Then they charged me $125. I was surprised by that because it was quick for them and they didn't have to do any physical labor or install parts. It didn't really take two men! I haven't used it yet and don't know if it's improved but they said they adjusted it to be right. Oh, and second, when I inquired about balancing the refrigerator, I was told I have too much food in there! I'm a senior but not that gullible. I think they take advantage. My refrigerator was not getting cold in the bottom so I took it to them to see if it could be…read moresaved. I brought it in and they checked it for free. They told me it needed a new cold control. I paid $75 for the parts and labor and picked up my fridge the next day. It came with a 30 day warranty. When I brought it home I noticed that even on the lowest setting it was now freezing everything in the bottom. I took it back up there and they changed the cold control for free. They had it from Saturday to Friday (ugh ... a bit too long for my taste) but they did it for no extra charge. They updated me by phone the whole week that it was there. I'm talking about the store on State that's south of Florida next to the kung fu place and the billiards place. When I paid, they told me that they did take credit/debit cards but the only one that could run the card was the owner and he wasn't there.

I had another technician come out and quoted 300.00 for a new board. Adam determined it was a broken wire which he found and repaired saving me a lot of money. To my horror, the reason the dryer was burning so hot and melting things was because the previous owners had used a gas dryer for propane hook up without the proper conversion kit. Why this wasn't caught during the home inspection I don't know. Anyway, it was therefore not covered under the homeowner appliance warranty. Luckily AJ's had several refurbished dryers that I could buy for $250 so I was able to get a much nicer near commercial size dryer instead and it was installed for free.

We bought scratch and dent from Lowe's outlet, not knowing they wouldn't be able to do a conversion to propane and that the kit was not available locally. I had the kit overnighted and after calling around everywhere, I reached a really helpful person at Don's who said they could have someone out almost immediately. Before getting into the conversion and installation, Anthony identified and corrected some damage, which made the dryer so much quieter. After finishing the work, he walked me through an issue the dryer was having, explaining impact on our use, possible root causes, and what the process would look like ahead if we were to return it. While it's not ideal that the machine has unexpected issues, it has been such a relief to work with someone so competent and willing to share their knowledge. Whatever we end up doing with our dryer, or any other appliance, I feel way more informed and prepared with Don's on my side.

When Cris was here onsite, he was professional, polite, and respectful to me. Careful, and cleaned up any mess made. Cris also does appliance repair which I did not need at this time.
