I had high hopes for Kris and her crew this year. They did a pretty good job for me last year when they put in a patio walkway and planted some shrubs among a few other things. So I had hired F Gomez again to do spring cleaning, apply some compost and replace a couple shrubs that crapped out on me last year. Pretty simple I thought and generally her crew did a decent job, but they missed cleaning an entire side of my house. My house is tiny so not sure how that was missed. My biggest complaint is about communication. It should not take countless emails and texts to confirm a scope of work and timeline. Plus I get that with landscaping (and any outdoor work) you're completely at the whims of mother nature. But I don't think that means that it should take over a month to get a job done. Also, showing up to my property without giving me any notice was very odd. I think they could get higher marks on customer service if they just improved their communication and kept their word about services performed. read more

In my opinion, this is how to do business! My wife and I were in the market for a new patio, so we took to Yelp to get an idea of who was out there and also had good reviews. This is how we came across this company. We sent an inquiry email and received a very prompt response. Emily was out at our house in a couple of days and in that first meeting we had a good gut feeling. We had some other places over to give quotes, but they didn't give that feeling. Emily didn't give me a drawn out salesperson speech, she listened to what we wanted and gave us a very reasonable quote on our new patio. This business responded quickly to our request for an estimate for a small brick patio to house our grills and maybe a patio table and chairs. The work was scheduled promptly, and the work was done quickly, and on time, at a reasonable rate. We had some concerns about the pitch, as this space butts a basement wall, and the walk out steps from the basement. We were more concerned with function, but Kris selected materials that blend well with our 85 year old brick home. It is "pitch perfect" and way more attractive than our original idea of using poured concrete. The work crew repaired and built up a crumbling retaining wall, and trimmed a strip of concrete walkway to give the soldier course a more aestheticly pleasing look. Thank you all so much! I was extremely satisfied with the work they did. It was a small project that I didn't really know how to describe and a few landscapers would not give me the time of day on the project. Admittedly it was small and they sent someone out within a couple of days to take a look. The problem is that I had significant weeds growing between the pavers of my small patio and I was having a really tough time controlling them. The estimator came to my home at a very convenient time and she gave me two options. One option was expensive and time consuming though would essentially permanently solve the issue. This would involve picking up all of the pavers, leveling everything, putting a sub-layer down, then putting the bricks back. The other option was quite reasonable and cleaned out the weeds and refill the cracks with sand to keep the weeds away for a few years. I chose the latter and it looks great for what I needed. I reached out to several landscape companies to obtain a quote to simply sod a small 150 sq foot area in my backyard. We just purchased a new house and had no sod in the small backyard (which is predominantly paver patio and the rest mulch). Our dogs hated the mulch. So we wanted to put (low grade) sod down in an area to help them. Because this would be a potty area for the dogs, I was very direct in just wanting the cheapest sod available, as it would get damaged from the dogs. I received quotes from 4 companies. F.
