Great experience at Eyetailor. Sung repaired two pairs of glasses in about 10 minutes. A lens fell out of one pair and both had slightly bent arms. I bought my son a pair of Spy sunglasses and my mistake was not getting him a hard case. He left them inside his backpack and some kid stepped on it. One of the hinges was broken. He was the only one who was able to help guide me in finding my correct prescription when LensCrafters gave me bad information. He wasn't able to give me the glasses same day, as I came in late Sunday before Labor day. However, he was able to ship me my glasses at no additional cost to me. I have very thick lenses, but he was able to bevel the lenses enough so that the protrusion was not so obvious. The packaging was done with care as well. Right away I was greeted by Mr. Kim and he was cordial, knowledgable and most importantly, he was very helpful. I'd had my eye on this shop for a while, given the positive reviews, and I finally decided it was time to get myself some new glasses. I stopped in and browsed a bit to get an idea of the selection and pricing. Sung was friendly and helpful without being at all pushy. He made some good suggestions for frames that would be flattering, and also was very knowledgeable about the frames and lenses. There was a good selection of frames (Bevel, Mykita, l. a. Eyeworks, Starck, Paul Smith, etc.). I also dropped by a shop near my office that was said to have a good selection of frames and did some comparison shopping. Sure enough, as other reviewers have noted, Sung has very competitive pricing. That's not to say his frames are inexpensive, but he has high quality designer frames for much better prices than this other shop I checked, and his price on lenses was much better too despite the fact that the other shop actually accepts my vision insurance and so gives me a discount from their regular prices. I took pictures of myself in different frames at Eyetailor so that I could ask my family their opinion, and we agreed on a pair of frames. I dropped off my order and picked it up a week later (they only took a few days to make the lenses). This was the first time that frames were completely comfortable and well-fitting without any adjustments, although I asked him to make a minor adjustment around the ear. Maybe buying a Japanese frame gave me a better initial fit--the optician usually has a heck of a time adjusting the nosepads enough to make them comfortable for my Asian nose. Great selection of designer frames, great pricing, great service, and even open extended hours 7 days/week! Highly recommended. I was looking for a store that can get my new glasses nose pats. I tried a couple of places in LA but they all told me that nose pats will be metal made and it would make the look bad. So, I searched more stores on yelp and thought I can try this store after reading though people's stories. When I asked for nose pats, the owner looked at my glasses and simply said to me that I can pick it up tomorrow without any negative comments like other stores. I've been going to Eyetailor for over 5 years now and this is simply as good as it gets. I've purchased frames in the showroom as well as brought in at least 4 frames I already owned, both new and vintage, and had prescription lenses made. Sung does an incredible job. Perfect workmanship, very fast turnaround, and excellent customer service/communication. He can also send out any optical frame to get a clip-on shade/sunglasses made that will match the frame perfectly. Lenses alone usually take about 2-3 days, and getting a clip-on made takes about a week. Once the lenses are made, he makes sure the frame fits you properly. I recently had to bring a frame back to him TWICE after the initial fitting to get it just right, and he spent considerable time making it perfect, even slightly filing down the arms of the frame at the hinge so they opened a little wider. On top of this, it was a frame I bought elsewhere. He refused to charge me for the work. I couldn't believe it. Prices are the most reasonable I've found, and the quality of the work and amount of frames available is second to none. He also plays very pleasant classical music in the shop and creates an atmosphere where one feels very comfortable in trying frames and asking questions.
