I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I got a new pair of glasses here, but the prescription is completely off. I can't see anything clearly, and it's actually giving me a headache. We used to get our glasses here maybe once every two years. Last two experiences have been very disappointing. We live far and went there because it is close to our hotel. They used to get the glasses done in a few days and we would pick it up before we leave LA. Now, it takes maybe a week for them to complete. Therefore, we got the completed glasses shipped to our house. I'm okay with waiting if it comes out correctly. My mom got two lenses put into two different frames. She kept complaining that they made her dizzy and couldn't wear them. We recently went to Korea and got the lenses replaced. We found out the prescription was not only incorrect ,but the focal point for her eyes were at the upper part of the frame (not where her eyes are). The new lenses from Korea are great! I also went there recently (before our trip to Korea) for new lenses and ended up just walking out. Service has gone down, craftsmanship has gone down and prices went up. I don't recommend anyone get their glasses done here and waste your money. read more

Mr. Kim has been my optician since grade school. My family has followed him from when he was at Koreatown Plaza to when he opened up Eyeland Optical at the mall on Wilshire Blvd. Now he is permanently situated at City Center on 6th street! I've never picked out my frames. Mr. Kim would pick the perfect frames for my face shape and I always receive compliments from my friends and even from strangers. I just got a new pair of sunglasses and when it was ready, I brought in my other frames that he adjusted for me! You can tell that Mr. Kim loves his craft and he takes pride doing what he does. I usually end up staying for a bit because we'll just catch up on life and everything in between! It's really nice to know that you can visit Eyeland Optical and feel right at home. In addition, you won't find a better selection of all types of glasses for you! There is also an optometrist on site so you can get your eyes checked out. I believe the optometrist is there until 3 PM but do call and schedule an appointment if you need to be seen by one. Otherwise, definitely go visit Mr. Kim at Eyeland Optical and have him pick out the perfect glasses for you! Oh and he does take insurance! So we've been going to this same guy since when he was working at the one inside ktown plaza. This one I believe is him and his wife, and they are the nicest people ever! They help you find what you're looking for, pretty straight forward. They have a pretty good selection for what appears to be a small shop. I was around the area and came here on a whim around Saturday afternoon hoping if they had time for an eye exam. Luckily, they immediately sat me down and went to work! The optometrist did an in-depth exam on my eyes and gave me a few samples to use for my extremely dry eyes. The man who helped me after (I wish I knew his name!) was so helpful and nice! He suggested that I should probably get glasses to wear instead of my contacts all the time. I was a little hesitant if I wanted to get one that day but he wasn't pushy at all and told me to just look around and think about it next time I come back. They have a large selection of major designer glasses and sunglasses as well as more affordable ones. I came back the other day to get a pair of prescription glasses and everyone there was so sweet and even helped me choose one that looks best for my face. I ended up getting one and I cannot wait for them to be shipped home to me! Their prices are REALLY reasonable. I will definitely be coming back here for my annual exams. read more

This place is meh. My partner and I came here though I usually go to Optikos because there was a power outage and I was too impatient. I called ahead and asked if we could come in for an eye exam in 10 minutes or so and the guy told us yes. When we got there we waited for about half an hour because the optometrist was busy with someone else which was still OK since we gave very short notice and we browsed for frames. Their frames are imported from Korea which I appreciate since it tends to fit the "no nose bridge Asian face" quite comfortably and Korean frames are well made and super light. We chose a few frames and also the lenses to go with it, I thought the prices were pretty fair and this place would have been a 4 star place if not for the pointed comment from the sales guy at my glasses. I wear glasses and made a comment about how I loved them to my partner and the sales guy overheard and asked where I had gotten my frames from and I told him Korea. He then asked me how much I paid and when I told him about $70 Korean Won and he smirked and told me like I was an idiot, "yeah you were definitely cheated, yours are worth $30 max" which I thought was unnecessary and pointless. Unless he wanted to exert some sort of authority over something that was completely irrelevant to him? I can't walk into a glasses store wearing glasses without getting unwarranted condescending comments? Really really a turnoff. We got 2 pairs, and the "cheapest" frames range from $40-80 and on top, lenses are 40-80-100 I believe for regular, coated, and computer ray blocking thing. Each pair came out to about $150. Overall, I would have been pleased but the guy was rude, so meh. read more

Yelp HQ! Please do not delete my review! The consumers and government agencies must know about the insurance frauds that is happening here! I visited Eyeland for pair of glasses with a year old prescription. Eyeland Optical claimed eye exams to my insurance which I did not get at the time. I found out that they had falsely claimed the exams as my insurance company called me to verify. I called Eyeland Optics and the manager says that they falsely claim the exams so insurer can get extra money and they say it's their "customer service." They said they "help" their customers to get extra money from the insurance claims. This is insurance fraud! Eyeland stated that all they had to do is call the insurance company and say that they made a mistake on the claim, but this incident caused me to be kicked out from my vision insurance. Eyeland does not take the responsibility from their fraud actions. read more

We walked in on a Saturday and we didn't wait long. The eye doctor was super nice and gentle. I got an eye exam and contact exam. She also gave me samples of contact lenses. There's a $100 deal for eye exam, prescription lens, and frame (mostly plastic). For me, I wanted to get circular metal frames which costly $20 more. So I got my glasses for $120 and got 6 months color contact lenses for $120 so a total of $240. They basically didn't charge me for the contact exam! Joseph and Kenny were super friendly and nice. They gave me some color contact sample lenses too! I checked out Eye Max before Eyeland, and Eye Max was not as welcoming and nice as they were. Eye Max was meh and kinda old. Eyeland was clean and had great service! I'd definitely recommend and come again. read more

I called to make a same day appointment, they told me I could just go ahead and show up today. I needed new contacts and a new prescription as soon as possible because I am heading to New York for the nyc marathon and did not want to run with glasses on. The doctor was amazing and the staff was really welcoming and friendly. She even gave me several samples for my night runs and early morning runs to try. She switched me to a different brand of contacts and so far they're everything she promised. My parents have been long time clients of Eyeland Optical situated in Koreatown. As I rarely have business to do in Wilshire Center, I wasn't aware of who their preferred opticians were. I already had a prescription completed with my primary optometry, but wanted to take some time to find the right eye wear that are designed to fit my face and nose bridge due to my ethnic background. I initially was planning to move forward with Warper Parker, but I made a visit to Eyeland Optical to see what they offered since I really liked the glasses that my parents recently upgraded to. To my surprise they had a nice array of eye wear to choose from, and most particularly frames that are designed for the 'Asian fit'. The optician that assisted me gave me several to try one; I usually aim for the plastic square look, however he handed me a subtle plastic round fit with the 'Asian fit' design and they were the perfect ones. I kept trying on a few more that looked like that one, but I kept gravitating towards the Kio Yomato that just happened to suit me the best. They also said they will ship my glasses once they are ready! Talk about convenience! Overall, I am pleased with my visit to Eyeland Optical and look forward to wearing my new glasses! read more

This place is owned/run by an optician my parents had been going to for years at another store - they followed him over when he started out on his own, because he's really good. Like, today I walked in to get a new pair of frames; I wasn't sure if I wanted to stick with a safe pair of the same old kind (metal rounded ovals), or to try something new. But he picked out an angular, plastic-framed pair of Calvin Kleins for me in about five seconds, and I was immediately enamored. He picked out more frames, but I was happiest with the first one. The folks there are nice, and fast (my glasses were ready in less than an hour), and they have a pretty large selection of designer frames. Owner Mr. Ted Kim is a miracle worker, specialties in fitting the no-nose-bridge issue that asian facial bone structure. he's been my optometrist since I was a young student in school. He used to be with Ktown chain Italee Optometry but now he's the big boss man at his own business. He's great at fixing your nose pieces to fit your face in 1 try. he'll also help you pick out a frame to fit your face, no joke. I am very picky about my glasses but after he sees a few of the frames you've picked out he seems to know what you're looking for before you do. He is easy to work with and does his best to work with your insurance. Speaking of nose pads: If you have a pair of those plastic rimmed glasses and they keep slippin down your no-bridged-asian nose, then go in and they can work magic and install some-- make it look like it was there all along! I broke my precious Dita frames at an Irish pub in New York. They fell to the floor. I stepped on them. I may have had one too many whiskys. But let's not blame the booze. The left temple snapped off. The screws were bent. The holes were a mess. The glasses were pretty bad too. I thought I was doomed because I really love these frames, and I recently had transitional lenses put in. Fortunately, there's Mr. Kim. If anyone can fix them, he can. I first walked into Eyeland Optical over 6 years ago, received an eye exam and purchased 2 pair of T2 Swiss glasses. Over 2 yrs later when I broke the nose bridge to one pair, they repaired it on the spot and refused my money. I returned this month to have another eye exam and have my lenses updated. I have had to return for minor adjustments and every time they were apologetic for my inconvenience, now both pair of my glasses are perfect. Went in to see if they could install nose pads on to my Ray-Ban sunglasses. I had called around and other places had quoted me $40-50 to install them. They were able to do it in an hour and only for $20! While I was waiting to pick it up they also offered to clean the glasses that I was wearing. Jeez such friendly and great service!
