I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eye Health Texas, Dr. Pooja, Dr. Sashi, and their staff. Most importantly, they took the time to listen to us, understand what we had been through, and actually look for solutions. For three years, my husband Henry endured an incredibly frustrating and painful ordeal with his eyes. It began with dry eyes, and we sought treatment from specialists in our hometown of Amarillo. We were told he needed laser treatments, so he went through approximately five rounds, a month apart, none of which were covered by insurance. Unfortunately, he received no relief. He then underwent several treatments involving heat applied throughout his face. His face was extremely red afterward, the procedure was painful, and once again, it did not help. During all of this, Henry continued to tell his doctor that his eyes hurt terribly and that he could hardly keep them open. Yet we were repeatedly told that everything looked terrific. We eventually sought another opinion from a different, well-known eye specialist in Amarillo. Throughout that appointment, Henry could barely keep his eyes open because of the discomfort, but once again we were told that everything looked good. By this point, Henry had not driven in three years, and his employer had told him he needed to take time off work until his eye problems could be resolved. This was not simply an inconvenience--it had greatly affected his independence, his work, and his everyday quality of life. Then we went to Broom Optical, where Dr. Lisa O'Brien examined Henry. She wanted to investigate further because she saw something involving his cornea that others had not recognized. She referred us to Eye Health Texas in Plano. We made the trip to Plano with very little hope left. That is when everything began to change. Dr. Pooja sat down with Henry and genuinely listened as he explained what had been happening. While they were talking, she said something that surprised us: "I believe those contacts are too small." Who knew contacts came in sizes? We certainly didn't! Before she had even completed the full examination, she had Henry try a larger contact lens right there in her office. She initially went up three sizes, and almost immediately, Henry's eyes hurt less. After everything he had been through, it was unbelievable to see such a difference from something no one else had considered. She has since increased the size two more times, and on September 15, 2026, we left Eye Health Texas with Henry's newest set of contacts. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Pooja for listening, paying attention, and continuing to search for an answer when we felt as though no one else was truly hearing what Henry was telling them. And our gratitude to Eye Health Texas does not stop with Henry. While we were there for one of Henry's appointments about a year ago, Dr. Sashi also examined my eyes and told me that cataract surgery might be something I would need in the future. When we returned later, they found that my cataracts had progressed and it was time to take care of them. I am now only two weeks out from cataract surgery and have 20/20 vision again! After everything our family has experienced with eye care over the past three years, I cannot adequately express how grateful we are for the doctors and staff at Eye Health Texas. They listened to us, believed what Henry was telling them, paid attention to the details, and looked for solutions. Sometimes the most important thing a doctor can do is simply stop and truly listen to the patient. Dr. Pooja did that for Henry, and it changed his life. We drove from Amarillo to Plano looking for answers, and we found people who genuinely cared enough to keep looking for them. Thank you, Dr. Pooja, Dr. Sashi, and everyone at Eye Health Texas. Dr Allou is very sensitive to any negative reviews on social media platforms and rather than address issues with his staff, he'll cancel a planned procedure because of a negative review. I'd of removed the review had he asked, but his aloofness speaks volumes. He insists on Veterans using the pharmacy of HIS choosing, and not the VA Pharmacy. Honestly I just wanted to come on here and give EyeHealth Texas 5 Stars but now I want to address a review claiming that Dr. Shashi Alloju does not respect veterans. That could not be further from our experience. Dr. Alloju has cared for many veterans, including my own father, who recently had cataract surgery with him and is now seeing phenomenally. Our experience from start to finish was excellent. Dr. Alloju provided exceptional care, and the staff was equally wonderful. Cassie Camacho, in particular, went above and beyond to help facilitate everything and make the process seamless. Everyone is entitled to share their experience, but I do think credibility matters when making serious claims about a physician and their staff. When a review repeatedly gets the names of the very people being criticized incorrect, I think it's fair for readers to take the rest of the account with a grain of salt. I had cataract surgery and haven't been able to see very well since, actually saw better prior to surgery. When I went back post op, was charged even though it was supposed to be part of the surgical fee. When I asked about it, I was told that I had a "bump" on the "other eye", so it wasn't considered post surgical. When I tried to dispute the charges I was asked to reschedule my appointment. The lady at the front desk was very rude. I'm in shock frankly as I work for Baylor and have never been treated poorly at a Baylor facility in the past. read more

She also does a great job communicating any short and long-term issues a patient may encounter. I wasn't feeling the optometrist; she seemed uptight and her bedside manner was harsh. The ophthalmologist was very nice and had a great bedside manner. Even the tech was very nice. Maybe on my next appointment I won't have to se the optometrist or she'll have a better attitude. The end of my visit was weird, the doctor gave me his instructions and walked out. I recently relocated from out-of-state to Denton, TX. My eye problems are so severe and complicated, last year I was the subject of a podcast for ophthalmologists. I was referred to Dr. Pooja and didn't hesitate to make the long drive. Dr. Pooja is amazing! She quickly diagnosed a new problem and solved it, and also found a viable substitute when another prescription wasn't covered by my insurance. She listens and communicates very well. If I could give it no stars I would. The front desk is absolutely uninterested in what's going on with patients. Did they care I couldn't see out of one eye? Hell no!!! They sit there like we the patients are bothering them. I called to make an appointment due to vision loss in one eye. The young lady on the phone confirms my insurance and schedules my appointment. Cool right?!? Not cool. I leave work to go have this urgent matter taken care of and once I arrive at the office and start filling out paperwork I'm told you need a referral. Why didn't you say this before I drove all this way?? Instead of calling the doctor's office to get this info she cancels the appointment. This office is only concerned with making sure they get paid before caring for the patients. If this is still a Baylor facility shame on yall. You shouldn't have any connections with shady businesses that provide the necessary healthcare. I'm glad I dodged this bullet. It was a blessing in disguise. read more

The front desk employees were very nice and provided assistance in filling out one of their forms. My cataract surgeon (Dr. Alloju) did a wonderful job by allowing me to see the world through different eyes. Post operative follow up by Dr. Soha Rafi confirmed that my eyesight had been restored. Where I once had difficulty in reading a few characters on the second row from the top, I could now read all characters on the bottom row ! read more

DO NOT come here if you have vsp and want a vision/contact exam. They jack up the price of contact lens exam to $240. Even with insurance you still need to pay $65. Other places contact exams are only $75, so it should be fully covered and be free. What concerns me is the front desk, they try to make it sound like it's standard with a crappy attitude, it's not guys, don't get taken. read more

I am a patient of Dr Riddhi Gohel at EyeHealth Texas. Dr Riddhi Gohel, is the best Optometrist I have ever experienced. Nothing I can say really does justice to her treatment. She is an extremely intelligent, Compassionate and Caring Person, and a truly Outstanding Doctor. I am an older person who has experienced many years of eye examinations and eye procedures by several different Doctors, so I feel that I am qualified to comment on her abilities. I went in to Dr Gohel's office for a routine eye exam and after what I felt was a very through exam, consultation about my visual problems, and expressing my own visual expectations, she made suggestions and recommendations that allowed me to leave her office seeing well for the first time in many years. My eyes will never be perfect again, but she made a dramatic improvement in my vision. This was not all possible in just one visit, but her patience and expertise certainly was a huge benefit for me! If you are fortunate enough to see her, you will like her and see results that are good for you and your future eye health. The office staff is kind, experienced and helpful. The office is very clean and new. I strongly feel that Dr Gohel is an ideal Optometrist. She genuinely cares, is professional and makes an investment in the eye health and well being of her patients. She is a rare jewel in today's world! She cares about her patients and what she can do for her patients. (I was prescribed Scleral Contact Lens and no one has ever even suggested them to me before, Dr Gohel seemed to be very well qualified in fitting them. Had cataract surgery in both eyes by a very prominent McKinney ophthalmologist in August of 2016. Immediately, following surgery, I developed a severe case of "Dry Eye" Syndrome. From September, 2016 to December 2016,I suffered from redness& watery eyes, blurring vision, swollen outer corneas, a "grainy" feeling like something was in my eyes and pain. The ophthalmologist and the optometrist ran me "around for over 3 months" with no real treatment to address my problem, blamed me for developing "Dry Eye Syndrome, and made me feel like my case was untreatable with out eyelid surgery ! Someone referred to Dr. Shashi Alloju of Plano, who state he was the best ophthalmologist in the medical field. She was right! I was able to get an appointment with him in less than a week. The office staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. At my appointment, Dr. Alloju listen to my concerns and took immediate action. He measured my tear production in each eye, ordered a blood test to help eliminate or find the cause of my Dry Eye Syndrome, gave me a prescription for a "new" medication that deals with Dry Eye Syndrome(he also, provided samples to make sure the medication he prescribed was the right one) , but, more importantly, he gave me hope that he would be able to help make my eyes better and that he was willing to work with me!!!!! These are all the things the other eye doctors DID NOT do!!!!!!! As a result of Dr. Shashi Alloju's excellent observations and testing, I got the answers and help I needed. Within in one week in using the medication he prescribed, my eyes felt 80% better!!!!! My eyes no longer have that feeling of something being in my eyes and I am continuing to improve in terms of dryness, redness, and pain. My corneas are no longer swollen and overall, I seeing much clearer!!!!!!! Dr. Alloju found out the reason, I have "Dry Eye Syndrome through testing. It was good to know that it WAS NOT my fault!!!! Like his office staff, Dr. Shashi Alloju, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. He really seems to care about his patients, he listened to my concerns showed me a great of respect as a patient.
