This clinic does not honor appts, even those made 4 months prior. In Nov 2025, I made an appt to see Dr. McManus on Feb 24, 2026. At that time, he was accepting new patients. He decided to stop accepting new patients 2 weeks prior to my appt. I called to ask if they would honor the appt given it's long standing and was told "no." I asked them to check with Dr. McManus given the length of time the appt had been on the books. They said he had specifically told them to cancel all appts (she emphasized all). She (Megan) seemed certain he wouldn't consider it and wasn't willing to approach him about this. Bottom Line - don't expect this clinic to honor those things they've committed to. In my business, I encourage employees to come to me with these types of concerns and would never have turned down someone in this situation. read more

Left eye getting fuzzy in the distance, needed a new prescription. Had a disastrously poor experience at the chain store I'd been going to for years, so hopped on Yelp to see who others liked. Lots of people liked Dr. McManus, so I made an appointment and had an exam. Holy hand grenade, Batman--it was outstanding. State-of-the-art/new equipment, used artfully by a master of his craft. He explained the state of my eyes in detail I'd never heard before. His staff was well-trained and pretty fabulous too. Dr. McManus' services cost a little more than the optometrists at the back of the chain store--and are worth double every penny. read more

I'll preface this review by saying that I'm also at fault here for not directly confronting the staff but I'm tired of fixing things. The doctor here seems fine - I didn't have any issues with my eye exam so I would recommend taking the exam here. My issues all stem from the purchase of glasses. I order a pair of glasses after spending one morning picking out a new pair after my exam. I was told when purchasing that I would be getting new frames. Great! And that it would take at least two weeks. That's expected, especially with my astigmatism, lenses just take longer. They finished it in under a week, but it turns out it's because they used the display frames and tried to pass them off as new!! I only found out by mistake because the color looked very off (turned out to be lighting) but as I examined them, I realized they were also very scratched. They made it right by order me new frames and swapping out the lens for me but that process was a nightmare because they couldn't communicate a time frame of when I could expect the new pair (they blamed the vendor but at this point, I have trust issues with this place). Complete silence for almost 2 weeks. I had to reach out for an update, which just isn't great customer service. Turns out, they really mark up frames. I didn't realize it until I got the overview from my insurance but they billed $470 frames for $600. First world problem? Sure, but that doesn't change the facts. I'm sure if they mark up the expensive ones, they also mark up the cheaper ones too. Save yourself the heartache and time. read more

I needed a new eye doctor and somewhat randomly picked Dr. McManus. I am so glad I was led to his office by fate. When I walked in the door I was promptly greeted by the staff. I only waited a moment before being led back to a room for my preliminary exam. Once that was completed I was led to the room for the primary exam. I think I waited about a minute before Dr. McManus came in. He greeted me very warmly and reviewed the information from the preliminary exam. He conducted a thorough exam and we talked about my eyes and general health. I really liked Dr. McManus and everyone I met at his office. My appointment was handled very professionally, yet in a friendly manner. It was quick and efficient. read more

I am very impressed with Bellevue Optometry and Dr McManus. The office is very well taken care of and clean and the staff is helpful and welcoming. I started on my very long journey of being fitted for contacts back in October of 2017 at a different but near by Bellevue vision center. The process was so long and drawn out that finally at the end of February 2018, still not having a prescription for lenses even though they had given me about 13 different sets to try I gave up and went looking for a better Doctor. I was referred to Bellevue Optometry and Dr McManus by a co-worker who has been seeing him for years. I was pleasantly surprised at the drastic difference and vast improvement this new doctor was in comparison to the previous. He was very knowledgeable and just made me feel very sure of his ability to find the right lenses for me. I returned to work with some trials that day and immediately told my co-worker that he was waaaaaay better and that I was so sure he was going to be able to get it right! After wearing the trials for a week or so I had my follow up where he made 1 adjustment to one of my eyes and BAM! HE GOT IT JUST RIGHT ON TRY # 2!!!! His team reached out with a break down of my coverage benefits and a rebate offer and placed the order to be shipped to my house. I could not be more happy with my experience. read more

After making an appointment online two weeks earlier, including the completion of the requested contact and insurance information, I showed up for my appointment and was told the clinic does not accept my insurance. The front desk staff blamed the computer system that "erased" my contact information as the reason for not contacting me. One of the front desk staff looks and asks the other, "oh, is this the one?" Yeah, that feels really good on a human level. Nearly every doctor, in whatever speciality, require patients to sign a form acknowledging and accepting responsibility, holding them accountable for payments and appointment cancellation policies. But who holds the clinic responsible when they don't hold up their end of the bargain? Humans blaming computers is highly unprofessional and abdicates responsibility. read more

Top Notch Customer Service! This office is exceptional! Every staff member I came into contact with was extremely professional, welcoming and had a great sense of humor. Been to the office twice and I am satisfied with the service. The stuffs are very friendly and Dr. Rick is thorough. They also found me a new frame that I like, which is rare as I am picky in glass frames. The only downside is that they charge more for contact lenses prescription v.s. my previous O.D. in U Dist. I had been unhappy for a couple of years with the office I had been with. I didn't feel like the exam was thorough and the staff was not very helpful. I planned to switch after the first exam but I lost my glasses and went back a second time in an emergency. We have tried a number of optometry clinics over the years and never quite felt "at home" at any of them. Came across Bellevue Optometry Clinic online; it wasn't exactly close to home but it had good reviews so we figured we'd give it a try. And so glad we did! Dr McManus is an absolute pleasure to deal with, and all the staff is very polite and professional and helpful. Took a while for our daughter to be able to put in contacts (her first time with them), and the ladies helping here were nothing but kind and patient and stayed there with her until she got the hang of it, which was past their closing time (I felt so bad to keep them late, but so thankful for their help!) They also made things really easy for us by billing insurance directly. We just ordered another set of contacts from them and will be taking our entire family there for future eye exams. read more

I have been a glasses only customer for more than 10 years. I get my eyes examined by an Opthomologist. So this review is based soley on the Opticiian Services. I am always treated courteously by all of the staff. The prices are reasonable and the selection of frames is excellent. Oftem I come in at the end of the calsendar year (just before Christmas so I don't lose my employer's benefit. Although they are busy, they take sufficient time to measure and remeasure for my progressive lenses. I've never had a problem with any of the lenses (or frames) I have purchased. read more

This is the worst eye exam experience i had over the years. I have been wearing the contact lens for year, and recently just found some issues with the near sight blurriness. Not only the doctor didn't discover that I have started having bifocal issue, but also he made a mistake, by just raising my prescription, to make the close reading even more blurry. When I called back for coming back to check again, he denied and just asked me to go back to the previous prescription. In the end, I had to go to the other 2 eye doctors to fix the bifocal issue. And several days later, I got a bill from them other than their charge to the insurance for both "eye exam" and "prescription". They charged me $49 for contact lens fitting fee, which either he didn't fit me with any contacts, or did any test for the base curve or diameter for the contacts. Where does the fee come from? they just want money, and never treat patients professionally!! I would suggest you stay away from this office. The doctor is not friendly in person at all, comparing with all other nice doctors. read more
