I'm super picky about who does my hair. EZ cut is one of the very few places I would willingly go for cut/highlights. Carmen has done my roots/highlights/trim the past few times and I have no complaints. I have a hard time stickin to one salon because a. They end up burning my hair. b. They don't listen when I say 2 inches for my cut. I asked for a TRIM...I shouldn't leave with a soccer mom hair cut. I came here about a month ago on like a Thursday afternoon. There was no one in there, but for some reason, it seemed like the hair stylist was in a rush. She wet my hair, proceeded to cut it after I told her I wanted the sides and back trimmed and faded. Mind you, I hadn't had my hair cut in like a month so it was pretty overgrown, but still manageable. After finishing up she left it wet, didn't blow dry it, no product, and I was off. When I got home, I noticed instead of fading the sides and back, she basically gave me a bowl cut around the sides! I'm very glad that I did not tip her, and no, I won't be back. "Do whatever you want with my hair." Let me frame this review properly: I live in Sylmar, this spot is in Glendale. I'm coming back to them. I usually shave my head on my own or grow it out. I'm getting haircuts from them from now on. I haven't had my hair cut in 6 months and when I finally decided to cut it I stumbled here because it was the highest rated salon that was nearest the Glendale Galleria. The moment I sat down, I told Carmen, "do whatever you want with my hair." and instead of getting another fade, she styled and cut my hair to something that I actually like looking at. I can gel my hair a bunch of ways and it still looks good. Shaving my head is going to have to take a back seat for now because I love this hair. So, about 2 months ago, I went in for my normal haircut and was told that Gina up and left without any notice. I noticed that my last haircut from Gina was not as good and left a lot to be desired and Carmen had mentioned that she was acting weird for the past several weeks. My thick hair and commitment issues make haircuts a bit of an ordeal, but I think I may have found "the one". I've visited dozens of stylists and they never fail to comment on how thick my hair is. They run their fingers through it, lifting it to the light and then letting it fall; saying it's so nice; so beautiful, and healthy. Then, after battling it with scissors for over an hour, tired and up to their heels in the stuff, they become silent after exhausting all possible points of conversation. For me, even a salon/stylist with hundreds of high reviews could still be hit or miss. That being said, I am super happy I gave this place a shot! Booking an appointment with Carmen was a breeze. I called. She answered and gave me a slot for later that same day. I showed up on time, gave her a few pictures of the cut I wanted, and she got straight to work. I've never been in and out of a salon in less time! In about forty minutes, Carmen cut my hair and styled it perfectly. She was fast but knew what she was doing, paying attention to detail with my bangs and always checking that my layers were at the right length all around. I love the cut I got here- she helped take a lot of weight off my hair and my layers still look great after almost three months. You know it's a great cut when it requires little to no fixing months later. I will be booking my next appointment with Carmen, and maybe going for something a little more dramatic. I figure she will either do a great job with it, or give sage advice on what else would work for me. Either way she has my trust! EZ Cut is also really affordable. Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally found a place to get a great haircut at a reasonable price. I don't do anything complex to my hair. No highlights, low lights, pixie or The Rachel which are great styles for those that can pull them off. I cannot whatsoever. Long layers is the extent of my hair adventures. Thanks to previous Yelpers here who wrote such outstanding reviews, I took a chance on EZ Cut and was so glad I did! I'm a stay-at-home mom and have twin preschoolers, and consequently, my fancy pricey haircuts have gone by the wayside. I became a bargain hair salon searcher but never found anything other than the usual suspects (Super Cuts, etc.) and was usually pretty disappointed. Fast foward to my visit to Karmen, who not only took great care to make sure my cut and style were right on and that I was happy, but she was gracious and warm and her shop is beautiful -- that was all fabulous, but most fabulous was her price was SO reasonable! My family went on vacation a few weeks later and I sent in my husband and my kids and she took care of them as well. Our family is hooked! Parking in the back (easy to miss with a small drive in) Sometimes you just want to get a hair cut but don't want to pay for all the extra things like a shampoo/condition or a complete styling at the end (which jacks up the price to nearly $60), especially if you don't plan on going anywhere special and just need a cut to keep hair healthy etc. Although, they do blow dry your hair after the cut to show you the overall style. We came here because it was well reviewed, and came back because they made us look good. I am utterly clueless about what I want with my hair, but I know when it looks good and when it looks bad, and somehow they can interpret my "uh... shorter?" into a good-looking hair cut. Came here because of the high reviews. Karmen cut my hair and didn't wash it. She said it was extra for wash and blow dry. She just sprayed my hair with water. The cut was fine and she evened out the length. She noticed my hair was uneven, which is the reason I went for the cut. Overall, I didn't feel pampered. I guess I've been spoiled at other salons previously. I feel like its a more suitable place for men where they can get in and out quickly. It's the holidays and I needed to budget my money wisely so I was looking for a new place to get my hair trimmed. I read the great reviews on EZ Cut and since it's in Glendale, where I work, I thought to give it a try. There were plenty of parking on Colorado and Everett Street, no meters, NICE! The salon is super clean and inviting. I went in without an appointment at 5:00pm on a Tuesday, which worked out perfectly because it is a quiet, off peak hour for the salon. Gina and Karmen welcomed me immediately and were so sweet and courteous. Karmen cut and styled my hair . She was so personable and adorable. I LOVE my haircut!!!! Karmen is a scissor wizard and she knew how to style and cut my fine, long hair. She made it look stylish and she was fast and I mean fast, in a good way, she knew what she was doing, she's a pro! It was only $25 because it was just a spray down and cut style, which is what I wanted, a fantastic cut with a great price!
