For the life of me, I can't understand some of the horrible comments customers have made about the Eyemart Express on Carlisle. Because I have extremely sensitive eyes, I find it very hard to get my eyeglasses to fit correctly. The folks at this location -- and Kat in particular -- have been nothing but helpful. Kat even came in to work on her day off to help me, since I drive from out of town to shop in ABQ. In my opinion, you will never find a more caring individual than she is. And, in the past, I've also had Richard help me, and he showed the same sort of caring attitude. You just seldom find people this nice in the world of retail business. Kudos to these folks! I went to Eyemart Express for the first time Wednesday, 15 November 2017 in the late morning or early afternoon. I did not get an eye exam as I had a prescription from my ophthalmologist after having had cataract surgery in both eyes. I selected a frame for $99.95 (the frames here start at about $38), and they made the glasses on site. Total bill was $234.85, of which I paid $34.85. The rest was covered by my very comprehensive medicare advantage policy, which I have by virtue of the fact that I am a State of Illinois retiree (I was a career public aid caseworker for 31 years). I would have given this place 5 stars but for the fact that they sent me a text message saying my glasses had been built in 19 minutes, so I crossed the room to the front counter, and it took another 15 minutes before they were really ready. One of the employees (I didn't take names) was very uncommunicative, but others were apologetic and attributed the delay to computer problems and a final quality control check. The glasses were perfect and fit well and my vision is restored to its maximum potential. The whole process took about an hour. read more

... I've been going toEYEMART Express for 15 years, more; also, next door to Visualize; recently after going elsewhere. I came back again[] these guys rock! I develop a cataract and came back to both places to get the best corrected vision before surgery!.. Normally there's weeks and months between the procedures.-What was fun- and amazing after the surgery I had my eyes rechecked and they issued me new lenses at no cost; no cost! In a few weeks later I had checked again- that's what they issued me new lenses again no cost[] these guys rock! The story is not over there, but this is as good as it gets- with an appointment at Visualize- go next door get your eyeglasses- in my case the same day; when you're under stress- in your main source of input comes from the world as eyesight[] doesn't get any better than the combination of these two places Bruno George.. Eyemart is inexpensive but the staff is incredibly rude and completely lacks any knowledge of customer service. What you save on your glasses is not worth the frustration. read more

its a chain and you get what you'd expect from one. They messed up my order and on 1st visit after i said GIVE ME ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES they missed one whistle :( I did pitch a bitch and they are attempting to fix it! read more

Traveling through town and stepped on my glasses. Found these guys online and took a chance that they could fix them, or at least make them wearable so I could finish our trip with clear vision. The lady there did a wonderful job fixing them and now they are perfect. She even made sure they were properly adjusted on my face. All this on a Saturday!! We read reviews on eyemart Express on Carlisle. I called ahead and ask more questions and they didn't tell me how they do business. I was told that it would take one hour once we placed our order. When we got there at eyemart express we gave the front desk our prescription. We ask which frames were the ones that were two for $79.00. We looked at the frames but noticed the different prices on the frames. We found a frame and sat down with the associate and placed the order. We were surprised by the their package. Not near the price we were expecting to pay. Frame and lens were separated prices. Then the extras were explained, charge for protective lenses and the "Package Warranty". We couldn't afford all the bells and whistles. Our total amount for one pair of glasses was $171.04. That was a far fetch from the advertising for the so called 2 for $79.00. That is clear false advertising folks. The glasses were ready in 2.5 hours. Never will we do business with deceiving advertising. read more

Very expensive. Rude staff obviously on commission and pressuring for the highest sale price. Long wait. I ended up at another optical place and got comparable frames and lenses for $115 instead of the $238 that Eyemart Express quoted me. read more

Low prices, staff was friendly. My glasses were ready in 20 minutes.They also carry ray ban sunglasses.The store is super busy so there is a little wait. read more
