was given at this clinic was substandard and incomplete. I had to pay out of pocket for a second exam, but thank goodness I did, because not only was this clinic's diagnosis and prescription wrong, they failed to notice swelling in both of my eyes, which necessitated medication. I do not have insurance that pays providers very much and I was not interested in spending more money with this clinic that day. I would hate to think they quickly shooed me out of there because of these reasons, but it sure made me feel cruddy. I went to the Redmond Costco Optometrist, she was brilliant! and did buy 2 pair of glasses for about $350. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice try to treat every customer as they would like to be treated. read more

Get your eyes checked! Makes a great difference. Dr shawn saw me for dry eye symptoms that i was experiencing but he found that i had some other cornea defect due to which my eyes were over worked. The glasses that he prescribed made my life easier. The staff was also very calm and helpful. The location is convenient as well. The only reason not giving 5 stars is they asked for my address twice on different forms for patient form and postcard which they could have reused. And they didnt have eye drop samples. read more

I had my eye exam on April 27, 2013. I had run out of daily contacts from moving (couldn't find the last box or two) and needed contacts right away. Seeing as I was a previous patient, I didn't expect this to take quite as long as it did. I called and asked for status on my contacts a week later to be told nothing. I called again in another week asking for my prescription to just be mailed to me since I needed contacts now. They agreed, but I never got it. I finally found my contacts, THANK GOD, because it's the first of JULY and I finally got an appointment for contact lens fitting on July 3. Now, if that's not bad enough, it's only because I kept calling to ask them where my damn contacts were. To make matters worse I got my FIRST bill from them stating that my account was 60 days past due and that the payment was due by June 27 BUT the envelope was postmarked June 28!!! Are you kidding me? First of all, I haven't even had my stupid contact lens fitting and you're charging me for it, AND it's considered LATE?!??! Never in my life have I seen such incompetence from an office staff. Now, the service from the office staff is not any better when you're actually there either. The girls are rude, abrupt, dismissive, and generally unfriendly. If you don't like people or your job, find another one! The doctors themselves are great. Dr. Jennifer Lee did my eye surgery and and I would consider getting custom Lasik from her. Dr. Jessica Lee (not related, btw) was also very nice and I could see coming to her again. BUT the office staff and the wait makes this place unbearable. The two stars are for the doctors, but honestly, they need new front office workers if they want their business to continue. Not many people are willing to put up with that much sh!t. I was referred to this clinic by my Endocrinologist for my yearly Type 1 diabetes eye exams. I have been pleased enough with their services (from reception, to the Dr. and actual exam, to insurance/billing) that I now have my whole family going. My teenaged son has a possible glaucoma situation they diagnosed and are keeping a close eye on. I also willingly pay an extra $30 for a "no dilation " computerized scan. I would recommend this clinic for a routine optometrist and also ophthalmologist needs. read more

Updating review based on recent experience with the Front desk staff. (Dr. Jennifer is still excellent). I was stuck in traffic and running late to an appointment, nothing crazy about 15-20ish minutes away. I was told they have a 10 minute policy and will charge me $50. After much pleading this was waived and was told I WONT be seen that day, wasting my commute from Seattle to Kirkland in the middle of a work day. All of this is ok if patients are treated exactly the same way, I have rarely been seen on time usually 5-10mins off and atleast on 2 occasions including today was a 30+ minute wait. It is hard to precisely time patient care and plan around emergencies. We as patients are being lenient more often than not, it is not too much to ask to extend the same courtesy to us! read more

Doctor great as well as office manager, but front desk staff verbally abusive to patients.

I think I saw a different Jennifer Lee than all these other folks. Tight-lipped and short-temepered, it was damn near impossible to get her to tell me anything about my condition, and she got visibly angry when I couldn't recommend an antibiotic for my own treatment (keeping in mind, I'm not the doctor here -- I have no idea which antibiotic was most appropriate). This led to her prescribing an ototoxic antibiotic for a six week period without ever mentioning the possible side-effects or consequences - specifically, hearing loss or tinnitus. After the run, I ended up with severe tinnitus, as advertised -- so severe that I still need a prescription for medication just to sleep at night. I was handed off to three other doctors in a multitude of visits - one of whom took over for the second half of my first appointment (!), and this lack of consistency gave me zero confidence in their ability. I ended up switching to another ophthalmologist, for the better. Last thing I was told by one of these doctors after my last examination was, in all seriousness, "I'm glad you're getting better, we all thought you were going to die." When I asked him if he was being serious, he said yes -- my condition, he told me, could have been fatal. That was the first time any doctor there told me anything of the sort. That was, in my opinion, incredibly irresponsible of them. I can honestly say, with no exaggeration, that my life is worse for having put any trust whatsoever in Jennifer Lee and her staff. read more

My wife tells me that she had a very bad experience recently with her Contacts Prescription. Not only was the wrong prescription sent to Costco which would have cost us a lot of money and wasted time if the Costco optical person didn't notice such a drastic difference in the new prescription, when she contacted the office to get the correct prescription sent and emailed to her, there was no apologies in the mistake. It looks like the correct prescription was later faxed to Costco, which we were able to fill but had to go back to Costco later in the day. She did not get the email of prescription as originally requested. She contacted the office again to get the email, and when she got an email the prescription was not attached. When she contacted the office that the prescription was not attached, the wrong prescription was attached again. So she contacted the office again, and this time they finally sent the correct prescription. Something like this shouldn't have happened in the first place. But if due to human error something like this occurs, at least have the decency to sincerely apologize and try to make amends. This is basic customer service. I'm a bit surprised and disappointed, as I have been going to this practice for a few years and have had a good experience so far. I hope that this feedback gets sent to the appropriate person so that your services to your customers could improve. Also that we don't have something like this happen to us again. read more

My experience wasn't horrible but it was good either, here's the details: 1) Watch out for very limited parking. 2) Front desk staff was very robotic, made me feel like I was passing through a manufacturing assembly line. 3) I was charged extra because I chose not to go with the "dilated eye drops" and use their machine instead. Funny that my last eye doctor stopped charging extra for this years ago. 4) they tried to charge me a "contact lens evaluation fee" of $120 so I declined the evaluation. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a fee and I've had glasses and contacts most of my life. I'll be looking for another eye doctor. read more

I'm so angry right now. If there was zero star or a minus,I would generously give them. After my experience with them on my day of appointment I decided it was better not to review them than give them a negative review because I hardly do but then today I got a bill of $50 Missed appointment from them- that's a NO! I scheduled an appointment with them and was around the premises but with NO PLACE TO PARK. I had all my 3 kids with me in the car and kept looking for where to park (the one or two slots available are paid parking & I wasn't prepared or informed of that). I gave them a call to explain what was going on and I was told to go somewhere else to park which I tried and almost got served a ticket by police officer for my indecision loitering. After it was over 30mins trying, I gave up trying and called to tell them this isn't working and will like to cancel the appointment. The last said fine. Only to get a $50 bill in my mail today.
