On March 24th, 2026 I had an appointment at this Eye Glass World location in Indianapolis, I had a exceptional experience, outstanding staff, The eye doctor ( Dr. Gould) she did my examination was very friendly very Curtis and very helpful she explained my situation . I feel that she should be commend for being very exceptional and professional in her job . After my exam I spoke with Warren he was also very professional very helpful he helped me pick up two nice pair of glasses the one pair that I chose comes with a gray tent, I also chose a pair of sunglasses Ray-Ban of course very nice looking as you both pairs are very nice looking when I looked in the mirror I felt very confident and very happy and very pleased with a choice. Warren is an exceptional courteous and all around nice person to talk to. I would highly recommend this location you are the need of glasses or contacts or not to stop by sometime and tell them what a great job they do and how they help the community and the city of Indianapolis. Update #2 - Here it is another 14 days later and STILL no sunglasses. I did receive an email this morning from someone named Sara letting me know their district manager will be in touch with me to try to assist me with this circus. I emailed their corporate office after the upteenth run around. I was hopeful when I read the email but no call yet. I called the store this past Friday to see if the sunglasses made an appearance yet & was told no. I asked if they can please track them? This employee told me yes, they can ( remember now , the assistant manager had told me no, I asked again if they could be tracked because I can't put my trust in anything any of them say) however, she can't "access the system to track it but let me take your name & number so the person that knows how to do this can call you." For the love of God, give me the damn tracking number & I'll do it myself! WTF WITH THIS PLACE!! And you guessed it, no one ever called me , it's now Monday night. They were open over the weekend. I am so glad I ordered a whole other pair from LensCrafters across the street from them . I paid out of pocket because that's how much I do not trust Eyeglass World to ever get the sunglasses I ordered thru them to me. Pretty sad. They should take a lesson from their competition, they had them in within 6 days. Very professional & get this , they knew how to do all aspects of their job. What a concept!! RESOLUTION FINALLY- The District Manager, Ashley, contacted me this morning. Very professional, she made everything right for not just me but also what my husband dealt with. Despite not getting the insurance on his glasses, unbeknownst to us, you still have a 30 day warranty on your glasses. Ashley explained even without getting their insurance on them, they should not break do easily after just receiving them. The arm fell right off & his prescription is off. Ashley patiently listened to every miserable thing that happened at this store. The end result is she gladly refunded both of our glasses, having them re made and turns out my husband wasn't able to see with his new glasses because they put in the wrong lenses! They put in single vision when he should've had the progressive! And he paid for a progressive lens! Ashley is taking care of everything, remaking them , refunding our money & sending us to the Noblesville location for better service , also, getting our vision insurance reinstated since our visits at the Castleton store were a complete waste of money, time , gas & patience. Once again ordered new lenses for my glasses from eyeglass world. Got the alert that they were in went in to get them. Oh darn sorry you drove so far we don't have the machine to cut them to fit your glasses. I am so sick of trying with this company. Why don't you just shut down the store. What a waste of gas time and effort don't call and say something is ready to be picked up if it's not. How about communicate with the customer. Very disappointed once again. The only reason I came in for new lenses was because they are under warranty. I shouldn't need them anyhow if they were made properly. Is there anything this place can do right, the first time? The tech who helped me, after waiting 45 mins post exam, was rude, uninformed of products, was eating chips and drinking a pop the entire time I was selecting my glasses. She was extremely difficult to understand. Additionally, the 2 for $89 is not true. That only applies if you are uninsured. Otherwise the 2nd pair is 40% off. Also, same day delivery not true. It was 3 weeks before my glasses were ready. I will never utilize this business again. read more

Came to this location because I had been experiencing some issues with my left eye. I'm a contract wearer that does not do well taking care of them. I was already due for an eye exam. I made an appointment, which they were professional and flexible in doing so. When I got there, I was greeted by two workers on the floor. They helped me check in and watch for the doctor. In the meantime, I check out frames that they had on display. They had some cool brands such as DKNY and Coach. While trying a few frames on, the doctor called my name to come into her office. The doctor was very nice and conducting her tests on my eyes. She took her time to listen to me and my health concerns about my eyes. She informed me I was having some dryness issues and ordered me to rest my contacts for a week. She wanted a follow up appointment for the following week. I came back that following week and the doctor saw improvements. I was very impressed that she was able to help me correct the issues. It appears my issues were caused not only by dryness, but also by a wrong prescription I received 2 years ago in Chicago. Since I have received the doctor's services, my eyes are doing much better (no major dryness, no veins jumping, etc.) The staff was very helpful! The general manager was very friendly and checked on me to ensure I was being taken care of. The receptionist was professional. I liked that they did not push me to use the rest of my HSA at their store. I really liked some purple DKNY frames, and buying them with my 6 months supply of contacts would have maxed out my HSA. But I knew even thought they were really cute, I hardly wear glasses. So they said OK and sold me the contacts. I appreciate the suggestion to buy the glasses, but not being pushed to be oversold. I will go to the location again for my eye care needs, even thought the Greenwood location is closer. I just received better service and care at this location. read more

Brooke was very professional and did her job great even with me moving around knowing the air was going to be hitting my eyes. Dr. Gould on the other hand was to worried about going to lunch to take the time to dilate my eyes. with a family member having macular degeneration I thought he would be more concerned about it. Just said set it up for another day. He didn't even mention this to anyone! Brooke helped me even choose my glasses for my face shape. Warren was helpful in my purchase even holding door on way out! Have used the Eyeglass World in Southern Plaza Indianapolis for a number of years. I am not an easy critic, but I have to say I am very impressed with not only their willingness to work with you when you have a granddaughter who still wants frames from years ago, no longer available, but their charges for their work are so fair and low. Often when you want your lenses put into old frames the business tries to hit you with an extra charge because they did not make profit on selling you frames, so they charge a fee for putting lenses into existing frames. Eyeglass world did not. Their prices were very reasonable and those working at this location are so nice and willing to please. When we wanted detailed info on the frames they were so nice about pulling up the info and even gave us info on where to find the exact frames. read more

Tona is great, service is decent and the five pairs of glasses I have had little to no problems with.

The staff was rude and the commercials were hype, catfish, scam. The $78.00 was just the frames not the lenses, or the exam. the commercials state the exam and the glasses cost $78.00. It's not true. Julie asked me "Do you have a problem with night driving?" My wife answered, "No, he's okay with driving at night." She stared at me and asked me again as if my wife of 27 years had not been in the room. "Do you have a problem driving at night?" I said, "No" Later Julie asked if I had my prescription, My wife saw me put it in my wallet but because of the treatment she had received earlier she didn't say anything. It took almost another ten minuets until we finally found the prescription. Then my wife said, "I saw Tim put it in his wallet, but as I was ignored earlier when you asked a question, I choose to keep my mouth closed this time; as you were so rude to me earlier. read more

Gold star for Doctor Long! I was on the search for an affordable optometrist after my long-time optometrist moved to Ossip, which is insanely expensive. Based upon a friend's recommendation, I decided to check out Eyeglass World. I've been there twice and left satisfied. Dr. Long is thoughtful, thorough, and the sweetest. The staff is fairly nice. They get packed so wait times can be a bit longer than usual, but nothing too inconvenient. Solid, inexpensive, and reliable. read more

I originally posted this on the wrong location. My apologies to the Greenwood store. There is an update to this review at the bottom. Please be sure to read it. I bought two pairs of bifocal glasses at the store at 9630 E. Washington St. last Thursday. They couldn't get them done the same day, so I went back Saturday to pick them up. After waiting 30 minutes (they apparently only had one technician on staff that day), I had to wait a little longer, because the glasses weren't ready, despite it being over an hour later than when I was told they would be ready. After several adjustments, I left and went about my day. I didn't realize until Sunday when I got on the computer, that there were no bifocals in the glasses! I can barely read anything, and only with a lot of strain. Now I have to take the glasses back, which is a hardship for me because I'm on oxygen due to a lung disease and it's very difficult for me to get around. I have no complaint about the people working there. Both people who waited on me were very nice and seemed competent, although someone dropped the ball somewhere. I don't know if the wrong order was entered or if the guy making the glasses screwed up. Even though I got the cheapest bifocals, I was pleased with the selection of frames. The store was clean and bright. They could use a couple more employees, though. Both times I was in the store, people were waiting, and I felt the wait was too long both times I was there. UPDATE: Eyeglass World more than made up for their mistake! They not only corrected the error, but they upgraded my glasses to polycarbonate lenses AND progressive lenses! They went above and beyond, and because of that, I'm changing my rating to four stars (it would've been five if the wait times hadn't been longer than I felt were reasonable), and will definitely recommend them (I've already recommended them on my Facebook page). It's not often that I receive this kind of customer service anywhere these days, so kudos to them! I'll be a repeat customer for sure. :) read more

My elderly mother (72) and on a fixed income and I visited this store on Saturday, July 15th. I observed my mother inquiring about price and was told $78 for 2 pair plus $39 eye exam. When my mother wasn't looking, I bought a $100 gift certificate to help cover her costs. She made an appointment for the following Monday. She had the eye exam, and then a very rude "Brandy" advised her that the total was $177.00. She asked how this was possible. Brandy spouted off so charges that weren't what my mother ordered and then she said she was going to talk to her 'manager'. When she came back, she said the total was now $277.00 and she did not mention the gift certificate. This upset my mother who asked to speak to this 'manager'. The manager then informed her of the gift certificate. It was obvious they shot the price up $100 to cover the gift card I purchased and also added progressive lenses that my mother did not order. My mother left, very upset, and informed me about it this evening. I am out of town on business but will be back this weekend. I will be calling the store tomorrow. If we don't get what we were told, I will be calling the local media, the attorney general and the council on aging as this was an obvious attempt to take advantage of the elderly. HORRIBLE experience. I've worn corrective vision for 15 years, and in 15 years of eye exams with at least 10 different opticians, I've never had a worse experience. The exam lasted maybe 5 minutes, the shortest exam I've ever had. While its nice to get in and get out- when it comes to my eyes, I want the most thorough and sure fire exam possible. I'm going to be wearing whatever prescription is given to me for the next 12+ months and if it's just a little bit off its going to be noticeable- not to mention its probably not good for your eyesight long term. After my exam I was told to select my frames- I was followed around by a new associate who stared at me while I tried on several pairs, asking me to look at her so she could comment her thoughts. I understand she's trying to be nice and attentive but when someone's trying on glasses, clothes etc.. They want their own space and they don't want the opinion of a stranger. After picking my frames I was taken to a desk to finalize my lens options. As I asked questions about the upgrades, it was very clear that no matter what question I asked, the associate was going to vote for me spending more money on the highest quality upgrades. This is not helpful or tactful. After finalizing my payment, I was told to come back the next day to pick them up at noon. I live 20 minutes away from this location. I came back today to pick them up, I arrived at 12:45. Upon arrival I was told that they would not be ready for another hour, why they didn't think to give me a call and let me know is beyond me. I have a schedule including work and other errands that have now been interrupted due to the lack of consideration from the associates at this location. Extremely disappointed with the service of this store. I will not return, ever. And I will do my best to let others know that they should not ever take their business to this location either. read more

After leaving my review yesterday at lunch another phone call was made, this time by my mother who is also fed up with the poor service. She demanded to speak with a manager and was old they were busy at the moment and would call her back if she left her name. She said she would hold as long as needed. upon speaking with the manager she was told that the frames for my glasses had not actually been delivered as they were being requested from another store, (which I found interesting because the associate who assisted me the day I dropped them off asked the other store to have them overnighted or sent next day. The manager said that the frames would be in Friday but if I wanted they had a black and red version of mine that they could do same day. This option was denied, they were not the frames I already knew what I looked like in. The manager said that the black and ivory pair would be read sometime Friday and I would be called as soon as they were done so I would not waste a trip to the store. Today is Friday 4pm and I haven't received a call yet. I'll be going to the store this time for answers as I am tired of being lied to over the phone. read more

This is the worst company in the country. When i got my glasses the technician broke the lenses three times. Since i got them everytime i look down my lenses fall and and my glasses fall off. I have taken them back 4 times and they claim they adjust them but nothing changes. Today i called them and they said they can't adjust them again. Made appointments for myself and hubby ended up ten minutes late for mine so they said they would try to squeeze me in. That was the last thing they said to me. Hubby got his exam and glasses two hours later I'm still sitting there. Hubby finally asks about me and they say oh no you will have to reschedule. OK went here on a Sunday got an eye exam and bought two pair of glasses, one reader and one for distance. After the 3 hours spent mostly from the sales person trying to sell me their eye glass plan for $99.00 and telling the guy doing my order that my insurance was no good and this would save me money. He totaled everything up and it was with the $99.00 BS $463.00. My wife being the frugal person she is said just for the heck of it do it with our insurance only well $393.00 sounds better than their plan so we did it this way. He then tells my my distance glasses would be 7-10 days (no biggie) and that my readers would be available at 5pm Monday. I said I would just pick them up with the other pair because I was going out of town. At 12:15 Monday I get a call they tell me my readers would not be ready at 3pm but after 5pm, I replied ok thats the time I was given yesterday and I also said I will wait and pick them up when the other pair is ready. Tuesday 11:48 am Mr Have we are a little confused here did you order reading glasses or distance glasses because for some reason we have two orders here. I replied why in the hell would you ask me this when you called me yesterday telling me my readers would be ready after 5pm yesterday. She replied oh ok just checking, I then said wait a minute I have two pair coming readers and distance thats what I paid for, Oh let me check into that. I waited for a good 10 minutes before losing it and hanging up the phone. I then called my wife and told here to go get my money and cancel the whole order, she did and then called to tell me a check would be sent from corporate. I told her to call corporate the next day to make sure what we were being refunded. The next day she called and was told they can't speak to her on the matter and that I would need to call. So I called the next day and left a message with the person my wife spoke to, have still not heard back from them. Friday at 5:05 pm I missed a call, it was eyeglass world calling to tell me my glasses were done and ready to be picked up. All I can say is it's a damn good thing I am on the road until next week. More to be added after the wife goes there today to try and figure this out. Bottom line I don't like nor will I deal with incompetent people that had one thing to do and screwed it all up, but when you have three people dealing with one persons order and it get this screwed up it's called lack of communication and ignorance. Had major issues trying to find place that would take my daughters Medicaid and let me use my care credit so I saw the deals they had here and went to the Greenwood location with my Daughter and Husband. Loved numerous pairs of glasses and was shocked when the daughter found a designer pair she wanted that came with a free designer pair! There was issue with my credit card that they patiently waited until I got through to the card service place where it was corrected. I loved the girls and the way they helped me get what I wanted. I even left with a pair of designer sunglasses and daughter got two pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses all designer and all great priced...paid for two and got 4! Love the warranty that if I bring the glasses back in pieces they will cover it no questions asked...and that I had all four pairs In hour or so....people there are awesome and I don't know why there are so many reviews that speak of Greenwood not being good! I loved it and will make them me and daughters eye glass place, and the husband is going to get his there in few weeks as well! Customer satisfied and returning. read more

Horrible experience. I went in because I lost my old glasses and after my vision screen, I was told I need bifocals. directed to expensive lenses. I got my glasses and the prescription wasn't right at all. After some time I went back in and complained and was informed that the prescription was not filled correctly. They replaced the lenses and it's still horrible. After 6 months I have worn these glasses for a total of 12 hours. Depth perception is horrible and nothing focuses well read more
