I messaged the salon through Help to set up an appointment and Sky responded very quickly. When I arrived, I was seated quickly and attended to shortly after. This salon is clean, welcoming and has a very friendly vibe. I showed the picture of what I wanted and Sky helped me figure out what would look best with my face shape. She was so helpful and sweet! Sky is super talented and the whole process from washing to cutting and styling took about 40 minutes. I've mostly gone to salons where they're not used to working with hair like mine but Sky knew what to do right away and it came out even better than expected! I called and she answers the phone "hello?" I ask is this the salon , she said yes. There was no indication of it being a salon with just the HELLO so there's 1 first impression right here . When I made my way to the salon she was very impatient with me , sky did not try to get to know what I was requesting . She looked at me like an alien , making me repeat myself . She was extremely defiant when I asked her questions about her products that she would be using to do bleach blonde on MY VERY DARK AND CURLY HAIR , and she explained she uses powder , with no other reassurance or explanation other than tellling me that "she's been doing hair for 25 years" and that it will lift the color we want and that she's be checking every ten minutes . She grabbed one piece of my extension and draped it over my face putting hair right on my face , in my eyes , nose , lips , all over my face putting hair. She was not gentle in this moment . It was extremely rude and I had to push the hair away from my eyes , for her to be standing there looking at me like a mean girl saying "is this what you want ? It's not going to look good , I'm not going to do it because I don't want any of my clients to look bad " like shadow root isn't BAD it's just her opinion and she didn't act like she could understand what I was asking . Then I ask how much for bleach my roots ? But she said grow out your hair so we can do partial highlights ??? She was not listening to me . It was like she was not wanting to understand me or even try . After her putting that piece of hair in my eyes . I had already decided I was not going to put my trust , which she must have picked up on because she said "you don't have to get your hair done " and when I left the high-pitch anime BYEEEE seems very fake and insincere . I notice they only catering to other anime's and they didn't appreciate my Euro and from the start it was difficult getting customer service. Also the place is extremely dark and small and look dirty and crowded in there . I feel she was treating me badly so it would be easier to get me to leave because she's embarrassed or angry about it or she doesn't want to do euro hair only anime I walked out and left feeling violated but I didn't let her stop me . I called studio one off artsahk ave by home goods and eleve lofts apartment and I spoke to a Russian girl who answer her phone "studio one " and went for the consult five minutes later . This girl told me "yes I can help you , I'm going to take care of you, don't worry , I understand your hair , I did root touch up earlier today, see you tomorrow" with confidence and respect in a large , well-lit, clean and bright salon . I recommend people try Studio one instead of hair salon by sky , so they're not treated poorly and disrespected like I was today . I added one star because she accommodated my request for consultation but it was not a positive experience . read more

Woah. Haven't had my hair cut much this pandemic... just twice to be exact. I'd been going to an outdoor spot that was $100 which is unfortunately very common in this area! I live a few miles away but found myself with extra time in Glendale so I decided: a haircut I really, really needed! I found Sky and she had availability the next day when I would be back to Glendale again. I took the appt not knowing much to expect except she had great reviews and seemed like the price was only $60. My hair is hard to mess up, as it's straight, but someone who knows what they are doing can make my fine stranded but thick hair do wonders. She did it! She understood immediately what I was asking for in my bob and made it happen. It is a small joint with maybe one other client in there at a time, not too many frills but great service. Someone who is likely a family member of Sky's helps out and washes your hair, preps you etc. I felt really pampered even though it wasn't your "fancy" type salon. When I decided to search for a new hair stylist, I finally found one who is great at texture cutting my hair. I was a client of Raymond when he was at another salon that I used to go to. When I found out Raymond decided to go on his own, it was a no-brainer to follow him. He takes pride in cutting hair and doesn't do the 15-minute cut to rush in more clients. His assistant who washes my hair, does an amazing head message wash. Not just once before the cut, but another one after the cut.
