I didn't even realize this store was in Waterford, but after seeing their commercials on TV with the Mr. World dude who's in awe of this place, I searched for it and found this one close by. I had a prescription already and was just shopping around for glasses. I walked in and was greeting by a gentleman who explained how it works and how they have a get two pairs special. I didn't need two pairs and I wasn't sure how to just buy one pair (nor did the guy explain it well), so I was immediately kind of doubting I'd get something here. I looked at the various framed which ranged from $99 to over $300 and just couldn't find something I liked or fit me well. Plus, the Mr. World dude wasn't there to entice me in any way. I've been getting my eyes examined here once/year for nearly a decade and can't believe that I've not reviewed them yet. For starters, its been a decade for them providing me this service so I suppose that says it all for my satisfaction with the service here. I don't have any complaints. I typically call in the Summer to schedule my annual visit for the Fall. I've always been able to get my first or second appointment choice without issue. They are pretty good with the automated and personal reminders for appointments. If an earlier appointment becomes available, you'll get automated message to opt for the earlier appointment if you want it. Once on site, I'm typically greeted by the staff working up front in the showroom doing eye glass fittings, etc. The exam in performed in the back. At check-in, you're ID and insurance is verified and you're given a clip board with documents to complete. Probably best to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to have time to complete these without a rush. Most of the time, I've probably waited 5-10 minutes after handing in my clip board before the tech takes me in for the ocular screenings. This takes about 10-15 minutes. Sometimes the Doc is immediately ready for you and sometimes there could be a short wait. Once you're done with the Doc, you pay and receive your prescription, if you have one. If you have a prescription and want to fill it, then you'd see the staff up front. Everyone has been cordial, friendly and helpful. Overall, its been good enough for me to continue coming back. read more

I have gone to eyeglass world for years. The customer service has gone down drastically. I had an appointment in June and did not receive a callback to get my glasses I ordered. I had to call them after a month to only find out that some machine to cut glasses was broken and that they would call me back. Well, guess what? No one ever called until this past Wednesday telling me they are calling to remind me they only hold glasses for 60 days. I said ma'am I have been waiting since June for my glasses. Horrible service. Scheduled an appointment online for 10:00am. I get there at 9:45 and they tell me they canceling my appointment because they have no doctor and have been cancelling appointments since 9am. My question is I know things happen but if you knew since 9 am why didn't anyone call me to Cancel before I drove an hour? The manager gave me 100 excuses - no solutions. Even told me they were seeing the walk ins that got in at 9 before me who scheduled an appointment. Funny thing is I even called at 9:30 to get the price for the exam and still no one told me I'd be wasting my time. She said I could wait a few hours there to see if anything opened up. While I waited i called lens crafters right across the street and they got me in IMMEDIATELY! The saying " You get what you pay for " couldn't be more real in this case. HORRIBLE! read more

Nothing but a series of mistakes and problems from the minute I walked in the door. My optometrist appt never showed up on their schedule so I had to reschedule for the next day. I Had my eyes examined by one of their rotating optometrist. I paid for a full examination he told me I didn't need contact lenses at my age and to wear glasses. I ordered my glasses there and took advantage of what I thought was their special. I spent around $500. When I came back for my glasses I told them I paid for a full examination but he wouldn't give me my contact lenses prescription. It took several complaints and visits but eventually the office personnel scheduled me with another optometrist Dr Bathtis. He was so thorough & knowledgeable. I have mono vision which means my left eye is for reading and my right eye is for distance. Come to find out I only needed one contact lenses to wear in my left eye to correct my reading vision and nothing was even wrong with my distance or other eye. What Dr Bathis discovered and the other optometrist failed to tell me is that I have cataracts in both eyes. My problem with clarity is the cataracts. I need surgery not $500 in eye glasses. The eye glass prescribed had no corrective prescription in the lenses except a correction in the left eye for reading which was corrected by buying just one contact for the left eye only. One box of contact lenses for that left eye is $50 for a box. So I spent $500 for progressive glasses that I did not even need. That one rotating optometrist never even told me I had cataracts after completing what I thought was a thorough examination. He documented the cataracts on my record according to Dr Bathis. But that rotating optometrist never mentioned cataracts, refused to give me a contact lens prescription as i requested but instead gave me a prescription to go buy glasses that weren't needed. From the minute I walked into this store there were a series of mistakes but this was the worst ...malpractice & just trying to sell glasses. I'll never go back to this place. I hadn't realized that other optometrist offices would be booked for a month in advance for an eye exam but I was luckily able to get one here the day before going. (There seemed to be a lot of appointments available, is this a good or bad sign..) The technician/ assistant was lovely & very friendly. She took the time to explain the various machines to me. The optometrist on the other hand was very dismissive & continuously interrupted me while I spoke. I did not feel heard or respected. The worst part is, he wore his mask below his nose & at one point he even pulled the mask completely down to his chin during my eye exam... in a tiny room...for no good reason in the middle of a pandemic....as a health care provider... Went in today, there were 2 customers in the store and 3 staff members in the front. One of the girls who was assisting a customer greeted us and told us to browse the frames and someone would be right with us. The other blond heavy set lady just looked up at us and went back to working with boxes of glasses at her desk. One of the customers left but we were still left standing there. Terrible customer service, we waited for 10 min without any hint of being approached by the poorly trained staff to assist us. Spent around $400.00 on prescription Oakley sunglasses. From day one, the lenses kept falling out. I brought them back to have them repaired. They took them and said they are repaired (2 week wait), but one side still to this day keeps falling out. I figured I will just deal with it, as I'm too busy to make time and wait a couple weeks to have them repaired. Its been around 2 years and the lenses are starting to get a white film between the glass. I took them back this week to get them looked at and fixed. The girl told me they are no longer an Oakley dealer and I would have to take them elsewhere. I told her they need to take care of the repairs, as I bought them from Eyeglass World. She refused. I told her I would take my business elsewhere from now on. I have spent a lot of money at this location in the past 10 years. I know they will miss me! read more

Best experience I've had at an eye doctors and purchasing frames EVER. I woke up and booked an appoimtnent online for 2:15 to get my exam. Arrived at 2 and was thanked for being early- the exam was done within 20 minutes. Impressive. I wasn't pressured to buy frames but walked in knowing I needed some. I got some help finding the right size and fit and then got some sunglasses also. The pricing is up front and the add on's are super affordable. I feel like the employees are there to simply help and there isn't pressure on them to pressure you which made me feel more comfortable spending more and asking more questions. 3 pairs were chosen with an eye exam and I was out in less than an hour. Double impressed. I also was able to go back in 4 hours and get all 3 of my purchases for $430 (THATS JUST ME!) and I don't have insurance. Disappointed with the stores lack of quality product. My wife and I spent hundreds of dollars on glasses from this store between the two of us. The metal in my frames turned color and rusted within a few weeks of purchase. My wife's lens cracked under the pressure of the frames. We believe that this was a manufacture defect. We contacted the store and the clerk stated that we had no recourse, but this was not true. Pretty terrible experience. Let me start by saying the girls at the desk were nice enough and didn't have much to do with this review. But I went in for my routine eye exam, they stated they didn't take my insurance, despite me verifying with my insurance company that they did. So twice while I was there I called my insurance provider who confirmed that they do cover one routine eye exam per year and that this location was in-network. Eyeglass World stated they would only cover my visit unless it was medically related because my claim needed to be processed through my medical insurance, not a vision plan. Once again my insurance confirmed that yes that it is the way it is done and under my medical coverage I am eligible to an annual routine eye exam. No still not good enough, the employee that was there contacted apparently another employee named Gary who apparently confirmed it had to be for a medical reason my routine exam was not covered. Once again my insurance stated it is covered, I had the representative on the phone who said I'm looking at your coverage right now, you are entitled to one routine eye exam. Well after about one hour I went to Target Optical, where I should have gone in the first place. read more

In short, good eye exam, but they are scammers when it gets to marketing about frames. Frames are of unknown brands. They advertise for buy one get one free frame with basic lens included. I told them I only want the frames, and don't want the lenses done at their place (asked just to put transparent passive ones). The guy there jumped with a "Computer won't let us do that and you need to pay for each frame separately then". They were not the friendliest as well -not rude but not friendly. Worse service EVER! This one lady was so condescending. Was very rude when asked if they had a payment plan of some sort, asked me how much I had on me!!! Told me to come back when I have $108 with a superior tone in her voice. When my son finally picked out his frames, we were asked by another gentleman if we were being helped. She was busy with somebody else, so we said we were being helped by her, she then stood up and said " first of all, anybody can can help you out, and I wouldn't look at those, they are expensive!", pointing at the glasses we were looking at while patiently waiting! Eyeglass world saved me so much time AND money! When my contact Rx expired I decided to try somewhere new, knowing I wanted to buy a pair of glasses with my normal contact order. I called and within a minute I had an appointment for the next day. Upon arrival I was shortly in the chair then whisked through my exam and onto picking out frames. They had many pricing options which included not one but two sets of glasses. I ended up with two pairs for $99 and was told they would be ready in less than 2 hours. Since then there has been a high turnover on employees and managers but we have been loyal repeat customers due to the location and Dr. Stewart. In the last year this location has had a managerial change and now the manager is Trey. Trey goes out of his way to make sure he gets to know his customers and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the business. He is always willing to work with you with the items they carry, willing to order items, and is very fair with pricing. They don't inflate prices and every customer is treated with respect and kindness. The staff is incredibly patient and knowledgeable and allows us to make the best possible decisions regarding our vision. They have a large selection of glasses that are able to suit my entire family as well as contact fittings and eye tests. I always suggest this location to friends and family who need vision care and highly recommend eyeglass world to anyone looking for extraordinary and consistent vision care for years to come. I wanted to tell u about my HORRIBLE customer service experience at that the alafaya (waterford lakes) location. I first went about 6 weeks ago (I believe) after calling to ask if u guys did transition contacts. I was told yes. I get to the location and I am told no they can't order them. Fine. The dr a made special arrangement to get me some from her practice which I appreciate. I spend an hour looking for glasses because after sitting with the lady about my insurance she tells me if I want to use my 200 dollars from contacts that I could get half off a pair of glasses. Thought this was awesome but decided to wait because I was using new contacts and wanted to see it they lasted a month before ordering. So I picked out 3 glasses I liked so I would already know what I liked upon going back. She told me she would make a note on file of them. I go back about 4-5 weeks later and they can't find my contacts and the front people basically tell me I'm lying that the dr doesn't text because they don't have text system. I show them the text and 30 min later they find them. I go to ask if they can pull my glasses I picked out and they tell me there are no notes of what I liked on file! So I search they my car only to find out that she wrote it on the back of the business card and never told me! They pull 2 of the glasses and can't find the 3rd. Then they can't locate any insurance so they tell me there is no coverage which I know is false. I ask them to check the first company I told them again and she used my ssn and was able to find it. So I ask with the contact credit from insurance and half off glasses what would I be looking at. She then tells me after I'm already mad and blood pressure has risen that u can't use the insurance. U have to buy both using no insurance to get half off glasses. I got up and left. This is ridiculous and I should not be this upset over just getting glasses and contacts. The customer service and their lack of training is completely unacceptable! I will not be back nor would I ever recommend this place even tho I did to my coworkers after the first visit and told them the deal they had which was obviously a lie! As a matter of fact I would recommend anywhere else. I originally changed locations from east colonial. What a mistake.Then upon requesting the mgr. I am told she is out on vacation for a week. I went here today for a yearly eye exam in order to get new contacts. I had a perfect experience, literally couldn't get any better! The receptionist/cashier was super friendly and worked very efficiently. The Dr. was professional and straight to the point (which I appreciate because I am a very busy person) I was in and out in less than an hour. I am going to stay loyal to this location and doctor for a very long time, they won me over today. I have been using contacts and glasses for more than ten years, I know the routine, but this was by far the best experience I've ever had. Big thumbs up for Dr. Stewart and his staff!! This place always gives the worst service. No matter how many people are around they make you wait forever! Today I went to purchase my daughter's contacts because she wanted to wear them for her dad's funeral taking place at 4 pm. We walked in around 3:15 pm and I told the manager we wanted to purchase the contacts. The manager then proceeds to take three people that came in after me because he was in the frame section and not the check out line. I finally had to break down in tears because we were going to be late to the funeral. The manager then lies and says he had no idea I was waiting when I told him when I walked in.
