For three years, my husband Henry endured an incredibly frustrating and painful ordeal with his eyes. It began with dry eyes, and we sought treatment from specialists in our hometown of Amarillo. We were told he needed laser treatments, so he went through approximately five rounds, a month apart, none of which were covered by insurance. Unfortunately, he received no relief. He then underwent several treatments involving heat applied throughout his face. His face was extremely red afterward, the procedure was painful, and once again, it did not help. During all of this, Henry continued to tell his doctor that his eyes hurt terribly and that he could hardly keep them open. Yet we were repeatedly told that everything looked terrific. We eventually sought another opinion from a different, well-known eye specialist in Amarillo. Throughout that appointment, Henry could barely keep his eyes open because of the discomfort, but once again we were told that everything looked good. By this point, Henry had not driven in three years, and his employer had told him he needed to take time off work until his eye problems could be resolved. This was not simply an inconvenience--it had greatly affected his independence, his work, and his everyday quality of life. Then we went to Broom Optical, where Dr. Lisa O'Brien examined Henry. She wanted to investigate further because she saw something involving his cornea that others had not recognized. She referred us to Eye Health Texas in Plano. We made the trip to Plano with very little hope left. That is when everything began to change. Dr. Pooja sat down with Henry and genuinely listened as he explained what had been happening. While they were talking, she said something that surprised us: "I believe those contacts are too small." Who knew contacts came in sizes? We certainly didn't! Before she had even completed the full examination, she had Henry try a larger contact lens right there in her office. She initially went up three sizes, and almost immediately, Henry's eyes hurt less. After everything he had been through, it was unbelievable to see such a difference from something no one else had considered. She has since increased the size two more times, and on September 15, 2026, we left Eye Health Texas with Henry's newest set of contacts. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Pooja for listening, paying attention, and continuing to search for an answer when we felt as though no one else was truly hearing what Henry was telling them. And our gratitude to Eye Health Texas does not stop with Henry. While we were there for one of Henry's appointments about a year ago, Dr. Sashi also examined my eyes and told me that cataract surgery might be something I would need in the future. When we returned later, they found that my cataracts had progressed and it was time to take care of them. I am now only two weeks out from cataract surgery and have 20/20 vision again! After everything our family has experienced with eye care over the past three years, I cannot adequately express how grateful we are for the doctors and staff at Eye Health Texas. They listened to us, believed what Henry was telling them, paid attention to the details, and looked for solutions. Sometimes the most important thing a doctor can do is simply stop and truly listen to the patient. Dr. Pooja did that for Henry, and it changed his life. A cautionary tale…read more I liked Dr Dennis Goldsberrry. Great bedside manner. I have had poor vision for years. Got RK 20 years ago. Came to Dr Goldsberrry for an exam.Cataract surgery was recommended. I elected to have it. I chose the upgrade lens. Procedure went great.... At first. Called a week later and said "I don't think this feels right ". His tech assistant said to me via text: "Hi Gary I got your voice mail. You are still healing and going to have fluctuation with the vision. Please make sure you are using lots of artificial tears throughout the day and using the steroid drops as directed. As long as you are not in any pain and not seeing any big floaters or flashes you should be ok to wait until the next post- op appointment. We will measure your vision then." When I went back for a 30 day post surgery visit. I learned to my horror, I had a detached Retina. A detached Retina Requires a whole new surgery. Still not sure of my vision outcome. Dr Goldsberrry got me an appointment with a Retina specialist pronto. However, I said "Dr I called your office for help" 3 weeks ago His response was basically oh well. Total cold fish. My vision may be ruined forever. Too bad So sad was the attitude I felt when learning my retina had become detached post surgery For over three weeks my retina was detached and undetected- and could lead to permanent eye damage . to this day, I've heard not a word about his concerns for my eye. I thought he would've called to follow up. He has shown zero concern or empathy for my condition. Message to all patients. Be your own advocate. If it feels wrong to you it's wrong! Both hubby and I have had cataract surgery performed by her (at her previous practice) and just love how she connects with her patients. She is an expert surgeon and takes the time to really explain all options and answer all questions. She is so approachable and we look always look forward to our appointments with her. The staff is equally as friendly and welcoming. Her new practice is inside the medical building next to the old Richardson hospital located on Campbell Rd near Collins Rd. Address is 399 W. Campbell Rd. She's located on the 4th floor. The office is beautifully decorated with a white textured wall at the reception area and with a predominantly blue color palette. Very soothing, with pops of orange color in the artwork and accents. We both are thrilled with results of our Pan Optic cataract lenses. We also both required a follow up procedure due to the uniqueness of our eyes. I needed a Yag procedure a few years ago and hubby needed his lenses polished post cataract. She even explained that the surface of his eye was similar to a raisin and needed to be polished to smooth it out. Now that's down to earth language that we can understand! He treated me the best he could, and when I went to the pharmacy I saw that Dr. Moon had prescribed a tube of Clobetasol with one refill. This is truly a doctor who wants to keep his patients as comfortable as possible, its hard to find a doctor who cares so much, I am so lucky to have Dr. Moon III as my PCP.
