Eye exam team is AWESOME!! Evening shift only- after 5 pm. Monica was super helpful as well as other woman who did the exam on a Saturday. Would not recommend Alex Sanchez day shift. He was indifferent when I requested an adjustment to my glasses. He said it looks fine and it did not feel right but I had another appointment and had to leave. It wasn't about how it looked, it was about how it felt. I returned about 6 pm and received better service! I got the adjustment I needed and the eyewear feels great now. read more

Stanton optical is not a place to go if you want high quality glasses to professional help. Making online appointment is easy plenty of slots open. Arriving to appointment was okay parking lot are very narrow. No nobody greeted us went straight to the back where I saw a receptionist. Checked in and it gone down hill the receptionist asked I am out of network as I am a VSP and they will honor my insurance but I had to call VSP to email my insurance benefits. It got complicated but I just showed my insurance online to manger. Also I called VSP and they informed me, they don't email providers nor talk to third party. One of the receptionist over spoke to her coworker who was working with me which was unprofessional they had no idea what they ask of me to guiding me what I need. The receptionist could not resolve my insurance that immediately asked to do my exam. I was unease if my insurance was good to go because I thought I had to pay out pocket. Completed exams and there was no real person doing exam it was a doctor working remotely I felt he didn't get accurate results to give me a prescription of my eye exam. Nevertheless I don't think it's worth going but we will see the result when's I receive my eye glass within two weeks. Lesson learned stay within your network. read more

I had an exam and purchased the buy one get one free eyeglass deal in June of 2024. By January 2025, the primary pair began to have chipping on the right temple which causes abrasions and inflammation on my skin. The "free" pair not only had standard lenses, but the right lens cracked when the frame dropped! The remote technician exam was very accurate, but the materials are CRAP. Buy one quality pair somewhere else! Never again! read more

this place is so slow. I had a appointment @2:00 and I didn't get seen until 3:30 the workers here don't know what they are doing and no one is good at customer service. I had to tell them how long I was waiting and after they said I was next it still took them awhile to call me back. Also never had a manager come out to apologize. read more

Overall, the worst experience possible. Ordered glasses, took weeks to arrive, wrong prescription. Sent them back, weeks later no response to my calls . I finally called my credit card, who went into action. Two months from date of order got a message my glasses were ready! Went down, they had only the lenses, which were ( again) the wrong prescription! I called my credit card from the Stanton office and they said Stanton had finally refunded my money almost 1 1/2:weeks before ...why did they text o say my glasses were ready?? Our experience was very bad: a long wait, then no actual doctor present but some guy on a TV screen. Two weeks later when we returned for the glasses the prescription was not even close to correct. We left without them. Stanton refuses to refund the eye exam cost. We went to a more reputable business who had a actual doctor doing the exams. He said he sees patients every day who got their glasses from Stanton and hate them. He also said that what Stanton is doing (remote exams) is illegal and that they pay a fine every day. We have file a complaint with the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department . Do yourself a favor and stay away from here. read more

Terrible customer service. Told the young woman that I have VSP insurance--they only need limited information from me, but insisted I log in to my account. I couldn't. They said I had to. Went to LensCrafters and only wanted my DOB and last 4 SSN for my insurance. They are getting my business. I recommend you don't go to Stanton Optical. *Update*: After my review, I received an offer from Stanton to contact them and make things right. I'll pass. I know bad service when I see it. Had an appointment for a certain time and there's already 7 people in front of me for eye exams--you want me to wait an hour after the time I made an appointment? I didn't need glasses until recently--and last year visited another place just like Stanton. Bad experience and I should have learned. The experience this week at Stanton Optical *confirmed* that I will never again visit a "discount" chain...and check reviews before going to any place. Terrible service at Stanton. If you really wanted to make things right, you'd have fixed your customer service issues years ago after the first 100 complaints. You don't want to. You want to offend a percentage of customers in order to make enough profit on the ones that put up with bad service. I even called my insurance (VSP) when I was at the Stanton appointment, after the young woman asked me to log into my account. However VSP told me, "You only need to tell them you have VSP" and provide some basic demographic info. I told the Stanton worker that. "No, you need to log into your account," she said. I left in disgust and the next eyeglass store treated me much better. Stanton on this forum wants to "discuss your experience further" by calling them. Lying scam artists with a rude and impatient eye doctor. When we called, they told us they had same day service for glasses, and in the store they told we were getting a buy one get one free special on glasses. They didn't honor any of this, giving us only one pair of frames when we were given the impression that we were ordering to, and when there was signage throughout the store advertising the buy one get one free deal. Then they said the glasses weren't going to be ready until Monday -- until we laid into them, and they managed to get them by Friday, the day after I got the eye exam and placed the order. Additionally, the eye doctor was very impatient with me in the "1 or 2" section of the eye exam. I have ADHD and autism, and sometimes I can't remember exactly how clear it was in the previous lens, thus needing to see it again -- but she had no patience for the fact that I wasn't getting it the first time. Stay away from this place. The people who worked inside were polite enough when we went in the first time, but it's obvious this place is happy to screw people over if they think they can get away with it. I came in just for an inquiry for glasses and an eye exam, I was attended quickly and I was set up with an appointment!!!! A sale associate with a pink shirt explained the pricing and the deals they had. Place was friendly and clean, as a person from Texas I would definitely recommend this location. This review went from 5 starts to 1 review because of the fact that I had to go back 3 times to this establishment for my glasses and each time something was wrong with my glasses. Brian and his assistant manager gave so many promises that they would fix the issue and even throw in additional perks such as the lenses to my glasses being even despite the great stigmatism on my left eye. Brian promise my lenses for my left eye would not be bulky and initially it was not on the first two sets of glasses they had sent to be made but were sent back because my pupil sits higher than most folks. Then this last time the left eye glass was bigger in size and they told me it was because of my prescription and that they could not fix it. Which was a lie because the first two frames had both lenses were the same size. The assistant manager had said she would add more visual assistant on the lenses for the night and that was not the case. I had told Brian I had lost my left contact sample and he had told me two weeks ago he would throw in another sample for the inconvenience. Today I went in and my glasses again were made incorrectly and left eye blurry. I asked for my refund to be applied for glasses and they said they could not do that and they would be refunding me but charging me for my exam exam. My eye exam was suppose to be free because they prescription was originally written incorrectly by the Stanton in Farmington. All in all management here do not keep their promises and can uphold their promises to customers. After a month I have no glasses. Save yourselves a headache and your precious time and avoid this establishment. read more

I'm very unhappy with my prescription. I was desperate to get one when I accidentally broke my last contact lens. I should have just waited and gone to a better place because now I'm probably out like around $400. I need to go somewhere else and get a new prescription. My vision is just slightly off. I think it's because I felt like I was rushed through the experience. You don't get a real in-person eye doctor, they just sit you infront of someone tele-docting from India which is kind of a crappy experience. They were nice and I have nothing against hard working Indians but at the end of the day I did get a bad prescription from them. read more

Do not waste your time or money to go here! They're so rude and not helpful or explain anything that is going on. Went to get an exam for contacts for the first time in my 55yrs of life, and after all the BS, they stick me in a room with poor lighting and a mat explain how to put them on and take them off! No human help! Then go to pay, and explaining to the manager Alex Sanchez, that my left contact keeps moving around and I can't see through it like I can my right one. He says, it takes awhile to get use to them and for them to conform?? Huh?? And then tells me my total and that I have a referral because my pressure is high in my eyes, still don't know what that's all about?? Then get home and take contacts out and use old glasses to read over paperwork, and my referral is blank, have no idea what kind of Dr I'm suppose to go to or who?? Very disappointed! I'm calling my insurance and asking them to cancel that eye exam, so I can go to a real Dr. and one who cares and will take the time to help and show how to put contacts in to a beginner. read more

Even if you bought your frames here previously, they still charge you a $20 fee for using your "own" lenses to get a new prescription lens put in. It's a joke. No loyalty to customers. The sales people have NO IDEA what they are talking about. And the optometrist was done on a tv. No one was in the room. And no one could explain my results to me from the other tests I did. Expect to pay a minimum of $200 PER GLASSES SET OF LENSES even they are YOUR lenses. And that is just the middle of the road pair. Will not be coming here again. read more

It was super easy to make my appt and I even had to change it. They were nice and easy to talk too. It was weird having my eye doctor give me my exam from who knows where. But it was just as good as if he was in the room with me. Lots of back ground noise but it wasn't in the way to much. My glasses were ready in like 30 mins and I walked out with two pair. I'd give this place Zero star if possible. They have a decent selection of frames and reasonably priced that I was able to check out yesterday so I made an eye exam appointment. Yes, I need glasses so why not? I was surprised we (hubs and I) got a next day appointment. Today we got there 30 minutes early, figuring we had paperwork to fill out (we did) and waited. My other half had questions that the employee didn't answer she said the next person would. Hmmmm For forty five minutes past my Husband's appointment and noone was back with us and other patients checking in folks, bad sign. Finally one patient came out and another employee also. Two of us waiting there waited so we could ask how muck longer. The gentleman ahead of us was mad and canceled his appointment. While the employee (male) said he understood our concern but honestly didn't sound genuine. After some prodding/questioning he finally told me that they got a new machine that they were using today for pre-tests and they were behind. Sure, but at least let the folks checking in know your really far behind. That's only fair. I mean we all have other things to do besides waiting in an office for over an hour for an eye exam. I know they have frames and lenses to sell but I missed another appointment waiting for them to come back to the desk. The other employees in the showroom where too busy to help and just referred me back to the other area. I just packed up my stuff and told him cancel both our appointments. Then they have a out of the country call center and you can't talk to anyone at the location you made the appointment!! Manager was not helpful either! I don't recommend this place.
